    In the Netherlands you can get good discounts (say 30-40%) on a large portion of the sets (with some patience), but we usually do not have anything crazy like walmart clearance with 70% off.

    The USA may offer more possibilities and flexibility for Lego investment due to the insane sales you sometimes get. Germany e.g. is way more "moderate" in sales and rebates. So I have to work with smaller margins. Also, legal regulations like recycling of packages and return policies for private customers do make life not easier.

    I buy and sell using Vinted. It’s not a perfect platform by any means, but it’s extremely easy to use. There are no fees for the seller, and shipping is a very straightforward process. So fat from where I’m based you are connected to the Iberian, French, Italian, Belgian and Dutch markets.

    Price and sale differences between regions like you are talking about 1/2 way in, are basically why I was able to ship 23 Hagrid Huts to a buyer on Bricklink in The Netherlands back in summer 2022, for about a 100% ROI. I was able to pick them up for 50% off right before retirement, and they sold about 8 months later. Must have been locally hard to find for a good price and/or in quantity. It makes total sense if resellers there had a higher priced starting point on that set.
    I've had a handful of large international orders on BL but that was by far my best sale to date.

    I think it can work everywhere, but it´s best to invest in small sets and sell in huge amounts. ideally you have a person helping on shipping

    So many things regarding reselling seem to be easy in the US. Lower prices, lower tax, cheaper shipping etc..

    Uk its difficult. Sets don't sell too well. Long wait for a return. When a set retires u gotta keep it for like 3 years till it can be sold for a decent profit. Minifigs do ok but then it's impossible to get figs in bulk at a price worth investing in.

    Selling Lego (and other ‘toy/kids’ related’ items except for certain ‘trending exceptions’ are (far) more profitable when re-selling in North America. I guess the brands are more included in society. Compare it to adults going to Disney. In the US, and I go there often, adults talk about it and just have a fun time. And everyone agrees. Because it is a good time they are having. Here in Europe people tend to have an excuse so they do it for their kids (except for the younger adults and young couples). So, it is not widely accepted/introduced yet, or folks are not as open as in the US for example. So we here won’t go all out, all the way, to get that set. Enough people do. But not in the extense it pushes the price up even further. Social econimcs. Plus the market is smaller indeed. You often sell within your own country. And in Europe there are many. The US which has the same size is 1 country. ..Anuway, buying expensive Lego or spending bucks, on what is considered, kids toys and enttertainment, is perhaps the best way to put it ‘accepted’ / ‘common’. I do think Western Europeans, and Eastern and Southern Europeans even more so walk behind quite some years on this. This does reflect on general sales off certain sales in partilcar catagories. Its just a tad less far accepated to spend big bucks on what is considered kids enterainment. Have to undelrine it is accepted widely, but not as long and wide-spread, yet, as it is in the US. So, it is profitable, but almost always less (i look at the net sales) compared to when I sell in North America.

    Hiya, I'm an 11 year old eBay investor, you're vids are fantastic, but I wanted your thoughts on investing in the London/New York Skyline sets retiring? They're predicted to be at £60 in 2026 but I'm not sure seeing the longer lifespan of the sets. I only thought of newly sealed Lego investing a couple of months ago, so what do you think?

    • @bensbrickstore
      @bensbrickstore 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's awesome and congrats for getting into this at such a young age!
      London and NYC skylines are not retiring yet. It sounds like you might be referencing the Brick Economy site. I really wouldn't trust that site, it is not reliable. Many investors have been burned by their retirement predictions. You would be better off with the Brick Fanatics retirement list (October update), and/or Shane's retirement list (you might need your parents to sign up for that).
