She was a couple of years older than I am and one of these actresses that have a serene way of getting old. The way she carried on not making a drama of her illness shows that she was truly remarkable.

My son and I watched Peaky Blinders together (he passed over the sex scenes for his mama); while often commenting on her beauty, I also complained how unfair it was that I haven't weathered as well - and she's older!!! 😀

I saw Helen at the last Harry Potter premiere in London. I stod where the cars arrived and most of the actors did not give any autographs there but she gave me the most beautiful autograph and she was so warm and friendly. I will never forget it.

I first saw Helen McCrory on the stage at the Almeida Theatre in London in 1998, in a play called 'The Triumph of Love'. She was the star and carried on being a star in the theatre till her death. I even saw the play where she met her husband, Damien Lewis, 'Five Gold Rings', also at the Almeida. I frequently saw Helen McCrory watching other plays at the Almeida and she attended without fuss or fanfare. There is nowhere to hide on the stage and you cannot fake talent so I know beyond a doubt that she was a brilliant actress. Her performance in 'Deep Blue Sea' was utterly convincing and compelling and broke your heart. Those who only saw her in films or television have missed seeing how deep her talent went. I am in grief at the thought of all those brilliant performances I will now never see. She was only 52 and could easily have performed till her 80s. Look at Glenda Jackson, now performing again in her 80s, and as compelling as ever. The English stage really has had a great loss.
Helen was a great actress. Her work will continue to keep her in our 💕. Peak Blinders will not be the same. May she rest in peace. My condolences to her family. It is so great that she accepted her fate. And most importantly she wanted her family to continue to be happy. What a woman.

I first saw Helen McCrory on the stage at the Almeida Theatre in London in 1998, in a play called 'The Triumph of Love'. She was the star and carried on being a star in the theatre till her death. I even saw the play where she met her husband, Damien Lewis, 'Five Gold Rings', also at the Almeida. I frequently saw Helen McCrory watching other plays at the Almeida and she attended without fuss or fanfare.
There is nowhere to hide on the stage and you cannot fake talent so I know beyond a doubt that she was a brilliant actress. Her performance in 'Deep Blue Sea' was utterly convincing and compelling and broke your heart. Those who only saw her in films or television have missed seeing how deep her talent went.
I am in grief at the thought of all those brilliant performances I will now never see. She was only 52 and could easily have performed till her 80s. Look at Glenda Jackson, now performing again in her 80s, and as compelling as ever. The English stage really has had a great loss.
RIP Helen. You were so awesome
It's amazing how dignified she was all while having cancer, it's incredible! She was such a great character, a strong matriarch, for sure.
