Quite possibly the best EVER vocal performance, when not really even trying. The best female vocalist of all time, singing a song that will forever be...evergreen.
If you like Barbra, I strongly recommend you listen to Sissel Kyrkjebo - Norway's national treasure. Start with "Wait A While", then "Slow Down". You won't regret it. If you've seen Titanic, you've heard her voice.
Every once in a while I want to listen to Barbara singing this beautiful song. This song is magic, I'm 65 now and the sweetness still brings tears to my eyes
I was twelve when this came out, it was on the radio all the time. Now that I am 58, I have revisited this and again realize what a masterful piece of work this is. Kudos to you, Barbra Streisand!
if you listen on a top notch audio system, the complexity of the sound she created is amazing. it's not like the crap they throw out on radio today - compressed and flat sonically. Barbra spent months perfecting a depth of sound on her tracks - it's simply unimaginable that artists now would put in the effort, or could even do it.

Yes, I read that this was recorded live in one take. She is not lip synching. Barbara wanted to do it live because she wanted it to be natural and intimate, given the close-ups with KK. It still gives me goose bumps. It's beautiful because it's real and not studio-sounding! I like how he gives up and just lets her sing. Ha! So beautiful. By the way, I always thought Kris K. was SO sexy! I know she originally wanted Elvis for the movie. I love Elvis, but her chemistry with KK is off the charts! BTW, this movie is one of my guilty pleasure. I prefer it to all the other versions including the Bradley Cooper/Laga Gaga one. But I'm old so I guess I'm showing my age LOL!
She had a amazing vocal range. Such a strong clear spoken, iv never listen to a song of hers where I didn't catch my breath at some point of the song. Literally breath taken singer.
Yes, it was a shame. Colonel Parker was horrible to him. He farmed it out to anything that would make a buck. I still like watching some Elvis movies though, kind of a guilty pleasure. One of my favorites is Viva Las Vegas, mostly due to his chemistry with Ann-Margret. She's one of the only female stars I've seen that could command the stage and hold her own with Elvis.
I don't know if Elvis would have been opened to the movie where a woman would be the leading star.He did start expanding his acting when he took on Change of Habit. But like someone has sad the Colonel stifled that opportunity.Elvis had it in him to be a dramatic and comedic actor just those movies were his bread and butter.Had he been in a Star is born he would of nailed it if he just let it go with Barbara.
My God... a voice truly touched by the finger of God! No one can compete with Barbra from 1965-1979! Truly like nothing on earth! Effortless, intense, smooth... and what does she ever breath? I guess not, cause it's Evergreen! Well deserving of her second #Oscar win!! Barbra you will always be the standard for any female pop singer!! And this is live with NO auto-tune!
I went to see Barbar Streisands, a star born seven times. She is the best female singer I have ever known. Tone perfection with every note. ❤ her voice and acting.
I have always loved this song. I remember listening to it on the radio back in the day when we listened to our local radio stations and this was a hit - number 1 for a few weeks on Billboard’s weekly top 40. It is hard to imagine something like this topping the charts today- not because it isn’t still beautiful but because no one writes songs like this anymore.

She does.....just an amazing artist and woman!❤️🌹🇮🇹
This is quite possibly one of the most perfect songs that I have ever heard.
Barbara has been blessed with a most beautiful voice.
One of the most beautiful and moving songs i ever heard. Her work is masterful!
But she didn't write it..so how is it her work...?
Of course she wrote it. She won an Academy Award for writing this song.
@@loup4343 dude..just because a singer wins an award for a song doesn't mean they wrote it, they could of just recorded it.. Paul Williams wrote the lyrics to Evergreen...
Not One, The Most Beautiful and Moving song I have ever witnessed and will ever witness.
@@jerrysimmons6508 she did write it dummy and became the first woman to get an Oscar for writing a song.
She is and always will be the greatest singer of all time. Such pure notes such range. So beautiful
I would have loved to have heard her do a duo with Karen Carpenter.
@@paulalexandermanley6479 *duet
There is no doubt Barbra was /is a brilliant singer, "greatest of all time" well that's debatable, I think personally no one can come close to Celine Dion. Each to their own though.
Wonderful singer yes. Greatest no. She can not touch Whitney, Stephanie Mills, Minnie Riperton or many other talented black singers who do not get the credit they deserve.
Sorry Karen Carpenter
Still listening to her in 2024....love all her songs! ❤
Been married to the love of my life for over 40 years! This was playing when I first laid my eyes on her, live at first sight, and I love her even more today ❤❤❤
2021 still one of the most beautiful songs ever written still
Like top 10. For sure.
2021, to infinity and beyond.
@@poglej Paul Williams wrote "Evergreen"
@@jpurcha The sublimely beautiful 'Evergreen' was composed & written by Barbra Streisand, with lyrics by Paul Williams.
They won the Oscar in 1977 for Best Original Song - the 'Love Theme' for the film 'A Star Is Born'.
I agree 100 percent
I'm 62 years old and misting up over my "memories". No pun intended. This song took the world by storm. Couldn't count how many times I sang this at weddings and there was never a dry eye in the house. She is truly the best songwriter and vocalist ever in my opinion. Thank you Ms. Streisand are so many beautiful moments!
Paul Williams wrote the lyrics to this song.
Williams also played little enos in Smokey and the Bandit. And did the singing and song writing on Bugsy Malone.
She never wrote a song or musical note in her life.
I get goosebumps every time I watch this scene. Timeless.
Absolutely right now over and over again brings back memories❤❤❤
One of the greatest voices of the 20th century.
this is 100% my comfort song. She is a legend

One of my favorites. Beautiful voice.awsome.❤❤
I think that expression on his face at one point was Kris K. just in awe of the voice and talent in front of him. She truly is extraordinarily gifted.
OH. MY. GOSH. When he entwines his hands with hers. Have we all not been there? I so love this moment. Thank you to Barbra and Kris.
No, but I'm willing to learn.😊
Mmmmmm, yes i have been there.
Barbara Walser where ever you are, this was our song. Didn't realized that when we waved goodbye to each other back in 1978 I'd spend the rest of my life missing you. I am still thinking of you knowing that somewhere back in time will always belong to us.
Wow. Precious memories.
I remember seeing this movie at a drive-in theater. I wish i could go back to that wonderful time in my life. Love was so much more back then.
Perhaps the greatest entertainer of all time.
All great singers, musicians, actors make it look so bloody effortless.
This woman has a talent that just paralyses you. You can’t easily put into words just how exceptional she is.
I agree I love
She's a gift for us mere mortals.

Barbara our National Treasure! Love this one, remembering this from the movie and was in amazement of how great and emotional The Star Is Born made me feel at a young age! We love you Barbara 💕, iconic you are and thanks for sharing, posting this for a flashback. @BarbaraStreisand Still viewing, listening 03/02/2024.
Quite possibly the best EVER vocal performance, when not really even trying.
The best female vocalist of all time, singing a song that will forever be...evergreen.
Barbara Streisand - 1 of the best female songstress of all time.
Karen too
Her voice is like fluid!! Don’t care for her political beliefs but she is an amazing singer !
@@Kathleennebel Dang! You folks leave no stone unturned.

Agree . I can’t get enough of Kris and he’s humbleness. He will always be my biggest crush
Imagine having a voice like that ! Incredible.
This song is one iconic love melody our generation, thank you Barbra for you voice and talent.
A most unqiue voice ,funny ,talented, love her humour.Thank you so much❤❤❤❤❤
I was twelve when this came out, it was on the radio all the time.
Same age Norm. Absolutely stunning vocal, unbeatable!
Tengo 55 y la descubrí a los 17, desde entonces no he podido parar de escuchar su música. ♥️🇪🇦
@Hello Norm how are you doing
Me too…my late mom played this over and over. Now in my 50s I get chills listening to it, every time, it’s so beautiful.
No matter how much I watch this, I am still so hypnotized!
Me too ❤💯.
What a golden voice and the lyrics are hypnotic. One of the prettiest love songs I have ever heard.❤❤❤
Bewitching almost ethereal. I get goosebumps every time I hear this. Wonderful.
Love, soft as an easy chair
Love, fresh as the morning air
One love that is shared by two
I have found with you
Like a rose under the April snow🌹
I was always certain love would grow
Love ageless and evergreen 🌲
Seldom seen by two
You and I will make each night a first
Every day a beginning
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed💫
They warm and excite us
'Cause we have the brightest love
Two lights that shine as one💥
Morning glory and midnight sun
Time we've learned to sail above
Time won't change the meaning of one love🔁
Ageless and ever evergreen 💕 Songwriters: Williams Paul H / Streisand Barbra

Thank you for the lyrics to this beautiful song 💕
Nice
I appreciate your posting of the lyrics.
Her voice is smooth as silk! Amazing....
She has one of the most extraordinary❤ voices of all time!!💕
My wedding song, he's gone now tragically, 40 years together, Happy he's at Peace. Thanks Barbra for your beautiful voice.
I would still have loved to see Elvis in this role. He never got to do any movies that he felt proud of.
Never seen her lip synching once. I'm a BIG fan!
Yes
Judy Garland !!
Read somewhere it was just one take, awesome.
Karen Carpenter 😊
Yes, she is evergreen
One of the sweetest and most honest moments in this film. Brings me to tears.
One of the most beautiful and incredible songs of all time and the most gorgeous voice!!!!
Her voice was at its pinnacle here. It’s simply sublime. What an artist. ❤️
Yes. I agree. She was at her pinnacle. Stunning. I don’t care for her politics but this performance shows why she was untouchable.
She has one of the most beautiful voices ever. It's so pleasing !!!? ❤️
It is hard to imagine something like this topping the charts today- not because it isn’t still beautiful but because no one writes songs like this anymore.
..she smiles when singing, she's art 💙

Her voice truly is from the soul. A resonance that can't be replicated or manufactured.
