You should have kept the Wisconsin in it those things are bulletproof and will always run but great vids keep it up I love seeing the revivals
WOW! Barely twelve minutes in and I'm not sure if you are way too young, or I'm way too old. Your "buzz box" is the voltage regulator. The eight horse Wisconsin, like all Wisconsin single, are started by full fielding the generator. Your choice of replacement engines is odd, but it works for you. I have a 1050 Bolens that I rescued over twenty years ago with the ten horse Wisconsin. It comes out every year to clear snow with a 42 inch snow blower. Have fun and keep the kids involved.
I would love to see John tear it down and restore it . That would make a great series.
On your Bolens the little round type box , I'm 😅pretty sure is your Voltage regulator like the K series Kohler's. My 1964 854 Wheel Horse has a push button kind of like that on the points cover, but you have to hold it in for the engine to stop if you were working on it by yourself and couldn't vet back to the key switch. And mine don't say Stop Switch.
Long time channel watcher first time commentator. I think it would be cool to do like a resto on it . Like a series . I know it would be a bummer to find parts but I think it would be a cool series
John and you should fix up that blue step side for him so he can haul his tractors and minibikes
Wish I was closer and had the money my granddaughter would love it.
Hidden a step side bull nose in there.
Please give it some love. That need to see the light of day again.
I think you and John did Good by tearing it down cleaning it up and getting it going thank you for the video
I think Jon should keep that tractor along with his hot rod Deere. Tall rear tires with chains the overall look is perfect. I could see it in his eyes that tractor belongs to Mr Jon He’s right it’s pretty looking better then my new John Deere x380.
25:38 on the left side of the tractors rear end there should be a wing nut type thing if you tighten it it makes it Posi track and loosen it makes only one tire spin 👍
If I was close to You I would jump on that deal! I have been looking for one of those for years to use as a mini tractor.
Great video! Its always interesting to see what your going to do next. I would fix the Wisconsin engine and put it back in with that gear box and original engine it would be unstoppaable.
That box is a voltage regulator and the engine has a magneto under the flywheel and points on the side of the engine
That push button is for the starting because my dad's got one of the old Jim dandy mini tractors and it's got the same thing
I’d guess it’s newer than 1967. The S8D engines in 66 had a screw in dipstick. In 67 they switched to 12 volt and a saber style dipstick.
My unorthodox vote is take the sheet metal and build something like the diesel weasel ;)
I wish i lived close to Maine i would give you 300 if i was close.
Awesome video God Bless you and your family Amen
Keep it, it wasn’t hurting anything by sitting outside. The young man could use another tractor. Come on who couldn’t.
Have him go through the clutches and learn. For what you have into it you can’t replace it for that
Some times u have to sand the points on it
I would like to take that. Blue Ford truck.
Can't you find a way to use a totally different coil
Hmm, at 15:55 I think something is wrong with your replacement engine LOL. Oh John, we all love ya buddy, but you wouldn't make a very good lawn tractor engine, you gave up already HAHA!!!
We ain't gonna get mad at John, he's learning, and the only way he is going to learn is by doing.
It seems that particular garden tractor would be best served going to somebody that can work on them, and maybe either use it for parts or use it and put parts into it to get it running right with the right engine and a mower deck, etc. Or park it back under the tree for another 14 years HAHA!!! And let Jethro play on it like John used to LOL.
Yah several Bolens junkies have reached out. The machine is most likely a 1963 to 1965 with a 68 engine. Seems to the right person worth a few hundred for the transaxle and the body panels. But to the other 99% it's worthless.
After all that work why wouldn't you let John use it for his runaround, its obvious he wants to play on it, you have plenty of room to store it, it would be a good learning tool ie maintenance ect
That engine on the pressure washer is worth messing with. The intek is one of Briggs better engines
Kinda off topic but...I have a intec that won't run with coils kill wire attached but will run when I take them off? what do you think?
If it is a twin the separator diode has died.
@@redneckcomputergeek Yes it is.thanks
I will by it if I was close are you neer tn
