Smartest thing they could have done … honestly weird that every country wouldn’t do this and create domestic wealth instead of shovel it out to foreign billionaires or corporations.

@@Sam-fv5ze doesn’t take much to amuse you it seems haha! But really why would you allow outright foreign ownership of businesses in your country? What would be the benefit especially for the US? China only allows 50% ownership for foreign company’s and makes them take on a Domestic partner.
This should be the way all country’s should treat foreign investment for profit. Allowing foreign companies to come in and extract wealth out of your country should always be highly regulated.
Also Domestic company’s who or seeking Patent or using the US governments regulation systems to stake Intellectual Property should be highly regulated to export that IP to other countrys . How you would allow them to build all of there modern factories in foreign country’s only to then bring back in there products with zero tariffs is idiotic. But that’s what’s happened the last 40 years now and oddly enough all of the Fortune 500 largest domestic Company’s all chose China as there future homes. The Chinese government was at least smart enough to incorporate 50% ownership in all those endeavors to there domestic population. They or way smarter than the western country’s and will for sure win in the long run already they produce the best of nearly everything that exist and it’s just going to become more one sided from here sadly.
I don’t see the humor in Russia Nationalizing essentially McDonald’s haha not sure why you think it’s funny.
But it does make sense for all foreign country’s that have McDonald’s or
KFCs or Coke Pepsi etc… to all operate freely in there country’s why wouldn’t they just nationalize them or go about the 50% domestic partnership way China does so they can enrich there own country equally as much as another country’s billionaires or stock holders.

America were different because the smaller "Soviet" potatoes did not make long fries. Over the next decade, McDonalds enabled Russian farms to produce to acceptable standards and their supply chain was established. They got out of the farming business and set about expanding their stores with adequate supplies and quality of product guaranteed. This is what they have left behind - Quality Improvement Processes. Good job, goofballs. You gave up $800+ million of annual revenues to support a cause that won't exist in 12 months. The same thing goes for Europeans who are the biggest losers in all this. Russia is the one promoting war, not America. You, westerners, are completely blind and ignorant to what happens in Russia, and what they are feeling. Russia has been returning to militarism, revanchism, and imperialist ideas since the early 2010s. Anyone who followed just a bit of Russian media, or look at what books they had in the libraries (you would be shocked by the amount of Stalinism promotion that has been going on since the 2010s), knew that Russia has been preparing for this invasion for nearly a decade. You in the West idolize Putin, and Russia, and think that Russia wants peace and harmony, all while Russian politicians, officials, intellectuals, and civilians, had been going on about Russia being surrounded by Fascists and the fact that is Russia's fate to rebuild the Soviet Union to its former glory and destroy the US and Europe since the cold war ended, but even more so in the past 12-15 years.
