When the video reaches 1:38 That circuit you call a transistor is most likely a mosfet for the backlight, you can't test it while it's in circuit. When it is out of circuit, only one leg will register on the meter

I was measuring nearly a short over the capacitors in the output switching section. I started removing all the caps and resistors around there to find the short. Ended up being a bad Mosfet. As I was searching the net for parts, I ended up on this vid. Great video, you could have saved me a day of messing around had I known. 😩
Ya and by the way, I hate switching power supplies. Anyhow I ordered the mosfet, and it's back up working. 😀

If I put the multimetre on the power cable side of the fuse and at the output of the powerboard, should get some form of a reading ? Or is the circuit supposed to be broken somewhere until power goes through it ?

I have a Samsung UN32EH5000F. Replaced the power board and the main board but still cannot power on. What I have found when I unplug the backlight dim control I can power it on but not when is plugged back. The plug for the backlight dim control (CNL802) says D-, +5V, -5V, and D+. I have BLU power 4.86V to the backlight after some delay on the main board. Any clue what could be wrong? Thanks

My situation is, the backlight overall is fine all are bright I've been checked with led tester, but when turn on the power all backlight is not bright enough, the light is too low. What do you think? Is this power supply issue? Do i need replace a new motherboard?

I have a Samsung TV, model: UE40F6510AB, all usb ports are broken on the motherboard. At the moment there is no way to see .. Please tell me where to order? Or send me a link to a replacement product. Or send me a photo of the USB itself.

Have the same issue. Turns on and after a few secs will flicker then turn “off” won’t actually be off, can still hear the sound. Apparently powerboard led issue or tcon failure something of that line.

I have 32" UE32EH5000K and I`m in a pickle. I can see the picure with torch against the screen so problem with backlight, OK. I`ve checked power board and there is 240V going to LED strips (tested to ground) so next tested, with 30V battery, each of my 4 LED strips (10 LED each) and all fine. I`ve tryed disconecting the logic board but the back lights stay down. Any ideas?

The power supply usually fails if the leds are failing. Have to fix both.

IMPORTANT : BEFORE CHECKING ALL COMPONENTS : CHECK THE CAPACITOR IS EMPTY ! BECAUSE IT CAN STAY TO 300V EVEN IF THE TV IS DECONNECTED 😣

I purchased a motherboard from you a week ago for my Samsung TV and apparently this was not the problem. My TV red light on bottom flashes a series of two times (x2) then once, and repeats. The screen cycles through various light shades of color during this time but no picture.
I disconnected one at a time, one side of the LED jumper strips at the bottom of TV, my TV has two strips total, and the LED lights stop flashing for each time. After reinstallation of the strips the LED lights began flashing again as before.
I then disconnected the ribbon connected at the bottom of the TV and LED lights stopped flashing.
Im at a loss. Can you help?
    It would be much appreciated.

I thought the main board had to be connected in order for the power supply to power the backlights.

I think they meant to say, if the lights come on after disconnecting main board,, then the powersupply board is dead...

I have a BN44-00874F power supply board. The TV shows no power lights or back lights. With power disconnected, continuity test on fuse shows open. So I assume fuse is tripped. Which other components should I check on my board since this video is for a different board. Thank you.

    • @shopjimmy
      @shopjimmy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi! You can try replacing only the fuse. Sometimes this will fix the issue if the TV took a power surge. If the fuse blows again, look for shorted ICs, transistor and diodes in the primary section of the circuit board. Good luck and thanks for watching!

@Justin Loos I replaced the fuse but it blew out after plugging TV back in. So other issues shorting out in circuit board. I don't have the expertise to troubleshoot the entire board. Found a used replacement board online that did the trick. TV is alive again.
