This truck is interesting. Trying to earn customers from Ford with the improved interior and similar body shape. Also trying to take customers from the Tundra by offering only a solid V8 with presumably better gas mileage (tundras main gripe). The 5 year 100000 mile warranty shows that they stand behind their product

Nissan of today is more likely to deny a warranty claim then approve it. The standard line is the vehicle is operating as designed. I have owned 3 Nissans and I currently own a16 XD with the cumins, great truck crappy company! This will be my last Nissan. The AC on this truck is so loud I can hear it over the radio. Nissans response is it is operating as designed. I call bs every vehicle I have owned I have never been able to hear my ac over the radio.

I have a 2020 TRD Pro double cab on order to replace my 2004 Nissan Titan with 184,000 miles on it. But for the 2019/2020 year Toyota removed the auxiliary transmission cooler for no apparent reason other than cost cutting, now guys are consistently reporting trans temps well north of 200F. This 2020 Titan has me reconsidering my options, especially if I can still get a King Cab Pro4X in that awesome new sand color. I've had quite a few things break on my 2004 Titan, but I've beat the dickens out of it, lots of offroad. The one thing that has never failed, that 5.6 Endurance engine, its an absolute beast. Everytime I go from my POS 5.3 chevy Silverado back to my Titan camping rig, I damn near give myself whiplash because of the difference in power that the Titan has. Decisions decisions decisions. Another thing Titan had in spades, turning radius. Folks don't consider how important turning radius is when in 4 low on a jeep track.

Maintenance and minor repairs and she keeps on a running like new. With that being said, I just picked up a new 2020 Tundra TRD PRO Crew Max in Army Green and love the truck. I drive a 2018 xd gas 4x4, I used to have a problem with the 7spd's shifting, but it has honestly grown on me. I know it's stupid, but it has become my reluctant partner in crime. I want to cruise at 35 on surface streets? Nope, you cannot have 5th gear for any reason below 41mph. Want 1st gear? Not without a trailer attached (not sure if they all do this, but mine skips first unless it's in tow/ haul mode).Want to deccelerate quietly? No chance- It gear brakes the absolute second you remove your foot from the pedal (and thanks to the exhaust on mine, does its best jake- brake impersonation, loud and proud) I think it gives the truck some personality. It functions as intended, but doesn't make the experience seem to appliance-like, or let you forget that you are in a truck. I realize that i'm likely in the minority here, but the "touch of obstinate" the truck displays when being used for non-trucklike things, I find endearing, Like the truck is complaining about not being worked -put a 10k trailer on it, press the tow/haul button, and the programming makes perfect sense. The only thing I would change is that I wish the truck would remember the tow/ haul setting when you re-start it.

If I were to buy any other truck besides Ford, it would be this one! Nissan has done a great job with this truck! I like the design almost as much as the Ford and has me in a bind on which one to buy. Thanks for the review! Very nice honest content that's both informative yet also showing opinions on how things could and/or should be better. I've been subscribed to all of your channels for many years and enjoy the content you guys put out. Keep up the good work!

Nissan renewed the Titan and patrol as well in the same time but for Titan they change it from out and in side and you could call it a new generation. compared to Patrol which got just a facelift inside and outside.. the gear still the old one 7 speeds and the engine just accept premium to get 400 hp as V8 not talking about the V6 engine.
I wish that Patrol got the new gear with 9 speeds as Titan and also the ability to fill it up with premium to get the maximum hp or regular if I don't need all the power.
Thanks so much TFL team for the hard work keep it going 👍🏼

Nathan, I don't mind hard plastics at all. Soft materials don't last.
I ride with my arm up on the door too, but I also try to keep stuff well after it's paid for.
Soft touch stuff doesn't age well at all and it's not worth it to have a slightly more comfortable spot for my arm.

Also would love to see it on Ike testing. Maybe it was your mic/location but I was not impressed by the exhaust note.

I’m not a fan of Nissan but the Titan has come a long way, I am mostly interested in the longevity of this truck. The older models tend to be riddled with problems. It definitely one of the best looking trucks on the market. I want these designs to transfer to the Frontier as well

I want to see a different type of performance test. Take it to the track with a full payload and see how it accelerates with stuff in the bed from 0-55mph, which is average highway speed. And most importantly, test the breaks to see how long it takes to stop from 55-0.
Also see if the premium fuel makes a noticeable difference when towing on the IKE. Also turn radius test comparisons. Drag race comparisons too.
I think you should add this type of testing to your reviews.

What to do? Gold hitch comparison, against all other half tons. With the others using their standard engines, along with their most powerful. In the mix make sure one from each manufacturer are as close as possible in the drivetrain specs. Using the highest capacity of the lowest V8 rating, that means a 5.0 Ford, 5.3 GM, 5.7 Ram, 5.7 Tundra, 5.6 Nissan of course. Or as close as possible you can get!

My 2017 SL 5 ltr Cummins has been outstanding. You might be right about the 6 speed Isen transmission. It's a little jerky. I describe the truck as a 5/8 ton and tow a 7.8K T.T. with ease and average 14 m.p.g. The Cummins tow package is what sold me. 650 ft. lbs. of torque and a 12000k gross tow capacity.

It does NOT mean you don't like the product! So Nathan, a great job. Thumbs up. You'd get a thumb up on a Yugo review. Roman, let Nathan take steps off and take it on that road... I would love to see a real world test done between this, a tundra, and the trucks from one or all of the big 3 in the following way. Load it up with half of their payload and drive them on 25% highway, 75% back roads/city doing a 400-500 mile loop and let us know what the fuel mileage is, handling characteristics, road noise, driving impressions, and overall performance of the truck. Most half tons are not used as daily tow vehicles, so I'm not as worried about that as a buyer.

I think the best way to test it is by just doing average truck things with a lot of daily driver stuff added in. Everyone knows that if you need to go hardcore truck stuff, that this is not the truck for you. However if you need a truck for occasional things where you simply need a truck bed or to tow a light trailer or off-roading, then this truck might be a contender. Try showing me why that warranty is important and how much value it could represent over a lot of the competition simply ending their warranties earlier. I usually don't see a lot of trucks from 15 years ago still on the road but I do still see a bunch of gen 1 Titans.
