  • After eyeballing the Evolve GTR Electric Skateboards for years I finally pulled the plug and picked one up. I have used a Yeeplay and a Meepo prior and tried other electric boards but the Evolve Carbon just kept calling my name.
    Watch my real 1st impressions as I unbox and ride this board for the 1st time.

    Well Sean that is an awesome Board. Off-road, is the belt shielded or can small gravel get kicked up and enter the belt and cogs? What was the problem and solution you stated about the belt system? I initially thought wow, $2K and then thought about how much drones cost and they are not carbon fiber except for maybe the XDynamics Evolve 2 drone ( which I don't hear to much about? I think still in preorder @ $3,700). Awesome edit. have fun building your new studio.

    Hey man, im sorry before, if my comment is irrelevant to this video
    Im about to buy mavic air 2. I've seen your videos about it, but i have some questions, i hope you have time to answer this, because your answer will affects my decision to buy mavic air 2 (forgive me if my questions kinda long and my grammar is bad)
    When flying mavic air 2, did we always have to point the antenna to the drone ?
    Like, it has occusync 2.0 right ? So there should be no problem about the signal, (because occusync is unlike the wifi transmission drone which always depend with the signal between remote and drone, so we should always point it to the drone) right ? Or its not that simple ?
    Lets just say, if there's 4 scenario :
    1.If i flying it while facing backward with my remote against the drone
    2.If i flying it outside, but the drone through tall buildings, and i flying the drone around that tall building until the connection between the drone and remote is blocked by those building
    3.If i flying my drone when im at forest (full of trees) so the signal between remote and drone will have so much interference by the trees
    4.If i am inside my bedroom or my car while my drone is outside, where signal between drone and remote will completely blocked by thick wall or anything
    With those 4 each screnario, can i still control it until long range (lets just say more than 1 km) can i still do that ? Or if i did that the signal will get interference or lost instantly ? Did you ever did that kind of test ?
    This my other question is kinda had the same concept. Based on your experiences after flying your mavic air 2 so far, did you ever encounter signal interference ? If yes, is it happen often or rarely ? How many times did it ever happen to you, and what scenario that makes you get signal interference ?
    Thanks if you want to take your time to read my comment, id really appreciate that ! 🙏

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      occusynch is great but it is not straight magic. if you go behind skyscrapers it can lose signal. walls and so forth. you can fly from inside your car but you will not get as long a flight distance as you would if not having something blocking it.
      hope that helps.

      @@SeanOzz I have another question, if you don't mind, hehe
      Did you know the other drone type or brand (besides DJI) which has similar feature as Occusync 2.0 (special feature which gives great signal strength and video transmission even at long range or wifi polluted area, same concept as Occusync 2.0) or maybe DJI for now is the only brand which has this capability / special features ? Which means every other drone brand is wifi transmission drone ?

    • @AKA_TY37
      @AKA_TY37 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeanOzz nvm found it. And my original comment turns out to be true. As a guy who personally experienced a cutout on a brand new Bamboo GTR on its 3rd ever ride.
      And it is being labeled as user error, which could be true and happens all the time, it is a design flaw which traditional single throttle remotes will eliminate. My situation back then, with the bamboo GTR, was different. I pushed the board to its max, on a group ride hosted by Evolve Ambassador, that the ESC (controller) mosfet or capacitor (or sth) brewed, simply because I was riding at the marketed speed limit. Wheel was locked, (it is behaving like phase short) with the board on and off.
      As I, someone who test, review all the boards and other PEV, Evolve is not a trust worthy brand, at least with their boards. Even the Hadean is a ripoff, without mentioning the GTR2.
      (I assume this will trigger some evolve fanboys, but truths are usually unpleasant for some)

      I ride my evolve carbon all the time. My other boards are what I let friends ride now. I have yet to try cloud wheels or the ranger x3 but the trucks look cheaper to me on it for that price. The evolve trucks look a bit beefier. If it was under a grand I would try one myself. But I think the evolve for the price Diffenderfer is a bit nicer.

      I’m new into esk8.

      Pre ordering the mile board phantom. Back on February 25th.
      Looking into another but with AT wheels.
      On the fence like I want value for my money if I’m gonna drop 2k on a board.
      So I suppose recommendations?
      Should I jump in with a off the shelf evolve AT or even the onsra AT
      Or even more pricy Metroboard x
      Or with that money just take the time to learn and build a board myself
      Anyone build a board themselves?
      Where’d you look personally to get your parts for your build? Recommendations? For a diy board
      I’m looking for range and
      Power. For commuting mostly Top speed isn’t too much a concern
      Onsras is closest to my current push board

      @brookekathryn1980 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SeanOzz yeah you got to be ready to lean back pretty hardcore! I don't know if you can do it on the GTR but the GTX allows you to calibrate the brakes and set them up so they're a little bit more squishy so it doesn't lob you off the board.
      Which technically I guess is in the r2 remote more than it is the board.

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does. One problem is the brakes react different when going over 18-20 mph vs 16 and under. They have a drastic stop as if they want to suddenly slow the board which tosses those not expecting it. Similar to the yeeplay brakes. At slower speeds they work correctly. Hopefully evolve does a firmware update to correct his.

    • @brookekathryn1980
      @brookekathryn1980 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SeanOzz yeah you essentially have to set the expo on the brakes depending on the speed. I would first suggest doing a recalibration on the brakes and see if that fixes it. I used to have that issue but my buddy was really good about programming the r2 and took care of it for me.
