Great video Steve! You’re welcome. I got it used quite a while back. I didn’t make any changes to it. That is the way I got it. You got it back together much faster than I ever did. I’m glad you like it.

Steve great video love your passion ! Caterham was a Lotus 7 dealer Who bought the rights of Colin Chapman to produce the Caterham 7 basically Mk3 model which they are still producing and developing to this day. Scalextric Have produced a Lotus Sprint version also. Keep up the good work Cheers Jim

The Prisoner Lotus 7 was a super seven series 2, which used the axle from a standard Vanguard. The Caterham is based on the Lotus 7 series 3, which had a wider axle from a Ford Cortina. Monasteries 2s didn't have indicators, or had them retrofitted. Indicators were only fitted as standard on the series 3 onward.

Hi Steve. In answer to your question about how old your Scalextric Caterham is the short answer is likely from the year 1999 or 2000.
Got the information from looking at my Scalextric Edition 40 Catalogue from 1999.
Over pages 30 and 31 of that Edition 40 is news of new tooling cars with photos of four full size cars. Two Lotus 7 cars and two Caterham cars with the notes they were for release in August 1999 and liveries to be determined.
The bulk of the two page spread was of the Coldstream sponsored car that your model replicated. So that may have indicated a plan for that car or generated demand for that car.
By Edition 41 in 2000 on pages 28 and 29 they illustrated eight production cars with four of them labelled NEW and four seeming to be already in production. Four each of Lotus 7 and Caterham versions with seeming to be evenly split between road trim and race versions. A rear elevated view of the C2201 Coldstream model Caterham like yours takes up two thirds of page 28. My newer catalogues are not to hand to show when new liveries replaced the C2201 in the range. This was common practice once nearly everyone who wanted that livery had it, so new liveries were introduced.
Searching TH-cam for Scalextric Caterham shows up a New Zealand shop and Scalextric usefully showing new release versions from early 2016 and late 2017. This late production period is good news in that the tooling is therefore likely to have escaped the very sad destruction of out of production tooling that happened around 2009 by a new set of mangers at Scalextric. So it may be possible for it to be produced again if demand exists.
On the subject of how Caterham is pronounced I would ask if you had some visitors to Cater for with Ham you might have in you mind Cater Ham to show the the Caterham and not a Catamaran boat.
Almost most people with an English influence to their English speaking would drop the H in the Ham part. Like most people discussing a Caterham like this young lady :
