Me too! I seen that movie so many times that I memorized every word, (well practically, lol) in the movie and on the sound track! Best movie ever!
Memories. I was a college freshman, on Spring Break. Dirt cheap tickets and a chance to see Montrose, Santana, and Frampton. I wasn't a big fan of Barbara Streisand at the time, but that changed. To get to stand near the stage, I got there before the sun rose and didn't leave until after Frampton's encore. Watching Santana jam with Frampton was memorable. What a day.

@@snarkyenigma9219 It wasn't much of a concert with Streisand. And when you are 18, and not really into her music, at that time, it was kinda meh. She tried to get the crowd up by calling us mother f***kers. She did sing "The Way We Were" and her new song "Evergreen". Of course, now, I can appreciate her music and can say I saw Barbara Streisand perform.
I too was there that day they filmed this at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe Arizona . Scorching hot that day, I haven't seen the movie in years and I think I can see myself in the crowd as we were in about the 2 or 3rd row back from the front of stage.... was a long day of shooting, I was 18 at the time....
I was 21, do you remember they spayed the fire hoses over us to cool us down? Man, that was HOT! I got so sunburned that day, I coudnt work for 3 days after!
I LOVED this movie with Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand! This was the BEST "A star is born" film ever!
I too loved this movie and saw it many many times here in UK back in 70’s …. They were a great screen love match ❤
This much better than 2018 version
I was at this concert. It was all day long, very hot outside. I was disappointed Peter Frampton came on last and I had to leave for work before he came on but I worked closeby at Pizza Hut and could hear him from there. Great times back then!

I was there, the day this was filmed...This is filmed at Sun Devil Stadium, April 1976. Bill Graham put together this concert, which was used as a backdrop to film Barb and Kris segments, for the remake of A Star Is Born...the concert, that day, featured Graham Central Station, Santana, Montrose and Peter Frampton.. I remember, it was an un-usually hot, April, Saturday. It was a very fun day!
I was there also and was talking today with a friend today and we could not remember what the flyers the Goodyear blimp was dispersing amongst the crowd were about,,,,hehe,,,,flashbacks with sketchy details r us,,,,😜😜😂😂😂😂✌🏽️❤️
I remember when that copter dropped the fliers..not sure what was printed on them. I was 9 at the time, but remember it, like it was yesterday.

still remember the crowds and sounds in the stadium as if it were yesterday. ... and what a lineup .. gosh good times
It was very organized for that many people....I remember they said that over 10 thousand people were outside the stadium on the hills and such, remember that?? The official amount of people in the stadium was just under 60 thousand....but they told us that day it was 80 thousand. Great concert, great times.....no problems. Great memories.

Her name in the "A Star is Born" movie was Esther. Remember the scene from the movie when he spray painted her name in a stairwell? I had a boyfriend at the time that spray painted my name on the side of an apartment building. REAL BIG, too.

I was 13 when I saw it. Loved it. Remember I was 13 and it was 1976. I thought it was the saddest greatest love story. Forgive Barbara for a little overacting. Her singing nails it. It is so 70s in all ways. If you never lived it, watch thus movie. The days of arena rock. Kris was bang on as an aging burnt out rocker. A lot of people say his voice is not the best, himself included, I disagree, l love the sound of his voice. Check out him singing "Sunday morning comming down" on his Austin sessions cd. Johnny Cash won a Grammy for it, but Kris wrote it and I like his version best.

I remember the guy diving off the stage in this concert scene and it’s hysterical!
😄 it really is. Meanwhile this is 1 of the most romantic movies ever made imo.
I'm o ly posting this to my sister and Kelly and the other girls who went to this event with us! Brings back memories.
We were there in the heat (as 16 yr Olds, and my dad let me take his car to drive all those girlfriends) and it was crazy and fun. Tammy and I were only a few from the stage. In the actual movie you can see us. IF YOU KNOW WHAT WHERE AND WHAT YOURE LOOKING FOR . HAHAHA. Once we moved to Arizona; our entire lives changed, and we had crazy days.
Elvis was Streisand's original pick to play the role that Kristofferson played, but Col. Tom Parker wouldn't allow Elvis to do it and take 2nd billing to Streisand. That I think was the final heartbreak for Elvis. Had Elvis played the roll he would have knocked it out of the park. He would have got in shape, and possibly lived a lot longer than he did. I absolutely love Kris Kristofferson and his songwriting, but he was not a great vocalist like Elvis was. When I see this movie, I think of Elvis and what might have been.
You're right and I agree. However I did read somewhere that whilst Elvis was initially totally up for it, get back to his first love of acting, and with a meaty role for once, he then considered the amount of work and pressure this would actually entail. He was in bad shape 75-76 drugwise and so chose to revert to his concerts. But it's certainly one of the great 'what might have beens' I agree. Real pity he couldn't have pulled himself up to do it despite his manager.
Paul Colville Parker wouldn't let him. Presilla said Elvis wanted this movie so bad and to take a break from the constant tours but Parker saw $$$ in the tours and Elvis being loyal didn't stand up against him.
I feel that Elvis never got a chance because of Colonel Parker. I hate that he held him back.

Joe Black No it wouldn't. Because Barbra S was the creative force behind it, that's a reason Parker wouldn't let Elvis do it because Parker wouldn't have had a say in how the film went. Elvis would have knocked this out of the park, like he did with the movie Flaming Star, a western where Elvis sings just once briefly. Other than that it's a great dramatic performance.

I had saved my ticket in a scrap book for over 40 yrs., but lost the book? The tickets were cheap, even for 1976, as they wanted to draw a large crowd. I think I remember them being $4. (it was either 4 or 7?) We had gotten there at 5am and left at 10pm-ish? Standing for 90% of the time!

The new version doesn't even come CLOSE to this one... characters weren't as developed and I just didn't 'believe' in the romance of Gaga and Bradley Cooper.... you just BELIEVED that Kris and Barbra were in love, the way they looked at each other....hated the new one!

It was a very long day. We had to be there at 6:00 a.m. as I recall. It would be cool to see the concert again. Minus the John Normal/Kris Kristofferson stuff at the beginning, of course, that went on forever.

This was Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona and the temps were reportedly hitting 100 degree ... I never understood WTF she was doing in a fcking LONG sweater and jeans.
yes, she changed her clothes several times during that day....even white leather outfit, nylons and go go boots....it had to have been a sweat box for her. What actors will do for a movie eh!!!
Haven't seen this version and I love Barbra Streisand. It actually looks like a good version of A Star Is Born and doesn't look as bad as people make it out to be. Kristofferson and Streisand actually look like a good couple in this movie.
