    Honestly this is why as a company I appreciate Evolve. Even after the tons of shit that get thrown at you, you still stay objective, look at the constructive feedback, look at what people were asking for, looked at how to make it possible and then put the work in to get it done. You're true to your name and that alone is exciting.
    Hopefully by July I will own a GTR
    PS: Would love to do a custom pyrography burnt and painted board for you guys to use in a give away or something.

    A newly Evolve owner. Got the bamboo gtr on all terrain. Love it. I’m 38 never skated before (but snowboarded for a few years now) started off not very confident but getting better and more confident everyday. The hardest thing to get round is not having my feet stuck to the board but everything else is very much like snowboarding. Love the double axle it’s turning circle is amazing . I’m hooked 👍❤️

    I bought the GEN1 Evolve Pintail 04/2013 that already was and still is a phantastic product, but I really love seeing that incredible development process, that Jeff pulled of meanwhile with his company and that incredible quality and performance of these boards accross all the board generations that he and his team developed ! Phantastic job - such a great product ! The flex battery is an ingenious idea - wow ! I bought my "GEN1 Evolve Pintail" in April 2013 as part of the very first 50 boards batch from Evolve's german distributor (Jens), and just now ordered a new battery for it. But I really think about to order one of these phantastic new Evolve Bamboo GTR boards. With its 500Wh (14Ah) the GTR has double the battery capacity, as my Gen1 Pintail with 250Wh (7Ah), but still is only 1,8kg heavier. The old Pintail with 7Ah weights 8,5kg and the new Bamboo GTR with 14 Ah only weights 10,3kg. Wow!

      Colorado Cadi those are simply the best boards on the market made from the best parts available, unlike mass produced esk8s. DIY are better in every way. These types of videos are what ABSOLUTELY sell product! I 100% will make a purchasing decision based on videos like this. I really like to see what went into production and testing. Testing is a really cool thing to see! The remote upgrade might be the most important. I haven't ridden an Evolve Board before but I have ridden a Boosted. The Boosted remote has consistently been reviewed by everyone as being the major selling point for a Boosted over an Evolve. It is great to see how much work went into the new Evolve remote and how much went into reading the battery percentage correctly. I hope that JUST as much work went into the FEEL of the remote. I know that was a problem for many people. Now, I want to really ride one of these. I will be buying either a new Boosted Stealth or possibly one of these Evolve GTR Series. I THINK I'd prefer the Bamboo because I'm used to the Boosted flex board. But I'd be stoked if there was somewhere where I could try the Bamboo vs the Carbon Fiber to see which I actually prefer. I love how the trucks actually turn the wheels! Especially off-road I'm sure that makes a big difference. I think the #1 benefit of the Evolve over the Boosted for me has been the off road wheels. That feature alone is what makes me want to get an Evolve, but now with all of these new upgrades... If the general quality overall has been upgraded to the point of a Boosted, then I can't see how Evolve won't continue to take a bigger and bigger market share. This video definitely did the trick to help bring people over. I'm semi-convinced, all it'll take now is a ride. I've gotta find a way to get one of these under my feet. That'll be the deciding factor for me. It is a BIG purchase decision. Can't really make it through a computer screen. I hope they have a Demo somewhere in Los Angeles!!!

      @MattNicassio 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jessepatterson8897 At the end of the day, there are too many individual things to research for me personally. Looks like both of those batteries are very highly trusted. I believe you if you're saying the 35E degrades faster. Looks like maybe they chose it for the extra MAH then?... What matters to me is real world performance and user reviews. Hopefully people will put this thing through the ringer quickly. No one's going to put thousands of miles on it within weeks of the thing releasing so we won't know how long it lasts for some time. But IMO, as long as it DOES last at least a few thousand miles before it loses say 10% of its original capacity, I'd be happy with that. Most of these batteries are meant to cycle 10's of thousands of charges. A board like this with such a huge battery pack will likely not require very many full cycle charges unless you're 30 mile commuting every day. And even with that type of use I'd expect it to take thousands of charges before it has any negative effect. Which should mean a few years of riding every day. Worst case scenario is you have to buy a new battery. Thankfully it is modular. The range increase over the Boosted is likely enough for anyone comparing the battery. My only gripe so far is the controller which I look forward to trying for myself. I really did like the wheel on the Boosted Controller. Very easy to go Slow/Fast/Brake/Reverse. This has separate triggers for go/brake, which I look forward to trying. And so far I see no reverse??.... That's strange. It is nice being able to backup at a stop light for example. Sometimes you don't stop quickly enough and you've gotta get out of the intersection, and fast!

    Improvements:
    The on/off switch and charging port should be tightened with a rubber spacer on both sides, Loctite + a water tight seal/glue and not hot glue at the inside.
    I would appreciate if the black griptape is non-residue for changing the decal or mods on the board.
    Predrilled holes for the motor mounts, so customer can add mods like handle or lights down there.
    Don't do that much screen printing next time, keep it cleaner - as like the Carbon GT bottom part.
    Better screws for the GTR series!!! I can't barely open the top plate of a carbon GTR anymore... Didn't had that issue with the GTX.
    My ideas of improveable parts:
    - R2 Remote could be much more improved, using less free space, lower price, better construction...
    - Motor cable re routing throught the inside of the board, so you plug the motor connections to the end / under part of the Board. That would improve the changing time for the Trucks (AT and Street Set).
    - Offer Polished trucks, gold ones or silver?
    - Make the app more useful (a lot of people in Switzerland don't use it anymore because it doesn't do what it once promised).
    - Magnetic charging port for the remote as well as Board
    - A further screw hole for the end of the cover plate of GTR Carbon or a system where you slide at one point and lock on the other side (like TV remotes?) - screw parts will stay.
    - spare spacers for the wheels
    - online shop with more spare parts (eg. not listed R2 LCD part)
    - hidden bluetooth network (everyone could connect to it), it should be only findable with the Evolve app - like Yuneec eGo .apk for example.
    - guide for beginners printed on the box - tightening trucks, balancing, standing position, QR code for youtube
    I own 6 Evolve boards and some others. Got a lot of experience in it and love it :)

    Wow ! Good point to take the risk to explain in details the new production with all these new features. Like a well done Apple communication with technical details for gift. Hoping that you decided to permit Bamboo GTX users to upgrade to the new electrical system + BT R2 remote. I bought my loved GTX for a week, the first day of 10th anniversary special deal, how can it be an anniversary great deal if this reference is stick into past with no provided upgrade offers ? Hoping that could be a reality 😉

    It's really great to watch how you make these boards. I picked up my own GTR bamboo a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. The smooth carving it provides is just fantastic! The only downside I had, was that after just a week the outer stripes of griptape started to lose contact with the board. Luckily I had some Paradox griptape lying around from years ago and it's actually very similar to what you are using, so I just replaced it and haven't had any issues since then :) The app I only use for the custom setup feature. For some reason it tracks my rides but with no map displayed, so sadly I went back to using Endomondo for this. Also, I miss an option to delete a ride in the app if you just did some short test run and don't want to save it.

I believe they would sell extremely well and I personally prefer them so much more than the 7's but am stuck using MBS ones which wear out a little too quickly..

In saying that, I am a 4wd hub motor guy having built my own custom board with 110mm x 55mm PU wheels. The 4wd setup takes the board to the next level IMO. Enclosed hub motors are more protected from sand and water. Love your work tho.

    Hey evolve skateboards! If I start at the top of a hill with 100% battery and head downhill with the brakes on where does the energy generated by the motors go? Will it overcharge the batteries or is there a heatsink to dissipate the energy into the air as heat? Or will it not have any braking???

    • @Ro-12-21
      @Ro-12-21 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Speculating but based on the degree of development that has gone into the GTR it would be a good bet that there will be no concern about overcharging. That issue has been solved in most cheap Chinese boards already.

    • @ericm8811
      @ericm8811 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Ryan Gordon! I agree but would like to know! One possibility is they only charge the battery to 90% capacity but have the battery charge indicator read 100%! That leaves some room for the breaking energy. Second is a heat sink that would cost more and weigh more than that first option but would allow more range! I wonder would the extra batteries weigh more than the heatsink if you made the battery smaller? Ride ride ride!

    • @sciencebug314
      @sciencebug314 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      afaik there is no heatsink. the battery can be overcharged a little, which is enough for most cases. but if you start down a long hill, with a really fully charged battery, expect to loose most/all braking power eventually.

    Hi I am a 56 year old Kiwi father of two boys and I have been looking for the right board to buy, after watching the video I'm sold on the sound of the quality and I will take the next steps today to to move closer to purchasing the new GTR Series Board and if it all works out I will be back to kit out my boys, is there any outlets in Auckland NZ were I can See and try your boards? being an old boy with scars to prove my commitment but also to show my absolute floors in skills I am just stuck on which board to get, I am leaning to bamboo for the look and I think the feel it will give me, anyway let me know where I can go to see a boards. Thanks Regards Stephen Ps Congratulations On a slick presentation with no bullshit like a lot of the other board manufacturers.

    Wow you guys have really stepped your game up. I haven't checked in on electric skateboards in years, and just "entered the market" for one about a week ago, perfect timing. Awesome idea making this film, just shows the crazy amount of work you put into improving the new model. 30 mile range is absolutely bonkers.
    Question. Do you have to order either the travel-friendly battery OR the big one? Or can you swap them out (probably wouldn't influence my purchase I don't have plans to fly with one).
