I don't see much of Final Fantasy, but that protagonist with the butterfly in her eye reminds me of Zero from Drakengard 3 with Nier and Nier Automata. And if Yoko Taro gave it her blessing, it is a safe purchase for me.
The beginning reminds me of verum rex
The art style is more inspired in final fantasy or kingdom hearts than in Nier or drakengard (except the CG cutscene of drakengard 3)
How can? I think it is obviously the style more like nier (and KH) than FF. I don’t really see any resemblance to FF too. FF always have strong art styles in the architecture and fashion. If you mean with art style is character, yeah it is a little bit like Tetsuya Nomura. The MC like Lightning (or Lumina) and the second like Aranea.
@@user-vb5rg8hn6t the shibuya section looks more like the first concepts of ff versus 13, a lot of the areas look ff13-inspired, even Schrödinger town has the altissia feeling.
The art style in general is FF inspired (meaning the cutscene direction and character proportions).
The architecture doesn’t look anything like Nier tbh, I can see the KH style (but KH is final fantasy with disney basically)
Even the ground movement is inspired in FFXV
FF doesn’t have a specific fashion or architecture style, but the “art style”, meaning graphic art style is the same (at least currently), AIKODE takes inspiration from the modern FF art style, drakengard 3 CG intro has the modern FF art style too, but Nier has a completely different art style (even in the CG cutscenes)
What i took from Nier was the air movement (except the flying), the dash and part of the combat (combined with the teleport of FFXV and the lock on of KH)
AIKODE is a mix of a lot of games, you can also see the gravity rush inspirations on the level style for example. But i can assure you the art-style and visuals are definitely inspired by FF with the contrast and lights of KH (or ff9 and 13)

The main inspirations of the full game are the FF13 saga (including FF versus 13) and DrakeNier games! (With a bit of gravity rush, persona and yakuza)
Mindful guys that the whole thing is mostly made by one person, so to achieve this kind of polishness is amazing.

For a game that never came out, it's kinda crazy how many other projects Final Fantasy Versus XIII influenced.
A city inspired by Shibuya, a character dressed in black (during the beginning) eyes of two colors (I'll call It fábula heterochromia from now on).
Some music seemed inspired by Yoko shimomura aswell, but later this project achieved some nier vibes with the white building, vocals and butterfly in the eye

Wow, a psychological action JRPG? What the hell is this and why didn't we get it sooner? Strong FF and Kingdom Hearts vibes. That story featuring AI and how it perceives reality can develop into some philosophically incredible story, or flop. I surely hope it develops incredibly well and amazes us with something fresh and "unique" in this world of less unique but equally amazing games.

@@MonsteRNieR I've heard of Drakengard, and just recently played Nier Automata. And yeah, it touches more philosophical themes as in Nier, but I saw more aesthetic references to those other series I mentioned 🤓
I can tell this is drakengard inspired I love the art direction when it comes to the stages I can’t wait to play it though. One thing I do love is how this game has its own identity while still giving that nostalgia PS2 feel but more modernize

Not gonna lie, the game looks very cool. But nobody here can convince me otherwise…. that this game doesn’t feel like final fantasy. It feels like a big lot of inspiration was taken from Nier Automata. Like a lot of inspiration was taken from Yoko Taro games.
That white haired character is literally Zero from Drakengard…
The game takes inspiration from a lot of things, including FF and DrakeNier, but you can see the inspiration of the FF13 saga in a lot of aspects. (Even the card attacks are inspired in ACE from FF TYPE 0)
Looks like Kingdom Hearts x Nier which sounds like an amazing mix. I'm sold!

It's very similar to Nier games, they even did some things the same (kombat, map design, storytelling style, the thing flying above us, etc.) Even the character in the main image looks like the character in Drakengard 3

I don't know about "like FF" but from I've seen in this vid, it's more like "Kingdom Heart" vibe.
A mix of everything tbh, lots of inspirations! (FF13 was a big inspiration)
The whole Shibuya and heterochromia sure is reminescent from both Noctis and yozora, but the second half has more of a nier and drakengard atmosphere

Using FF might be more of a marketing tactic. But I'm not getting any FF vibes. The entire showcase felt like it was straight out of Yoko Taro's playbook. And I'm here for it.

Honestly I was just blinded by all the Yoko Taro-ness. I've 100% every Drakengard/Nier game, huge fan. I will maintain a reasonable amount of hype for your game. Best of luck with everything!

The killing cat mechanic is not something for the final game, just a little "experiment" to test people actions in the demo and a reference to schrodinger's cat

Great gameplay preview, cool action RPG. :) Playlisted this one for sure. Bright Memory Infinite 1 person was impressive visually and furthered hack m slash/shooter aspects well, even if short it made sense why and was worth it for the time they took to make it short doesn't mean bad.
A visually impressive RPG or adventure game sort of demo/project or so sure looks awesome keep up the good work some characters give some inptessions but its fine.
The dialogue and transitions/effects were good. Heard Schrodinger's cat references a lot but irs fine. It suits with the cats too of course. A very SciFi adventure and what to believe is true angle I guess? Or whatever mind bending stuff or whatever the case. Either way its cool. Took a while I bet but its coming along very well.
Some reflections were good, fair lighting which as not a far of ray tracing it looked good, water qas interesting , I haven't seen good water animations though yet just pretty standard, character detail varied by camera angle. Was good enough. I don't find many western ones water/shine to be that appealing even. It is really impressive but sometimes the character detail from a distance probably makes sense but sometimes they did look a bit flat or pale and not that great but then again in engine then a video looks mhch better no doubt.
To me AI learning and unlearning their moves (attacks, speed, defence, weapons, interactions), the players moves (not just a clone/dark version) besides just NPC continuous job route like stuff. Thats what I want to see in the future woth gaming viduals to me are good enough and no amount of glass/reflections or lighting makes me care.
The character moveset and the skating was pretty good.
Killing cats was a surprise but its something for the player to do.
The cur off areas make sense for story or the experience O guess and a world is hard to do/limits details to be scaled accordingly but its fine. The controlled focus makes sense for what was to be demoed/story told or whatever the case and thats totally fine (and I like linear anyway, better design of combat/puzzles/level design and ability use and more moveset/story structure flowing I find, I don't think so with RPGs but more so platformers, puzzle games well obstacle course type 3D ones not Tetris/Bejeweled type, hack n slashes and otherwise).
Animations with sticks versus motion making it realistic like has been an experiment I have always been curious about but I enjoy any console/controller gimmicks or old games experimenting but do predict what I want to see in the future that isn't formulaic and AAA dead ends. Gaming is fine with animations being the way they are but the curiosity os still always there ever since the Unrecord or whatever that Steam trailer was. Just hopped into my head of hmm is that possible and to make it fun or not but just trialed out. Of hands or legs. Interactivity in the hands.
Playing as teo characters 1 per stick works then a weird balance some games try to do and don't even use motion the 3rd analogue stick in a way. Sigh. Or 2 sticks, d-pad as well even. Face buttons. 5 movement options. Triggers for directions. Anything os possible it depends how people use inputs and code/animate to match.
That and some Indies do great, others nostalgic inspiration and just disappointing repeating the hits when the forgotten have better ideas.
Competition of reepated top title inspiration id a boting future to me in the racing or platformer genre but less so in other genres of puzzle or others qhere Indies are excelling at it with great ideas.
Either way good job here very visually impressed. 9/10

Actually, the whole thing about making an exact copy of Shibuya screams KINDGOM HEARTS to me and certainly makes me think of Quadratum

This is giving a LITTLE bit of Final Fantasy vibes. But I'm more rather getting Verum Rex and NieR vibes and a little bit of KH. The girl's eyes I'm the first part of the video made me think of Yozora and then the setting in the next stage was giving a little bit of Twilight Town and then the 3rd stage was giving Daybreak Town vibes. As for the 4th stage, MADE NieR Automata vibes. All this to say, I LOVE THIS!!! And can we just talk about how beautiful the music is too?

reminds me of ffxv, ffxiii and ffvii remake. Ffxv with the style and animations, ffxiii with some characters, music and other animations. Little bit of a KH and Nier vibe too. Nice

No I can see why they would say it's like Final Fantasy. It's not the tangible assets or any hard reference, but the style of the design and character portrayals does remind me of something I'd see in a FF game, or even a Kingdom Hearts one....just a bit. But that being said, this is gorgeous, and I'm surprised they made this game look and feel as good as they did.

Hmmm, at first glance I was excited but after a bit of research I'm a bit worried. Let me start with saying I believe this game could be astronomically amazing, it absolutely has the potential. As a young mysterious solo dev with limited experience, this level of polish appears unreal (engine 5?). They've shown their progress throughout, which I like. So what could be the issue? I believe that with that situation, and seeing how multiple influences have been added to the game through out, with a complex story to match, and it being scrapped a few times, you'll end up with a good old jack of all trades, master of none. The story appears very convoluted, which could be a good thing if it's actually fleshed out and ends up having a meaningful message, but could easily just be a pretentious feign at any real philosophical substance especially as someone who appears to have no history in story writing (at least on the internet, I only found that they did character designs before starting on this game). 7 playable characters is worrisome but it could work depending on how it's incorporated but I wouldn't be surprised if that's changed later since it seems a bit too ambitious to do in a meaningful manner (having 7 characters you care about impact a complex story). Combat looks nice and flashy, but also looks like it can get old quick, looks like its just a string of A1 > A2 > A3 in order every time on the ground. Boss fight I like, but I hope there's more systems and unique stages that get incorporated to other boss fights in the game (As in this boss seems to do a lot, but I hope they didn't use up all their stage and attack ideas on just one boss). I believe some of the animations lack visual clarity, others look kinda wonky but I'm sure that can be cleaned up. Overall I'm still looking forward to it, but it just appears too Too TOO ambitious for a solo dev to nail all these things on their first real project ever. Ace/mellamanace, since I see you replying on this video, if you happen to come across this, I have a challenge for you. Prove me wrong, create the outstanding game you truly envision.
Felt like a mix of FF, KH, Nier and Drakengard to me. There was also one area previewed that was eerily similar to Code Vein. Overall, it looks like the elements drew inspiration from all sorts of games that had dark-undertones. But for it to be started by simply just one person years back, before it became a team, and for this much development, it's definitely something to look forward to.
Hopefully, there's just no copyright or likeness over an IP being crossed over that ACE can get sued for. All that hard work will be for nothing it that happens. So if any permission is needed of any kind, I hope it's given to an extent.
This looks like one of those Patreon games that have been in pre-alpha stage for 5 years.

Idk about that souls like combat, this is a hack and slash or action RPG… Also I didn’t see any of these environments in Nier:Automata but if you say is a copy i guess it’s a copy lol (let’s ignore all the other games I “copied” like final fantasy, gravity rush, anthem, kingdom hearts, persona, virtues last reward, etc…)
