WOW!!!!! John Howard made everything right with my missing package that I was so irritated about yesterday! I am very happy with the customer service I received today!!!!! Missouri Star Quilt Company stands by their promise! Way to go! And thank you!
Every time I watch a video you guys make I find I want to buy a new tool, more fabric and make another quilt... I’m not going to live long enough to get all this done LOL 🥰
Love the way You took the classic Dresden, made it scrappy, but kept it super simple by using strips! This is one of those marvelous patterns that make people think You worked super hard to put all those pieces together but wink, wink, we know it wasn't hard at all! Thank You Missouri Star :)
Jennie, this block took my breath away! How beautiful the checkers look and you made it go together so easy! Thank you so very much for this wonderful block, you can be sure I am going to put this one together!!! So very excited to see you at the Trunk Show in Lehi, Utah on May 5th!!!
I had seen a Dresden like this before and loved it. However, I never made one thinking it would be so difficult to make. THANK YOU for showing us how easy it is. I can't wait to make some now. Jenny, thank you for making these techniques so easy to follow!
I'm 17 and make a new quilt every month!! I've never gotten into complicated patterns until subscribing to your channel! 😊 thank you so much, love your videos
Wow, is this a clever way to get a complex quilt with easy steps! What I liked even better is two of the tips included in the video. First, getting a good point after stitching the top of the blade-Jenny’s hint of folding the seam allowance over as she turns it right side out to get a good point. I’ve made hundreds of these blades and getting a good point has been a challenge every time! Second, her tip that in stitching the blades together, if they don’t match exactly at the top (outside of the circle), just roll the the higher side down until they do match. So simple! Thanks Jenny. Would love to make this quilt. Putting on the list!
Being homebound, while recuperating from extensive abdominal surgery, your videos have been really helping me through it.......instead of just laying on the couch. I have been "gathering" supplies and fabrics, so that I can resume teaching myself to quilt properly. I've attempted it at 3 different times......but was never confident enough. I feel ready and confident now......thanks to your videos. Have been ordering through your company, and I must say, I'm impressed at how quick the supplies are shipped, and received. Thank you for helping me through this!!! Greetings from the Berkshires in Massachusetts!! XO
I love the Dresdens! I made the starburst a year ago, then last week I took off one edge and made it bigger, now king size! Loved every minute of the re-make!! Oh my...now this new patchwork...I can hardly wait for morning so I can get started! Thanks for all you do to share your skills with us all.
You are the best! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to watch your videos and learn such neat tricks. The only thing better was meeting you at Quilt Con! Forever your fan xxxxooo
What a wonderful treat this very early morning. I couldn’t sleep, so I got up and watched this video. Love it! Can wait to make mine. I am almost finished with my Mystery half square triangle quilt from your class at Road to California. First time I took a class an finished the quilt. Thank you for your amazing tutorials! Hugs from California👍🏻
Got my template and couldn't wait to start cutting. I am making for myself . . . I thought. I think it will go to my son. Already had the jelly roll. So much repetition, I can do while watching TV. Thank you for this amazing pattern/class!!
Jenny, I really do like the quick but beautiful quilts you make and love the simple instructions! I have learned so much from you. I am sure that my future quilts will be so much more interesting because of you. Thank you so much.
You have made this an easy block to make! It's amazing what you do. I can't wait to make this!! Thank You so much for all you teach us. Your whole team is such a blessing!
Great question Judie! This beautiful fabric is called Oak Haven, by Kansas troubles. You can view it by clicking on this link below. Happy Quilting! :) www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/62898/moda-fabrics/kansas-troubles/oak-haven-leaves-blooms-navy-yardage
Jenny that is such a beautiful quilt! When I get done with my Christmas projects I will have to make one of these. Thank you so much for every thing you teach. I have learned so much from you, your explanation on how to do thing is so easy to fallow. I wish I had you as a teacher in school. Your a good teacher and you making sewing fun. God bless you! Love Cindy
Jenny I get so much inspiration from watching your videos. I have already made a couple of the quilts and several table runners you did for family. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us.
Double your pleasure, double your fun! Make mine a Double Dresden!! Instead of stopping at the outside point of the blade, also make a point on the inside point of the blade. No need for a circle in the center! Just a fun suggested adaptation for this excellent tutorial, Jenny! My jelly roll order has been shipped from MSQC (thanks for the fun email confirming shipping) and I can't wait to try this Checkered Dresden (Doubled!) when my order arrives! 😘
Normally not a dresden lover but I sure like the look of this one! Love the appliqué & blanket stitch... You may make me a dresden lover yet!! Way to go Jenny!! ;)
Love love this one Jenny!! You are such a great teacher, I have been watching a lot of your video and buying your fabric now I'm going to try this one. My granddaughter just loves blue so, I'm giving it a try. Can't wait to visit you in your shops some time. Thank you for all of your help. Bless you and all your family.
Jenny, I've made your Checkered Dresden Quilt in pink and lavender. This quilt is beautiful. I'm entering it in a quilt show here in my town. It really is fabulous. Thanks for the idea and the pattern.
Thank you, Jenny! You are such a wonderful teacher! I really enjoy all your tutorials. You make everything look so easy and you have such a lovely, positive personality!
I've wanted to do this one for a long time. I'm going to choose a jelly roll and get started on it this week. Thanks for the "easy" way to do things. Love you videos and your family
OMG!!! Thank you SOOOOOOO much. I looked at a quilt someone completed and thought to myself when would I be at that level. Not saying I am but you made it look so easy. Thank you again. I love this pattern.
Beautiful quilt! You are a wonderful teacher. I've never made a Dresden nor did I want to until this one. Love it and I have the perfect fabric precut bundle to use, and it came from your store. Thank you ❤️
This quilt is beautiful!! It called out to me immediately so I started making as soon as the video was finished last fall. I have many pictures of the stages and it's been wonderful fun. Then . . . I had to stop suddenly. . . Sadly, this is my UFO of most pain and quilt. I have completed half of the plates and plan to start it again this fall. I plan to FINISH it this fall. It is the quilt I selfishly claim as my own (although I love my friends so much that I keep thinking I should gift to one of them . . Maybe my son's neurosurgeon?) I LOVE bragging that I am working on a quilt that has more than 80 pieces in each block! I tried to look exhausted when I said this but it is so much fun and fulfilling that I can't muster up the pity look. Lol. Thank you, Jenny for such fun and inspiration.
Have started this in blues and I greens. I watch your videos while my hubby watches football. I showed my daughter this and she said, "I could do that."
having watched this a few times. I have just made my first Dresden circle. Just need to decide what to sew it on to. Your videos are so clear even a beginner like myself can follow them. Also got a half hexigon christmas tree on my list.
You make everything simple and easy to make that I've never doubted I couldn't make one as well! You are a fantastic tutor! Thanks for all the enlightenment ☺
Enjoyed this lesson, the Dresden has always been scary to me. One of these days I'm going to make one - this one is easy but lots and lots of sewing. Thank you for these free lessons.
This quilt is just perfect for autumn............. are thinking of making one in chrismassy fabric, with i.e green sashing and border. love these tutorials Jenny.
Just love it. I am going to make this, but must get the correct templates. Love the colourings as well, so does my husband, he would like a king size in the same colourings.
Love the quilt and Jenny you make it look so easy. When I don't have interfacing I use a used dryer sheet, it works great after pressing and maybe a little starch
I made one Dresden yesterday. It went so easy :) Made it out of a Christmas jelly roll.. so pretty for my son's girlfriends Mother as a table topper. May make a few more for around the house.
Thank you for this tutorial x I have always wanted to do the dresdon however always thought it was out my league x I have done it and so pleased with it x
Got my template in the mail today! I can't wait to get started! I have 6 customer quilts right now that need to be quilted but I'm thinking that I am going to have to sneak in some piecing time for myself. :) Blessings... Kristie
I'm looking at the Dresdens themselves and I see Thanksgiving placemats. I could make Christmas ones as well! That quilt, btw, is gorgeous with the blue and oranges and golds and that backing fabric is so pretty! I may have to place an order soon.

Another great quilt design Jenny. This would also be great using different width size strips and the number of strips. Imagine a really big Dresden plate as the center of a quilt top as you do for star or mariner quilts.

Just means you have to live longer, Cathi! :D
Just when I think she can't be any more clever, she is!! Can't wait to give this pattern a try!
Love the way You took the classic Dresden, made it scrappy, but kept it super simple by using strips! This is one of those marvelous patterns that make people think You worked super hard to put all those pieces together but wink, wink, we know it wasn't hard at all! Thank You Missouri Star :)
Very beautifully well done ❤

This is my all time favorite Dresden! Beautiful.
Beautiful! Looking forward to make one! Thank you, Jenny!!
I think this is a lovely dresden pattern thanks
If I added another two or four strips, this could easily be a tree skirt or table topper. I'm hooked!
Hi Debbie, How many strips would I need to get a topper of a 30 inch diameter. I’m tearing my hair out trying to calculate this’d!
Beautiful quilt! Dresden is a favourite of mine to, and I love this one, and the colours are gorgeous. Thankyou all.

Happy quilting The Layne Homestead, The Quilted Mule!
What size template for this?
I'm looking at the Dresdens themselves and I see Thanksgiving placemats. I could make Christmas ones as well! That quilt, btw, is gorgeous with the blue and oranges and golds and that backing fabric is so pretty! I may have to place an order soon.
What a lovely idea, thanks.
That's a great idea! Those will be stunning!
I just came back from the MSQC site and found the backing you used is currently unavailable. Soooo, I came up with the idea of making the Dresden placemats reversible: one side Thanksgiving and the other side in a Christmas theme! That would work, right?
Be careful how you have it quilted though... depending on the stitching design used, you have to make sure the dresden plates on the front and back line up exactly! Good Luck!
That's a wonderful idea Joyce! It should work just fine! We'd love to see a picture of the finished placemats sometime!
Another great quilt design Jenny. This would also be great using different width size strips and the number of strips. Imagine a really big Dresden plate as the center of a quilt top as you do for star or mariner quilts.
That would be really fun!
Love the quilt! Would also make a great size for couch pillows:)
So many possibilities! That would be cute!
love this, I'm new to quilting I guess you could call me a late starter. I will be 66 in may. I have watched so many tutorials my head is spinning. but I definitely want to try this. thank you so much for your videos.
I’m making it today, Jenny! Thank you!
I love this. It's also a good way to use up leftover strips or scraps
