Which is ony a part of what makes this guy so sleazy. He purposely has the man miss his stop, then pretends to be helpful, saying, "Oh, this is your stop! You'd better hurry!" as if he didn't know that _before_ getting him to miss it??
Imagine showing up at your friend's place nearly an hour late with the excuse, "Some random guy on the train hypnotised me into missing my stop."
He has zero concern for how he affects another person's day or life.
Which brings me to the worst example of all - manipulating someone into a fake spiritual experience. All the other parlour tricks we've seen in this video disgust me, but that is so far into the realm of cruel and unnecessary that I can't even look at him any more.

I really can't feel anything for him. Just put yourself in this scene, you would either get mad at this idiot with a camera for making you miss your stop or be so shocked and amazed by what just happened and burst in laugh and be asking him ''what? how? what did you do to me?", but this guy's reaction just seemed unnatural, like I believed it was genuine up until this point where it screamed ACTING

When I was a young, undersized INFP, I had many bullies and was terrified of conflict, so I learned to find the mental and spiritual weaknesses and attack them publicly, repeatedly, until they would eventually beg me to stop.
Over the years I honed that ability and others as coping skills, to protect myself and other underdogs from the masses of asses. Several of my friends over the years have remarked that the worst ass whippings they ever saw me deliver, I applied with words.
Over the years I had a few of the recipients come up to me sheepishly and thank me for the harsh words, because they weren't able to forget them and were forced to face the things about them I had shown them.
As good as it feels to know I made a positive impact on those folks, I can't help but fear that I may be responsible for someone taking their own life because I wanted to flex my ego.
I have survived two nearly fatal attempts on my own life and have ridden a bicycle, pulling a pitbull in a trailer, over twenty thousand miles raising awareness for suicide prevention.
Everything for better or worse is exactly as it should be until it changes for better or worse when it becomes exactly as it should be!
    Be blessed y'all 🙏

INFJ here. this guy is vile and falls into the classic INFJ trap: I can move everyone else but not myself. Is there anyone worse than the mentalist who thinks everyone else is reducible to psychology but can't see how revolting that attitude would be applied to themselves?

    • @TheNicMMc
      @TheNicMMc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

I might have NF play as a savior/demon and I am only now started to see the hypocrisy.
It's just starts with trying to use "I" statements and avoiding projecting onto other people.
This Infj's charisma just happens to be so powerful that his projection can engulf an average person.
I can do the same thing with small shy children. It's not rocket science.
You just need to create a sense of value in a person and then that person is then willing to do what you want. The tricky part is to track what they are observing of you in that exact moment because if you are too slow to catch the perspective or too focus on yourself then they'll become withdrawn or suspicious.
      Also it helps if you really can't understand what they are saying. That's how I was able to avoid getting sucked into cults and pyramid schemes. ^_^;

what he did reminds me of classical conditioning:
conditioned stimulus - talking about/imagining ideal father
    conditioned response: emotions/feelings she experienced
unconditioned stimulus paired with conditioned stimulus: tapping with thoughts of father
so now the tapping becomes a conditioned stimulus leading to a conditioned response (feelings, emotions that the participant previously got from thinking of ideal father)

As an ENTP who learned non-mainstream psychology and persuasion techniques (credits to Akira Anzai). The person in the video you're critiquing is a master indoctrinator.
Using techniques such as: Generating Intrigue, Building Rapport, Eliciting values/emotions, then Indoctrinate. Not to mention anchors, body language, future projection, then devalidation technique. Fascinating!

its not about beeing this mystical master manipulater (the example of this guy oversaturates the actual mechanics behind it to an extreme extent)
it is about using your sense of humanity/emotions etc etc to IMPACT, change and mold your environment.
Simply expressing your emotions through gesture, body language, speech and tone can be enough to bring your intuitive pattern across.
As long as the goal is attached to "teaching the tribe your Ni" it is N blast. F or T is simply the way it will come across.
For example. Si Te blast is way more detached (although can come across as furious/intense or emotional). It is not about values, emotions, what you or society shall value.
It is simply enforcing structure, work and order into the world (which can be social indeed).
An example of INTENSE social Si Te blast would be: "You guys really need to get a grip ! You cant simply run around and insulting each other all day. You either talk it out, do some introspection or you have to seperate. This is simply not working and i think you should work on your emotional processing and relationship to make things "work".
Wheras NF blast would be generally more focused on the actual value world: "The fact that you guys are still in such a disarray is horrible. Can you not see how much pain you are resulting in each other ? This turmoil is simply bad for you and you should stop and work on your emotional processing so we can have a nice athmosphere."
NF blast is of course way more concerned with the endgoal of vibe whereas Te is (even if social) still more concerned with functionality refering more detached to the going ons.

I do understand what this guy was supposed to illustrate, I just don't believe him. As an INTJ, I do a similar thing, but that's called survival. I would be the one showing teachers HOW MUCH I loved their subject and how interested I was in it, just so when the time comes they couldn't judge my answers( in exams) objectively and they would always tip in the direction of a better grade, just because they liked me.

I think not all of it is fake, yet maybe some. I had an INFJ friend who used to tell me about these energy stuff. She told me she sometimes sees "aura" around people depending on their emotional state. She told me also about moving the energy by hands and… weird stuff.
I'm here astonished because of the similarity between them two. Well maybe not everything shown here (or told to me there) is accurate, but I believe there is something.
At least they see the emotional patterns of the tribe and so they can deal with them somehow… It's intimidating that they see something inside people they themselves don't see.

    • @StanTheWoz
      @StanTheWoz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

After some more reflecting on this over time, I've realized that not only is this not nearly as scary as it might seem at first, but that I also do it.
If you've watched the video of Derren flipping heads on a coin ten times in a row, the exact same principle applies here. That kind of thing is really possible and did probably really happen, but a lot of things have to come together in order for it to happen that the magician doesn't show you - either lots of failed random attempts for the coin, or selecting a certain type of person at a vulnerable moment for this kind of manipulation. NF blast is really just an extreme form of the small stuff that you might do in conversation to appeal to people more, whether that's body language, emoting, linguistically framing something in a certain way, choosing what time to talk to someone about something, and the like. It can look completely crazy in some cases like in the video, but it's also minor stuff you might do reflexively and not even think about.

I just use a certain tone or look and then use the same look or tone or both to tie the thoughts and emotions i placed into a person into a feeling in the person. : ) This slightly changes the perception of a person and with practice and awareness i can realy get through to people well. And I know I can be passive aggressive. I don't know why it is so hard to just say something. It is like something is stopping me because I just want to observe and see what will happen. Also I don't feel comfortable telling someone what to do. I believe in the more Buddhist way. Change yourself or your own circumstances instead of changing others. Well clearly i’m not an nfj because all of that looked a bit much to me. like i know emotional suggestion is a thing, but i’m kinda also thinking ‘this is a bit extreme’. and im just wondering if there were any people resistant (ie for the second one) which were cut out to frame the narrative that this always works. because whilst there are things that bind us all together, there are a lot of factors that affect this. the most obvious being that a blind person wouldn’t be effected by his techniques. but then there’s also factors including whether the other person was in a trusting mood (someone who’s uber paranoid would probably not be as effected) and whether they catch your cues.
But then again i do know that emotional manipulation is a thing and i probably use it, just not that much. it’s really fricken hard for me to feel sympathy/empathy for anyone else’s shiz, with myself sometimes even feeling pissed off instead. I can tell, however, exactly how to act in order to show that it’s not the case and that i totally am relating. same again with conversations i’ve deemed unnecessary. many times i’ve listened for the cues in someone else’s voice and have made those acknowledgement noises (like ‘mmm’, ‘wow’ etc) which are appropriate based off of the tone of voice (do they want me to be amazed? agreeing? empathising?) and then i piece together quickly a picture of what they said through fragments i caught in order to make a little comment to further the idea that i was listening.
So i’m of two minds. yes, manipulation of emotion is very possible, im just sceptical of the reliability and the scale? idk, im tryna make sense of it lol.

I can't think of too many who are in Derrens industry, but looking at INFJS in other fields of interest. Perhaps look at how Marilyn Manson was with Music, Hitler was with Politics and swaying millions, Carl Yung was with his thinking and psychology, Plato with his Ethics and Philosophy, Remus Lupin as a fictional Character, or even Galadriel. These all display or present very abstract ideas, which many will bring forth as good, but some INFJs understand the weakness and exploitation of others minds, and used them as nesting grounds. Ni/Fe Can unhinge many of us INFJs because of the solidarity and isolation it brings, but for the most part, if it ever gets harnessed or settled, I believe it can be used for immense good.
If indeed Jesus Christ was an INFJ, reasons being his ability to constantly speak in abstraction/parables/symbolism, his unwavering need to be isolated from crowds to find reflection and time with the Father, the way he interacted with his disciples in a very intimate way, yet his conviction for the truth, which seemed to override everything so as to present it to the masses/crowds. He demonstrated a certain level of servitude to humanity, which I would be hard pressed not to see as a very Ni/Fe emulation of how we serve others.
A potentially fitting quote from this video could be:
“As a child I felt myself to be alone, and I am still, because I know things and must hint at things which others apparently know nothing of, and for the most part do not want to know. Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible.”

I ask him why he is upset, lay my hand on his chest, tell him sleeping is nice and comfortable, and you get nice feelings, touch his ear. Smack my hands together a couple times at the right words, saying how tomorrow is a great day. Tap his chest, lay him on his pillow and he is laughing. Think to myself, "Do I always manipulate his emotions? I didn't even notice how much I use my hands and psychological tricks, never paid attention to it, lol"

I need some help guys, I *believe* I am an ENFJ with savior SE demon NI
    play first, blast second.
(open to adjustments because I’m afraid after all my work I typed myself upside down)
If you ask any of my friends they will tell you I am a huge nerd and love to learn random stuff that I’m very passionate about for some reason.
I feel my consume is behind my blast however, because, the only thing I love more than learning is teaching, oh boy... I’ll teach for days.
The thing I’m mainly worried about is my TI.
I feel for an ENFJ I have a strangely strong TI. I don’t have any problem explaining why I believe things, ask me a question about what I believe and I will explain away. What I do is question MYSELF often when I am alone and have time to think.
    Is this normal?
let me know what you guys think and if I need to adjust my type.
P.S - I do a lot of normal ENFJ things like reading body language, not really having an issue with public speaking and being empathetic to people’s emotions. I almost didn’t see it at first because it comes so easy to me.
(Edit) after watching this video, I wish I was on darren brown’s level, but I do understand what he’s doing and how he does it.
I’m looking forward to maybe trying some of these tricks on some unsuspecting friends >:-P

INTJ here and I don't think that guy's trick would have worked on me. I think I would have picked up on his smoke and mirrors. To me, the whole time he sounded way too cagey. She seemed incredibly gullible. I probably would have played along with him on the surface, just out of curiosity to see where he was going with it but in my mind I'd be rolling my eyes. That's not to say NFJs don't do this. My Mom was an INFJ and I'm quite sure she probably manipulated me as a kid, for good reasons. We had a close bond. And I have an attractive ENFJ female friend at work who I find attractive (I'm an out lesbian) and she knows it and I DO think she milks it. She flirts just enough to keep me wondering. I know what she's doing and I play along, again, because I'm curious to see how far she'll take it. But I don't fall for it.

As an INFP, I can see that this might be possible. It's a bit of a long shot and has to be practised really well though. While I would say it is unethical to do this, I am guilty of having done similar things in much subtler ways. Though the intention was generally for the good of the people concerned, but that itself is subjective. Gentle changes in tone of voice, a higher physical ground of standing can be used to intimidate a person, so long as they seem to be incidental. Like, saying something to someone when you cross them on the stairs and pretending to remember it only after you are at the higher step.
The most frequently used one would have to be the vulnerability trick. When you play the card of exposing your vulnerabilities, people will almost always lower their guards, and might leak some personal story of a similar nature. Yet again, be as ethical as possible.

He made a guy late and miss his stop because he decided his little game was more important. It's probably not, and i'm probably missing a different reason/perspective here but to me it almost seems a little bit sociopathic/dark empath/loki trickster type/Machiavellian 🤷🏻‍♀️ Interesting that he seems to be so triggering to me.

So one of my classmates went up to him and asked him if he had a good memory and then swung his hand in the air and said something like "Poof, you forgot" And the professor actually remembered everything and asked that guy to show his homework first
