    They run on dirty energy and blood of children as young as 6.
    Electric cars drive human rights abuse and child labour.
    China is one of the villains in this story.
    Are electric carmakers equally guilty too?
    Palki Sharma Upadhyay tells you.

    The lack of a conversation around the cradle to grave impact of EV isn’t just infuriating. It’s also a sign that the real reason behind this push isn’t benevolent and is mostly likely a mechanism to increase control by completely centralizing travel.

    • @orthopraxis235
      @orthopraxis235 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Centralizing Travel (really human mobility) is the CENTRAL thrust of the green revolution. Stupid people here in California US do not even think much at all beyond what they are told. Let alone this nonsense of disbanding sales of gas cars by 2030. What do they think will happen once everyone is forced to rely on electricity. We already don't have enough on a hot summer week, now they want to go green its so obvious what the plan is.

      Completely centralizing travel by encouraging everyone to buy their own e-car instead of bus/bike? Cars that can be recharged by fuel from a variety of sources, hydro-electric or nuclear or trickle charge solar, rather than relying on a handful of big oil companies?

      @@lukebryan1848 You make good points, but how many sources of 110 or 220V electricity does the average American have in their house or apartment block? Probably one power company. I don't buy into the idea that EVs are being used to control travel, but cobalt mining doesn't seem cleaner than the oil industry, and EVs aren't the environmental panacea they are presented to be. That cleaner future, I think, is still a long ways down the road.

    Paiki Sharma is a good host/presenter. Always e-cars get the big blame. Lithium and cobalt are in many things. E-scooters, e-bikes, laptops, phones, toys, electric tools and so on. Cobalt is for example also in colors for painting. And don't think that diesel or gas cars are a clean business and do not hurt human rights. We are consuming and wasting way too much. LESS or even radical less is the way to go. Going on foot or riding a regular bicycle is making less problems. Building and riding evs or gas or diesel cars is always making big problems.

The metals and chemicals utilized in the electronics of ev's are very toxic to humans. Many places use coal generated electricity so now we are compounding the human health and environmental harm by charging toxic electric cars with coal generated electricity. When the ev batteries reach the end of their useful life they are extremely toxic waste to humans and the environment. There is not an industry set up to properly dispose of these toxic dead ev batteries because of the tremendous toxicity to human health. We are being told lies on climate, lies on electric vehicles, lies on many things because corrupt, greedy persons in postions of public trust are prioritizing profits over human health, and our environment.
