As cool as the custom character creation is I really think tails really should have been the custom character. He uses gadgets and everything. Would have been way better than what they did with him.

The problem with the stages was the whole static nature of it. Surprisingly enough, the spectacle sonic team likes to put in the games actually matter a lot more than we think. Sonic didn't feel like he was going super fast in forces. That's my piece

If I could offer whoever made tis pack some advice: Take notes from the adventure games and everything that follows. Unlike the devs, you’ll be able to see what made the past levels so memorable and challenging, as well as set them apart from one another, because honestly, the only way to improve this game is to do everything from the ground up; narrative included

The linearity is not the problem with Forces, I actually think linear levels work way better for Boost gameplay. Boost gameplay should be fast paced obstacle courses, not open world adventures, in fact I think that works better for Sonic period. The problem with Forces was the very boring level design and very short stages.

I think it's ironic how they took out the Avatar when the "The Resistance needs YOU!" is a common motif all along the game's marketing with hints of it throughout the actual game. To me, the main reason sonic forces’ levels weren’t g ood was because of its lack of engagement. The levels are just a bunch of paths and enemies lined up just so you can hold the square button (or the y or b button depend which console you play). No matter what little “special” thing you put on each level, it’s all going to basically be the same. Take a look at Sonic Unleashed for instance. *Rooftop Run.* That level is a perfect example of an engaging level. It lives up to its name; Sonic is literally running on rooftops. The only obstacles in your way is Eggman’s robots and crap, and you have to use that to your advantage. Yes, you boost a lot in that, but there are so many things in the way that you have to do more than just hold the same button; you got to use the sidesteps that actually work constantly, you got to occasionally slide under obstacles, and you have to react quickly to not get hit by anything. Let’s not forget to mention that Sonic is actually *interacting* with the environment. Like I said before, Sonic is literally running on rooftops. He’s going through buildings, breaking barrels, sliding under pots, *running up the clock tower and grinding down it with accelerating speed!* Don’t even get me started on the music for that level; let’s just say it complements the level really well. Going back to Sonic Forces, what level in this game is as engaging as that? *None.* There is nothing interesting about the levels that stand out, half of them aren’t even original locations, and the quick time events, despite them attempting at making something engaging, still lacked a lot. I’ll give the person who made these reimagined levels an A+ for effort; they attempted to make the levels more interesting, but the only way you can do that is by stating from scratch. Just a personally opinion.

Honestly I’m very interested in checking out this mod in the future. While the levels still don’t look amazing or anything, they’re still a definitive improvement over base Forces’s levels, and will at least give me an excuse to play the game again.
Can we all agree that there should’ve been a sequel but it just like Forces over Clocked, because that mid is AWESOME, and we also need more playable characters because everyone needs to be seen as useful

My problem isn't the linear levels (that would be poor criticism). My problem is it's linear design executed very poorly.
