To this day I still have my original GI JOE figures and accessories in mint condition. 3 shoe boxes full from 1983 to 1993. And Comic books. Good ol days and memories! Cheers HoodedCobraCommander788 🍺🍺🍺😎🎸
This figure is absolutely top notch. His diving suit is incredible, love the accessories, and the color scheme just rocks. Hated his depiction on the cartoon though.
Lol. Great play on words. I hope that she didn't damage your law suit. Thx for getting to Wet-Suit, finally!! He is my favorite Joe character, from the 86 line. You killed the review as always!!
The nineties Wet-Suit mold was also used for the Street Fighter The Movie toyline, redone as Navy SEAL Guile. It was a dark blue and one variant had black trim. The other variant had yellow trim. Possible stand in figure for Wet-Suit if you like.
As a kid I never really got into Wetsuit never thought he was that great now days though I think he's awesome a real strong character too....Go Wetsuit.
Great Review. Wet Suit was the first action figure I got from the 1986 line. Mainly because I missed out on getting Torpedo. First thing I did after I got was buy an accessory pack of weapons an give him a gun.
You are not the first person to mention getting Wet-Suit as a stand-in for Torpedo. That seems logical. Neither of them have their faces exposed. They could be interchangeable.
+[HoodedCobraCommander788] I always thought my Wet Suit was also equipped with a Scuba rebreather as well. The Hollis Explorer pack is similarly a shell enclosing all the tanks and hardware. In the '80s the rebreathers were not so streamlined, so it would be a little more futuristic for the mid '80s. Navy SEALs do carry their pistols and rifles underwater, but they cap the barrels to keep water intrusion to a minimum, SEALs wouldn't be expected to fight underwater normally but would surface ready for combat and have firearms ready with a little draining. But usually in an op where they were to swim in stealthy and then surface to fight on land, ships, or marine structures; they would be wearing their combat uniform and not a Scuba wet suit. That would have been nice detail to have under his gear instead of a bright blue wet suit.
This Wet Suit was the second Gijoe figure I had. The first was Croc Master. Maybe he doesn't seem like a soldier but he is one of my favourites. It's curoius but Wet suit in spain is named 'Skuba'. The card is often translated literally (I've compared it with some other figures that I have) but this one has changed his name.
Nice review! I liked the color of his uniform better than his head sculpt, but you're right, he has more of a sports theme than a military one. Anyway, he's not as bad as Crazy Legs. Thanks for the reminder to take a shower later!
Wet-Suit's rebreather is hardened, meaning designed for a rougher environment, which is why the separate canisters cannot be seen. You are correct about them being similar to CO2 scrubbers. It would be interesting if they use monoethanolamine to remove the CO2. His colors and equipment would indicate he may be a rescue diver for GI Joe or possibly for a Caribbean operation, as the water color is very vibrant, and darker colors are easily seen from the surface. I have known two different groups, and they are quite interesting. Razzing and cursing are part of any military camaraderie. You would not believe how we treated each other on subs!
I missed out on Wet-Suit originally just because he just didn't have the combat ready look. Great video HCC. Literal code names was a blast. Hope it comes back. I can almost picture law enforcement getting called when you cover "Night Creeper". Don't worry, I'd come bail you out.
I can't like Leatherneck without liking *this* character! I bet fans who had these two 1986 figures did the two always getting into arguments with each other!
He is OK as long you use as driver otherwise he is a support role , he also had Tiger Force version too ... Similar mini sub vesicles start used by Polish Lifeguards in 98 ...
Took years to find the "Special Missions Brazil" one that had a much better paint scheme I think. Keep the reviews coming love the skits. I just wished my Romanian trained secret skills of hypnosis will convince you to review Crystal Ball!!! You are seeing colors before your eyes on a cool little shield the more you tilt it the more Hypnotized you will become.....
Crystal Ball will get his day! We've just got a lot of other stuff to do in the meantime. I'm starting to realize how much I have focused on the early years. There are huge gaps in my coverage of 1987-1994. I need to start filling in.
Cool actually one I think you have missed and would really like on the Joe side is Gung Ho 1987 Dress Blues. A figure I never really got into till just about a week ago when it arrived. There is a lot of cool history there and the only Dress uniform of the entire line that I can think of. HAHA great work keep the fun coming its great seeing the new videos pop up and the great work you are all doing on your team is really paying off and shines bright in a sea of reviewers!
Great review as expected. I remember the Battle Corps Shipwreck from 92 or 93 being listed as a SEAL and he had subdued colors. I'd love to hear a SEAL candidate say what was said at 1:23. LOL
"I would like to join your Navy SEAL organization, but let's get a few things straight right from the beginning: I don't like cold, and I don't like water. Sign me up!"
Its weird Wet Suit got a lot of screen time in the Joe toon, his bickering with Leatherneck was a highlight, and as far as I know 99% of the time he appeared without his helmet. Poor Torpedo got maybe one or two notable appearances.
All of those guys with sculpted-on helmets and masks were given faces in the cartoon. It seems the cartoon felt the same way I did about them-- they wouldn't be wearing their head gear all the time! It would look really strange if Wet-Suit were strolling through the jungle trading insults with Leatherneck while wearing his scuba mask.
You're too hard on the figures sometimes. It's a cool figure. You're not gonna have Iceberg or Blizzard in the desert either. Some figures are for a certain area, and Wet-Suit's area is the water, and he looks awesome there.
you have been doing this for awhile now, but man, you sure were wet behind the ears in this episode. wet-suit was only as good as what he was paired with. the devil-fish, shark, deep-six, torpedo, TBP. he definitely wasn't a stand alone figure. other than that spot one once again with the assessment. Glad you weren't reviewing frostbite, sub-zero, ice-viper, astro-viper, saw-viper, lightfoot, charbroil, crankcase, clutch, or some other crazy codenamed figure, because mrs. hoodedcobra commander was having too much fun with this.
a quick post script. i think the hasbro designers for wet-suit watched the james bond film "for your eyes only" a few too many times. there are a lot of similarities between the diving gear in that movie and wet-suit's are amazing. that makes 2 james bond similarities in the joe vintage line. chuckles is the other.
To this day I still have my original GI JOE figures and accessories in mint condition. 3 shoe boxes full from 1983 to 1993. And Comic books. Good ol days and memories! Cheers HoodedCobraCommander788 🍺🍺🍺😎🎸
By far one of my favorites when I was a kid
Love the opening! When you started doing these skits you really raised the bar!
So funny!!!!Your skits and presentation (and delivery of your comedic lines) are impeccable!!!!Thanks (as always) for your great videos!!!
This figure is absolutely top notch. His diving suit is incredible, love the accessories, and the color scheme just rocks. Hated his depiction on the cartoon though.
Wicked good review! It always pissed me off that he didn't have a removable mask or a weapon. Love your reviews man. So good.
Thank you for showing me how the sea sled is suppose to be held in Wetsuit's hand.
Lol. Great play on words. I hope that she didn't damage your law suit. Thx for getting to Wet-Suit, finally!! He is my favorite Joe character, from the 86 line. You killed the review as always!!
Thank you! That was an old suit that I was done with anyway.
That's a good thing, the humor in your videos keeps getting better.

My Wet-Suit has excellent paint on the mouthpiece. You need to touch yours up, brother.
I really like how your wife likes to support your hobby and channel... but this time I think she REEEEEAAAALLLLY likes it !
The things you do for us. I loved the literal code name scene. I agree wit you, we need a tougher Navy Seal figure.
Wet-Suit (one of the 1986 Joes) was the more definite replacement for 1983's Torpedo.

this one is def in my top 10
I had Wetsuit! I remember we had trouble keeping the tank on so I had my dad glue it on with super glue
She loves her job defiantly
Nice review! I liked the color of his uniform better than his head sculpt, but you're right, he has more of a sports theme than a military one. Anyway, he's not as bad as Crazy Legs. Thanks for the reminder to take a shower later!
Thank you! And all around you thank you for remembering to take a shower.
I think his air tank was a re-breather tank, aka C02 scrubber.
JoeMotion Videos 82 I was going to say the same thing. Looks similar to the old German Draeger rebreathers.
Wet-Suit's rebreather is hardened, meaning designed for a rougher environment, which is why the separate canisters cannot be seen. You are correct about them being similar to CO2 scrubbers. It would be interesting if they use monoethanolamine to remove the CO2.

I like the comedy bits they set this apart from just a regular review,,,, COOOOOBBBBBRRRRAAAA!!!!!!!
Thank you!
I can't like Leatherneck without liking *this* character! I bet fans who had these two 1986 figures did the two always getting into arguments with each other!
nice work my friend loved the review
Thank you!
The pistol on Wet-suit's leg is actually a squirt gun.
My very first GI Joe!
I never wanted a Devilfish until today. Something about seeing the figures posed on it.
Devilfish is cool. Not militaryish but nice looking.
The Devilfish has it's place. I can see why some collectors wouldn't like it.
He is OK as long you use as driver otherwise he is a support role , he also had Tiger Force version too ... Similar mini sub vesicles start used by Polish Lifeguards in 98 ...
Crap, I added the below comment before finishing the whole video. Already put the Skidmark joke in there.
Literally, That was great
Great review. If you're going to keep doing literal code names, save Skidmark or Backblast till the end of the run.
Took years to find the "Special Missions Brazil" one that had a much better paint scheme I think. Keep the reviews coming love the skits. Wet-suit's backpack might not be a traditional scuba tank, but a re-breather system

ALAMO SPIRIT 7 battlecorps shipwreck came out in 1994 the stinky diver version
Well I guess we can be thankful that there is no Literal Code Name episode for Snow Job.
Awesome 👏
I passed on this guy.

"I love my job" XD
I have thought for a long time now that his pouches and backpack contain materials for explosives and he uses his sled for a speedy getaway
Never loved wet suit. His accessories were orange and the hoses always popped out. A poor mans max Ray!
Max Ray's green would have worked a bit better for Wet-Suit.
Torpedo and Wet-suit define the need for removable helmets. How is Wet-suit supposed to punk Leatherneck with his face all concealed?
I wish you had the card art ...I know you would have addressed him wearing short legged suit know as "Shorties"
You're too hard on the figures sometimes. It's a cool figure. You're not gonna have Iceberg or Blizzard in the desert either. Some figures are for a certain area, and Wet-Suit's area is the water, and he looks awesome there.
Haha, best wet suit I've seen, great review, wakaka
great review HCC. will you ever do a video of a Q&A again like u did in the past, and if so how do we send you our questions. yo joe
I will probably do another one at the end of this year. I'll post a video to let everyone know how to send questions!
Ha!
The aqua color wetsuit keeps me from liking an otherwise really good figure.
Next time use the hose!
If only he had a weapon or a removable helmet...
That would help.
HoodedCobraCommander788 I think that a newer version of Wet Suit had a removable helmet. Not sure about weapons.
rescue diver

This literal code name business could quickly get out of hand.
Your lucky the pitcher was not filled with bull semen and bee feces.
In the depths, no one can see you scream;-p
