    I'm an absolute fan of Toyota. And I just love the fact that they are the leader of hybrid cars BUT they don't have any Hybrid Sport car, they stick with good recipes like we love. Toyota knows that Hybrids are good, but they don't want this in
    their sport cars because it's killing the passion of a sport car. I just admire this brand

    • @MrBigBoy4Life
      @MrBigBoy4Life 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Umm, I just assumed that the whole idea of driving a hybrid was to be Eco friendly and maximize fuel economy. Just by nature of a car being considered to be a "sports" car normally means its more performance based and just the opposite of what a hybrid was designed to do.

    Toyotas get no respect in car mags and on youtube 'car dudes' channels. Called appliances, dull, boring slow etc. #1 selling crossover is all Toyota cares about👍 Only CVT I'd trust other than Honda if someone put a gun to my head and forced me to get a CVT ride.

    I really want to trade in my Camry for a RAV4 XLE premium but I came across a Honda Passport the other day and I love the way it looks; boxy and short and the graphics are much brighter and better looking than Toyota. The only thing stopping me is the mpg. My Camry (not hybrid) gets about 26 mpg and the Passport says it’s 20 city and 25 hwy. Ouch. I guess the RAV is runner up because mileage is great but there’s none in my city! I wonder how long this shortage is going to last. Great review, btw!

    Great in depth review. Interesting that different regions seem to get different features for same spec model. Surely it would be more cost effective for Toyota to build same features in each spec and only change Left hand and right hand drive?
    In Australia, we have the “Cruiser” Hybrid model which seems to be the equivalent of the Limited spec in the US but theres only a moonroof and not panoramic and no option to put panoramic. Theres no heated or adjustable rear seats and all are USB A and not the C type and 9 speaker JBL. It feels like in Australia, we get far more aged features than US equivalent but then again I’m not sure if the demo I test drove was a MY21 or MY22 model so maybe it was MY21 build and I didn’t see some of the updates to MY22. Moon roof is only option whether its 21 or 22 build.
    I have just put deposit on Cruiser Hybrid 2WD and with a 12 month wait, more than likely I will get a MY23 spec if Toyota decides to give the RAV4 some minor updates later in the year which some people have alluded to( hopefully centre infotainment console gets a refresh). I’ m in no hurry for it so I guess it will be a surprise as to what features it comes with that didn’t know about once I take ownership next year.

      I'm picking up my 2022 model Hybrid Cruiser in about 15 minutes. Originally ordered the 2021 model 10 months ago (when the wait was supposedly about six months!). The face-lift changes for the 2022 model were an additional $1,664 but Toyota did throw in 12 months comprehensive insurance to partially offset these costs. I was also keen to get the 2022 face-lift features, in particular the three stage heated an VENTED front seats, electric passenger seat and updated internal and external lighting (as well as some other things). Would have preferred the 2021 black wheels though, but nothing to die on a stick about.

    So it turns out that the cable running to the motor that powers rear axle is corroding and needs replacing, it's a roughly $3,000 repair.

      "The APA has received a number of troubling complaints on 2019-2020 RAV4 Hybrid SUVs. Owners of these relatively new vehicles have reported hefty repair bills in the range of $4,200-$6,500 to replace the cable that sends the power to the electrically-driven rear wheels."
      So I wouldn't be concerned about where your vehicle was build as much as what year it is. 2019 & 2020 is a reason for concern regardless of where it was build. If you install defective part in Japan, it is still a defective part.

      To each his/her own, I like the rugged 4runner look of Rav4(more space + inch taller ground clearance for light off-road, which I enjoy) over smooth & curvy look of Mazda CX-5. Not many consider the Mazda CX-5 as luxurious. And for the interior, both are dated and sucks, a major reason why I don't own a Rav4 hybrid yet. Not gonna look at that hideous infotainment screen almost everyday for years. Was waiting for CX-50 hybrid but big disappointment after seeing the review videos, it's just a short and fat version of CX-5 with bigger head. Patiently waiting for a Rav4 hybrid with a new infotainment system like in the NX350h.

    Wait till the redesigned CRV comes out. If Honda makes the necessary improvements, there won't be any stopping it. The current generation CRV is already more spacious than the Rav4, has real leather, a peppier engine and a more premium interior. Honda just needs to update the CRV's infotainment system and hopefully add ventilated seats, and maybe heated rear seats and then it'll be #1.

    Buying a 22 RAV4 SE is one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
    Of course, it is a fake Toyota built in Kentucky, so it is awful. 33 MPG is really good mileage for this POS. Eco mode gives worse gas mileage than normal and sport mode does nothing. The paint job sucks. The engine starting up causes the entire car to shake.
    It is underfeatured, no garage door opener on the mirror and no fog lights. No upgraded audio possibilities and the standard audio is abysmal.
    It is pure trash.
