I was fortunate to train with Seb under John Hovell. Amazing athlete and lovely man, no ego, he turned up at New River track ,on his rest day in the rain and held the stop watch for us while we trained , as John was away on holiday. I was only 15 years old.

Typically brilliant Simon and quite possibly my favourite with Lord Coe. As a Sheffielder and Wednesday fan this really resonated. 💙 Loved watching Sebastian run especially in the 1980 Olympics as an 8 year old me. Remember Seb training in Graves Park too. Class act on and off the track and one of Britain’s all time great sporting icons. Also thought you both nailed it re resilience/mental health.

Brillian conversation. I love these series as it takes away the Bullsh*t you hear on the news and radio. It lets people say their true views without being tarnished... but it also allows them to be questioned on the views but also beable to discuss why they have the views instead of being shot down.

Top notch as ever. For a so-called 'non-journalist', Simon is one of the best in the business at drilling down into the important topics; having an unapologetic attitude about his own views, controversial or otherwise. Would very much like to see him at work if the opportunity came my way. Keep up the good work, to all involved.

Great interview, you don't hear Seb speak about his career on the track much so was good to hear. It's difficult to update athletics to "improve the product". Football cricket and Rugby you can tweak the rules to attempt to improve the spectacle and you can tweak away at other sports but what can you do to change track and field? A 1500 metres is a 1500 metres, if you change it it becomes a different event altogether.
