I knew exactly what that sound was, but not quite sure how to deal with it. I used a Wet/Dry Vac to suck most of the oil out, but be ready for about 5 minutes of white smoke and slight back fire while it burns off.
Thank you very much brilliant explanation the manual supplied is definitely in need of a rewrite in real English common sense? I will write my own now this your simple detailed explanation of how to use. Thanks again 👍
I just got 2 of these. I too tried to prime it do to the distance the tank and fuel pump was going to be from the main units and it didn’t do anything for me as well. However I just connected everything and started as normal I had to get a error code and run it again knowing the error was do to no fuel and seeing it hadn’t made it all the way through the fuel lines yet I started it again and that did it.
Thank you for the video! I still can’t seem to get the Auto function/thermostat to function like an actual thermostat. I’m a little confused, so we have to set the cabin temp manually, ie the controller doesn’t have an internal thermostat? If it doesn’t, how does the Auto function know when to turn off once it’s reached the desired temp?
Well, after reading through all of the 200+ comments, I found someone that answered my question, which is that this controller does have a thermostat; however, it has a large temp window of +2 and -2 degrees. In other words, if you set the Auto temp to 60° for the heater to cut on, it won't cut on until the cabin temp dips to 58 or even 57 and then won't cut off until 62°. Not the most accurate thermostat, but at least it works!
My understanding of the manual was, it is supposed to address the air fuel mixture automatically based on the elevation. That being said, I have heard from other commenters, and have experienced for myself that the altitude is not entirely accurate
It automatically adjust for altitude. If you hold the up and down button for 3 seconds, you can then scroll through the menu and it will show you your current altitude on the screen. Mine says 511meter.
When using Auto = on, you say it will shut down when it reaches the set temperature. Does it actually go through the cool down process and shut down completely, then wait for the temperature to drop before turning back on from a cold state, or does it just go down to a low setting but keep burning? We have this heater and were considering a Bureck wireless thermostat that allows that functionality to avoid sooting up the heater from constant low-high cycling. Regarding the priming function, I had that same issue but found a very helpful Reddit post that resolved it for me. Remove the inline fuse, press and hold the down button, and replace the fuse. Continue to hold the down button for what seems longer than 7 seconds and it will eventually begin the countdown and the pump will begin to prime the fuel line. Weird, but there you go.
It will do a cool down when desired temperature is reached and then proceeded to shut completely off. When it gets below the set temperature, it will do a full start up process again
@@Moes_Adventures Just yesterday I finished the install and with your video on my phone thought I would check this out. My AUTO function was turned off, so I turned it on and set the temperature to just a degree or two over what it was in my bus. I was very excited when it actually shut down. That was unexpected, and I would not even have known it could do that if I hadn't found your video here. Thank you very much!
Hi. Great stuff. I just bought this heating system. Everything works fine but is there a way to release the fan and fuel pump? On warmer days it heats too much... All suggestions welcome. Best regards
Thank you for the video so much. It’s truly helped me with my heater. I have this exact control panel. Is there any way that you could explain to me how to change the altitude I can get to that spot in the settings, but I can’t figure out how to change it.
Thanks for the video just got the new controller as mine was sent with the wrong one, mine won’t prime or I hear no ticking and get an e03 error. You are saying put it in manual mode the crank the gears to 10
Is the temperature gauge in the Bluetooth display? and is it possible to extend the cable to the Bluetooth display. I would like to get the display into the boat. and thus also measure the correct temperature if the temperature gauge is in the display
Everything is very good, you can even silence the voice which was something I wanted, but I would like the screen to turn off as time passes. As in the previous versions, which had to be left on for a while, the screen would turn off and thus there would be no annoying light and energy consumption.
Priming mode works as follows. The heater will only prime when it's first powered on. I.e 12v supply to the heater BUT NOT POWERED ON VIA THE CONTROLLER. I.e turn on the power to the heater but don't touch anything. Then press and hold the down arrow button for 7 seconds
Best vid on this subject I have found. Manual is ajoke, and priming did not work for me either. Anyone know what the coloured lighr bar strip is about? Can't find a reference to it anywhere.
I was hoping they allowed air fuel ratio adjustments since a lot need tuning for elevation.. and for whatever reason the elevation readout does not actually adjust a/f ratio or anything.
They claim the air/fuel ratio is automatically adjusted based on the elevation. From what i have seen, the elevation readings are not accurate so im not sure the air/fuel ratios are being adjusted properly.
@@jim4556 your controller looks like the one in the video? I feel like this isn't a common or old looking model. The ecu I heard is on the heater itself and I think you can just swap out the controller for one that will let you adjust the fuel/air mixture.
@randybobandy9828 yes on having the controller that looks identical. On all the past heaters the controllers and be swapped out. But they needed to have some revision compatability. If nothing more than to communicate at the same baud rate
Good morning. I bought a heater type XMZ-L-4. The instructions in the manual are not very clear and I have not been able to adjust my heater correctly. Could you help me?
is there a possibility to reduce the hysteresis? for example I set 15 degrees and it stopped when it reached 18 then restarted at 12. it seems a lot to me. and one more question, do you need a special cable to extend the control panel? thank you. to prime the "down" button must be pressed and held as soon as power is supplied to the unit.
I do not believe there is a way to do that. The heater i have seems to turn on at 2° below set temperature, then turns off at 1° above. It would be nice to adjust that for sure. If i were to extend the controller wire, i would just cut and splice it myself with the same size wire.
Hi! Nice video. Is the controller reading the temperature or something else inside the shell, like a temperature sensor inside the itself diesel heater?
The controller reads the temperature of the space you are heating. The shell also gives a temperature read out to show how hot the combustion temperature is.
I have a newer manual with the up/down buttons but it's still very confusing. I just got my unit install but haven't added fuel or powered up. About the app, I have a Samsung A10 with android 12 and Play Store won't let me download the app. I also have a A7 and cannot download the app. Which phone/android verasion number do you have?
I am considering a unit with this same "NEW" controller. Has anyone figured out how to get a "advanced settings" menu? Or at least have these run in HERTZ mode? I have a different controller that is bluetooth with a dial on the right. With a setting button above and power below. I don't think it has any way of doing the above options listed.
People extend their display wire quite often to have it in a better spot. As long as you keep your extension wire the same gauge as the original wire you should have no problem!
@@garypotter1746 i would just splice in the same gauge wire from the connector at the controller, and run it into the existing wires. Then you can still disconnect the controller if you ever wanted to. Find the same size (gauge) wire and cut the wires to the length you need and use some heat shrinkable butt connectors. Unless you are good with soldering, then it will be less bulky. Finish it off with some split loom so it looks nicer.
Do you know if there’s a way I can set the temp to 25c, but the heater only starts when the temp fall down to 15c? Because the default margin is too narrow, it will start at 23c and stop at 25c. It wastes too much battery doing so
Get a bureck thermostat. It basically emulates the remote. It can be used to add thermostat to non thermostat models and it can be programmed for just what you want. A min and max temp range.
I have never tried that. They all work off the same basic principle so im sure its possible. But if the wiring doesn’t match up, the controller probably wouldn’t communicate properly with the ecb
What sort of battery/s does that remote use? It's got me stuffed, nothing in the manual about it... Didn't come with any either...not happy, the older heater is way better.
I tired this also and was not able to figure it out. I suspect the developer of the app did not program the temperature units to be selected. I tried a number of things and was unsuccessful.

Yea it would be better if it was more accurate. That’s quite the temperature change…+/- 4°
When your heater is up and running what internal (burner chamber) temps is the display showing when it’s on both low and high fan speeds please?
Great video! Any info on how to get this into Alpine/high altitude mode, or do you have to manually set the altitude to get it to run leaner?
My understanding of the manual was, it is supposed to address the air fuel mixture automatically based on the elevation. That being said, I have heard from other commenters, and have experienced for myself that the altitude is not entirely accurate
It automatically adjust for altitude. If you hold the up and down button for 3 seconds, you can then scroll through the menu and it will show you your current altitude on the screen. Mine says 511meter.
Mine is only reading zero meters and I’m at 5000’. Keeps tripping on Eo5 over heating fault. Would really like to know how to manually change it.
Thanks man. Just picked up one. This helped
Glad I could help
Do you have any videos or recommend videos for setting altitude? Can't get mine to work and don't entirely know how too.
My understanding on these units is the altitude adjustment is automatic.
Thanks for the video, can you tell me if you can set up a timer so it will kick in before I get up out of the bed ?
I haven’t played around with the schedule unfortunately.
thanks man , thats just what i needed to know . 😊
Glad it was helpful 👍
Merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo indispensable 😃
You’re welcome
Thank you for the video so much. It’s truly helped me with my heater. I have this exact control panel. Is there any way that you could explain to me how to change the altitude I can get to that spot in the settings, but I can’t figure out how to change it.
Im pretty sure the altitude is supposed to be automatic
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, very clear. Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the video just got the new controller as mine was sent with the wrong one, mine won’t prime or I hear no ticking and get an e03 error. You are saying put it in manual mode the crank the gears to 10
How many degrees does it brop below the set point before it automatically turns back on?
Thanks in advance

Is there a way to manually setup fan RPM and HZ of the pump to lower the power for more silent operation with this controller?
I don’t believe so on this model. There is no hidden settings menu that I am aware of.
Great video. Thanks! Is the clicking noise we hear in the video constant?
Thx this helped me a lot!!
hey mate , nice vid, the primer function only works on first power on. if you need to do it again you need to pull the fuse to do a repower up.
Thanks! I finally figured that out after making the video lol
Thanks, Moe. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, helps a lot!
Is the temperature gauge in the Bluetooth display? and is it possible to extend the cable to the Bluetooth display. I would like to get the display into the boat. and thus also measure the correct temperature if the temperature gauge is in the display
Just 3 small wires. Power ground and signal. Just cut and extend. Solder and heat shrink works well.
Thank you for the information
Hey Mo! Any idea how to adjust the elevation on this controller ? I’m out by about 200m. Fuel mixture will certainly change once I get this sorted
Unfortunately, I do not know how or even if it’s possible. I have seen in other comments that it’s adjusted automatically.
The whole point of this model is that it auto adjusts the air fuel mixture for altitude.
@randybobandy9828 but they don't and are often wrong. Atleast that's true for my controller that looks identical and all the ones previous.
In auto mode, if you set it to 15° will it will stay within a few degrees?
@@Hiker97 thats correct. I believe it kicks in at -2 and kicks out at +2 from the set temperature. I wish it was only 1° plus or minus.
@@Moes_Adventures This is very helpful data. I was wondering why it wouldn't kick on automatically in Auto mode...
Any idea what distance you get with bluetooth or remote
Very helpful video!
Is there a possibility to turn off the display when the heater does not work?
Thank you❤
You're welcome 😊
Good morning. I bought a heater type XMZ-L-4. The instructions in the manual are not very clear and I have not been able to adjust my heater correctly. Could you help me?
Im not familiar with that unit
is there a possibility to reduce the hysteresis? for example I set 15 degrees and it stopped when it reached 18 then restarted at 12. it seems a lot to me. and one more question, do you need a special cable to extend the control panel? thank you. to prime the "down" button must be pressed and held as soon as power is supplied to the unit.
I do not believe there is a way to do that. The heater i have seems to turn on at 2° below set temperature, then turns off at 1° above. It would be nice to adjust that for sure.
If i were to extend the controller wire, i would just cut and splice it myself with the same size wire.
great video very helpful.I dont know how to turn off speaker ,have tried switch in iphone app but does nothing
Cheers
Cancel that just found a video on how to silence it th-cam.com/video/sSBw8j1epdA/w-d-xo.html thanks again
Hi! Nice video. Is the controller reading the temperature or something else inside the shell, like a temperature sensor inside the itself diesel heater?
The controller reads the temperature of the space you are heating. The shell also gives a temperature read out to show how hot the combustion temperature is.
grateful thanks
You’re welcome
rte is to pair a new remote control/fob
its possible to control via zigbee or Tuya over a lte router ? i want to control my RV from home.
I am unsure of this.
Thank you so much!!
@@Hiker97 I have an i phone. I am not familiar with any other phone manufacturers
@@Moes_Adventures I found a source other than Play Store to download the app. All seems to be working.
Hey did your heater come with screws to mount the display? Mine didnt come with any tiny screws
No it did not. I had to also drill the plastic a little so the screw head would be counter sunk in.
Is it 1688 to access the advanced options
I have a heater with a removable display. Would I have a problem if I cut the wire and sliced in an extension cord by 3 meters?
People extend their display wire quite often to have it in a better spot. As long as you keep your extension wire the same gauge as the original wire you should have no problem!
@@Moes_Adventures Thank you Moe. What would you suggest to connect them together with?
@@garypotter1746 i would just splice in the same gauge wire from the connector at the controller, and run it into the existing wires. Then you can still
disconnect the controller if you ever wanted to. Find the same size (gauge) wire and cut the wires to the length you need and use some heat shrinkable butt connectors. Unless you are good with soldering, then it will be less bulky. Finish it off with some split loom so it looks nicer.
@@Moes_Adventures Thanks again for the advice. Now I will subscribe. Best of luck. 👍
@@garypotter1746 awesome! Thank you!
Do you know if there’s a way I can set the temp to 25c, but the heater only starts when the temp fall down to 15c? Because the default margin is too narrow, it will start at 23c and stop at 25c. It wastes too much battery doing so
That kind of setting is not programable from the consumer side
Get a bureck thermostat. It basically emulates the remote. It can be used to add thermostat to non thermostat models and it can be programmed for just what you want. A min and max temp range.
Thankyou soooo much
Most welcome 😊
How do you set mountain mode or do you need to?
My understanding is this should be an automatic feature
Thanks Moe!
Hi,
If you or someone buys a unit without Bluetooth, and buy separate control board and display panel with Bluetooth build in.
Can it work?
If you can find the control panel and display it would work.
@@Moes_Adventures I hope you right.
Thanks
Can this controller be used on the older Vevor units?
I have never tried that. They all work off the same basic principle so im sure its possible. But if the wiring doesn’t match up, the controller probably wouldn’t communicate properly with the ecb
Thank you
You're welcome
Where does auto mode pull the temp from. The phone or the remote
It pulls temp from the lcd display/controller.
Thank you. Mine just showed up today. Haven't ameven had a chance to open it
What sort of battery/s does that remote use?
It's got me stuffed, nothing in the manual about it...
Didn't come with any either...not happy, the older heater is way better.
Can you connect it with Google home? Or alexa?
Im not sure. I do not have either one.
Is there a way to convert the app on the phone to from Celsius to Fahrenheit? I did it on the controller but it didn’t cross over to the app. Thanks
I tired this also and was not able to figure it out. I suspect the developer of the app did not program the temperature units to be selected. I tried a number of things and was unsuccessful.
@@Moes_Adventures Thanks for trying I appreciate it.
@@kelseykimes7994 no problem!
Or you can just learn to divide and multiply by 10 like the rest of the world.

100C Water Boiling point.
For the rest, do the math
They sent me a replacement panel, the original was faulty. How do I pair the remote with the new panel?
This i am unsure of
I have a Vevor 8KW and when starting I can faintly smell exhaust gases from the warm air outlet, then it stops. Is this normal?
Maybe theres a crack in the combustion chamber. I never smell any exhaust unless the connection for the exhaust tube is not sealed properly.
