    Hey all, just to clarify for this video, the term Overrated can create a lot of toxicity, so I'm being very upfront when I say I LIKE ALL OF THE BOSSES IN TODAY'S VIDEO! Some of them are in My Top 5 of their respective games - Instead, the way I approached this topic was "Does it feel like the rest of the world likes this boss way more than I do?" It's less "Oh, this boss is overrated, it sucks", and more "Oh, this boss gets love I don't fully comprehend, but I'm willing to learn."

    For me, in Dark Souls 3 I think that The Nameless King is overrated to a certain extent - and that purely comes down to the first phase. The second phase is brilliant, intense and really fun to learn. The first phase, in my experience at least, is just a battle with the camera most of the time and really brings down the enjoyment of the fight.

    • @BillySYT
      @BillySYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Totally fair - I'd say I overrate the first phase of Nameless to an extent myself, as someone who knows how it works, attack timings, camera movements, etc. But the 2nd phase is just so good.

    • @chriscastaway
      @chriscastaway 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd honestly say Phase 1 Nameless King is underrated, because I hear literally everyone criticize the whole fight for the camera alone. Personally, I never thought it was that much of an issue and I think people overreact about how bad the camera is because it didn't feel that different to me as it did against Midir

    Damn I’d consider Lady Maria to be way more overrated than Ludwig imo. I don’t hate her fight (I love it, in fact), but I think it gets way more praise than it deserves when you can parry her ass to high Heaven and make it one of the easiest fights in the game, while not parrying makes the third phase feel like absolute bullshit since you often take a lot of damage you have no control over due to the wonky hit boxes of the fire. Love her lore though, and her music is incredible, but she’s far from the best boss in Bloodborne (Orphan and Gehrman for life, bitcheeesssss).

    • @Woedenaz
      @Woedenaz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Lady Maria's boss fight is carried *hard* by the VIBES. The build-up. The way she moves. Her confidence. The goddamn MUSIC.
      I will fully admit that her boss battle isn't the most incredible thing FromSoft has ever created but the vibes of that battle are off the goddamn chart. I adore her battle and always look forward to it on every replay.

    • @bigsmall2842
      @bigsmall2842 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mechanically, lady Maria is easily the weakest in the bloodborne big trio. Phases 1 and 2 are a complete joke, and then phase 3 comes around and every attack that you seemingly dodge hits you. The lore, arena, design, music is phenomenal. But as a fight it falls way flat compared to orphan and Ludwig imo.

Not the best boss fight in the game (especially first part can be annoying depending on build) but damn if his presentation and build up isnt some of the best in the series. Finally somebody who understands my frustration with Hoarah Loux. Having a moveset that is 75% one-shot grabs and 25% delayed attacks that are just meant to catch you rolling on mistimed inputs is very annoying. Feel like they could’ve really really polished up the 2nd phase better.

    • @jdrok5026
      @jdrok5026 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 2nd phase is better than the 1st phase it's all just in the positioning of the boss which takes a bit but the second phase while harder is actually the better phase of the fight. It comes down to the fact that he is designed to punish all bosses are that's kinda the point. Godfrey radahn morgott are all fucking amazing fights they all have plenty of 1 hit kills delays and morgot is literally roll catch the boss.

  • @linkex2
    @linkex2 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    My personal reason for liking Hoarah Loux is in fact how insane his moveset is, it's a constant back and forth between you and him, his delayed moveset encourages you to sneak a hit or two before dodging and maintain agression, as well as giving you an opening to regenerate stamina. also, getting suplexed by this seemingly noble and rightous guy was absolutely hillarious when I first played this game.
    And I have to also dissagree with Owl (Father), It's hard to describe, but the Father version honestly feels sneakier than Great Shinobi, as well as much more intense. The teleporting, the switch up on his sword slam attack, the teleporting of the Inner version, and I love that his pet owl flies over the camera on Phase 2. It's almost like a song and dance between two powerful warriors, who are now on equal footing.

  • @SekhmetMorgan

    Lady Maria is surely more overrated than Ludwig! Her soundtrack is great but defo weaker and less memorable than Ludwig's or Laurence's, and she's just another hunter, when you've been fighting those all over the place and by the DLC you're prepared. And I've never met anyone who had any trouble with her and didn't kill her in two or three tries max. Over too soon to be as memorable as everyone makes her. Plus during the game you barely hear of her so when the DLC pops in you hear about her only in the lab right before her boss fight, whereas Ludwig is a name you hear about during the entire original game (Gehrman mentions him in his sleep, a sword is named after him with lore given in the description, etc.) So finally seeing him is peak lore moment.

    I think the main reason Godfrey is hyped is specifically because of the transition scene. But for me it's because of the way I fought him.
    I went from using my sword in phase one to using the caestus in phase 2. Felt pretty awesome doing the 2nd phase as a slug fest. But that is my personal reason for loving it. I have a similar reason for why I love slave knight gael. How my victory over him played out. It leaves an impact.

    Rhadan. The buildup and anticipation are spectacular. And his visual design is sooooo cool. But I dont think his fight is that fun.
    The run-up is tedious. You have to get off your horse to dodge the purple arrows. You sometimes cant outpace the trailing arrows if you dont start running soon enough. And you cant outpace them on foot but you also have to get off your horse to dodge the arrow spread he shoots. I just really can believe this is what Fromsoftware intended.
    But worst of all he has the same problem all big bosses have... I cant see what hes doing. His moveset isnt complicated. But have the time ill get hit because his swords are off screen and idk when to dodge.

    Dark Souls II- People say Velstadt is one of the few good bosses in the base game, but his moveset is not at all interesting and neither is his arena. His weapon concept is really cool, but that's about it. Darklurker was a much better fight.
    Bloodborne- Lady Maria. She is just really squishy. I beat her on my 3rd try, compared to Living Failures who I died 20+ times to. And even my younger brother beat her on his first try after suffering against the Living Failures. She is still an S tier fight in my book, but this is a case where overhyping a boss (Maria) and underselling a boss (Failures) really hurt my expectations for these bosses.
    Dark Souls III- So on my first playthrough of DS3, I have been hearing that the final boss of the Ringed City is one of the best bosses in the series, one of the hardest bosses, and the perfect ending to the trilogy.
    And when I finally got to Slave Knight Gael, I liked Sister Friede better. She was harder and more interesting to me, and even Demon Prince and Midir were harder, whereas I beat Gael on my 8th try. I even liked Soul of Cinder as an ending better since, by huge coincidence, his pyromancy curved sword build was like my build with Quelaag's curved sword in DS and his mage build was like my mage + greatsword build in DS2. I think if I heard nothing of Gael, I'd like him more, but on my first playthrough I just felt blue balled by the fandom. Still solid, S tier, but my god is he overhyped.
    Elden Ring- Radahn. I never played him pre-nerf, but he couldn't have been THAT different. His gimmick is cool, but it also causes his health to melt so I don't do it. His attacks whiff me a LOT, and riding torrent makes the fight more fun for me anyways.

Sister Friede is way harder, especially solo. But with Lady Maria, she is truly the archetype of Friede and Malenia. I think a lot of the choices have to do with time and place and who you played first. Maria is definitely not difficult, even without parries but her lore, movements, the progression of the fight, and her OST are just incredible.

    I've never played Demon's Souls, nor have I come close to finishing Sekiro, so I can't really say much on those games. But for the others:
    Dark Souls: Uhhhhhh, Manus I guess? I think instakill attacks take away from a fight, and Manus spams all his magic attacks at once, making dodging a massive pain.
    Dark Souls 2: Velstadt. Not a bad fight by any means, but as you said about The Lost Sinner, nothing really makes him stand out from the other knight bosses, and he felt too easy for when you face him in the game.
    Bloodborne: I genuinely don't know. I'd say the Cleric Beast isn't the awesome 1st boss people make him out to be, and the bridge can feel too narrow for a boss that big, but he's still really good. Lady Maria is another one, but that's just due to the fact that she was always less than 10% hp away from death before she inevitably killed me every attempt.
    Dark Souls 3: Dancer. That Phase 1 grab is THE most annoying attack in the game. If you're not embered, it instakills you, and it has a hitbox that makes DS2's blush at how janky it is. Funny story, I was talking to a friend about this while they were fighting Dancer, and they replied "just dodge" before immediately falling victim to the same attack the same way.
    Elden Ring: Malenia. It's just the fact that they gave her 3 mechanics to add artifical difficulty (waterfowl, lifesteal and the scarlet rot explosion). Even then, I think the difficulty of this fight is overhyped, I had more trouble against Orphan than Malenia. I hear a lot of people say she's their favourite fight, and I just don't get it. That being said, I do still really like the fight.

    I'm not sure who I would pick for DES or DS2, but I agree with O&S being the most overrated for DS1.
    Bloodborne is hard to say, but I'll give it to Ludwig (even though he's my second favourite boss, lmao). I like Maria better, as she's geniunely way more enjoyable and also Ludwig traumatized me severely on my first playthrough by throughly pounding my ass for god knows how many times when I was underleveled for him. I'll take the 7ft tall vampire goth mommy over that any day of the week.
    DS3, it has to be Aldrich. Not because he's good, far from it. I just don't think his arrow spam is *that* bad and obnoxious to deal with unless you have an extremely low damage output- you can even punish it in the first phase.
    Sekiro, I'd say it's probably Divine Dragon. The first phase didn't need to exist, and the second is extremely cinematic...but other than that, it has nothing. Rykard (actually, almost every Elden Ring boss) has that in spades, *and* an interesting moveset to deal with, so I just don't understand how this is some people's favourite gimmick boss.
    Elden Ring, it is 100% Placidousax, and I could write a short story on why, but I've already done it twice so I won't bother.

A lot of things like the hyper armour and that combo she has with two variations and no way to tell which is coming are tacked on just for the sake of making the fight annoying. Satisfying to beat without summons but I didn’t find it worth time when I actually did it. I think she is badly designed in some aspects and they just made her hard first and foremost while only focused on everything else as an after thought. Each to their own though

    Godfrey is in my top 5, however he would be in my top 3 if hoarah loux didn't ruin it. I'd say Malenia is the most overrated, if you search 'hardest boss in gaming', you'd see malenia at the top. however, i don't see how that's even possible, given even with summons, Maliketh is way harder. Malenia only took me less than 10 tries, i was expecting more than that.

And not going to lie, I think Radagon is overrated in elden ring, a lot of people like to hype radagon but shit on elden beast but I feel like without elden beast, Radagon would’ve been forgettable because his moveset is rather simplistic, the only thing that would’ve been memorable would be when he parries a spell once in a blue moon. This isn’t really a defence of Elden beast but more stating that it makes Radagon look far better than he would be otherwise.

    I love Yhorm for the fight WITHOUT the Storm Ruler. Yhorm goes from a blink and you'll miss it nothing burger to the single best designed giant boss in any Fromsoft game, including Elden Ring. Yhorm's legs are armored, taking reduced damage and low stagger damage. His left arm has a gauntlet, taking more damage but still not great damage. His right arm and head though, those take excellent damage, AND deal full stagger damage. If you stagger his legs or gauntlet, he kneels for a moment, allowing you to freely attack his unarmored hand. If that unarmored hand or the head is staggered though, he tumbles forward and exposes his head for both counter damage AND a riposte. This fight is one of minmaxing your time close to Yhorm to land hits in the brief windows his weak points are vulnerable, while staying alert to potential follow ups that could punish you for going in too early. My only complaint is that his fire roar doesn't hurt you. The first phase roar I'm fine with, it teaches you the timing, but then the giant ring of fire roar in the second phase also doesn't hurt you, and it feels so weird.
    Fire Giant and the Golems are pathetic in comparison. Fire Giant is just boring, and there is no strategy in smacking his leg. And the Golems are an insult to Yhorm, because they DO have the EXACT. SAME. MECHANICS. Except 99% of them have unarmored legs, and you just stunlock them to death in seconds, or they DO have armored legs and are placed in the worst possible arenas to fight a Golem (Laser Golem).
    Yeah. Yhorm is the best Giant foght From has made.

    I feel like O&S for the time was truly a game changer, over the years the fight hasn’t aged as well…but that’s about every fight in Dark Souls. They really perfected the gank fight and FromSoftware has been chasing that high ever since with no success.

    I think that Ludwig is such a beloved boss for one thing, because even though he is not the boss with the most complex moveset, he represents the design philosophy of From Software and Miyazaki at its peak, how there can be humanity, elegance and honor even in the most horrible and decrepit situations that may exist, and the way the game presents it with its setting, its music, cinematic and its movements is simply sublime, for me Ludwig is an emblem of why these games are so good, when I think of Bloodborne, I almost immediately think of Ludwig, If there is something that cannot be denied, it is that he is iconic.

His black flame attacks are also lame with one being a straight line that’s brain dead to dodge, a swooping flame attack that is also easy to dodge if you see the tell quickly, and his main sweeping flame breath that is insanely fast and feels like you cannot dodge through the fire at all (thankfully it doesn’t one shot you) I went in expecting a pinnacle for dragon fights/dragon difficulty and got a mediocre dragon compared to what we have nowadays that went down in three tries.

      Maliketh is a horrid fight, paced way too fast for Elden Ring's combat. Similar to how the Artorias of the Abyss bosses in DS1 feel like they are paced for DS3. First time round was hell and everytime after has been lions claw on an ultra greatsword.

      Personally I very much enjoyed Maliketh, I like how aggressive he is because it's fits perfectly with my aggressive fighting style, in other words he can go toe-to-toe with me in a way not many other bosses could, and without feeling like bullshit, only thing about his fight that bothered me was the hp reduction, DoT is annoying but given I can dodge a lot of his attacks and I'm such a high level compared to most people it doesn't bother me, and I liked his design and lore. I also enjoyed Artorias in DS1 by far my favorite fight for the same reasons as Maliketh which is why I think I enjoy Maliketh so much he gives me Artorias vibes in a way, if it's too fast for you, that's not my fault, we're different gamers and we're going to have different experiences and you're entitled to your opinion just like I am but I personally think anybody with the right speed can handle bosses like Artorias and Maliketh, especially with the right setup. Also I run Scimitars in both dark souls and Elden Ring, like the weapon in DS1 I ran a +15 Scimitar, in Elden Ring I run dual Wield keen Scimitars +25, in case you're wondering what I use, if I coop Maliketh I usually use 2 daggers I think they were Reduvia and the Serpent one with poison buildup, because they make more usage of my Talismans for consecutive hits.

    I would say:
    DeS - *Storm King.* The gimmick fell very flat for me, I did not enjoy it. A lot of people seem to feel otherwise.
    DS1 - *Gwyn.* He attacks fast enough to be a DS3 boss and never gives you a moment to breathe, in a way that almost feels unfair. No wonder people parry him.
    DS2 - *Burnt Ivory King.* Fanastic presentation, but the fight with the knights is mechanically lame and the boss itself is just OK.
    BB - *Lady Maria.* Quite frankly... I think she is too easy. As with all hunter bosses, she staggers very easily and is super susceptible to parrying. She also doesn't have that much health. You can kind of faceroll your controller and win. She also has absurd tracking on her blood lunge-like move.
    DS3 - *Nameless King.* This one was hard because I think DS3 bosses are all accurately regarded, or often times underappreciated, but if I had to say one was overrated I'd pick Nameless King solely because his first phase is not great. When people talk about Nameless King, they are undoubtedly talking about the second phase... But that's only half (well... maybe 2/3rds) the boss.
    Sekiro - *Corrupted Monk.* This seems to be a boss a lot of people really like, I thought it was _good_ but one of the least memorable from the game. Also not a fan of her illusion attack.
    Elden Ring - *Rykard.* I honestly could put like 5 different bosses here (Malenia is a perfect runner up), ER has a lot that are close to perfection but have a few things that detract from the experience for me. The weapon is fun to use, but the boss has a lot of moves I simply think are annoying af to deal with especially on a blind playthrough.
    So a trend with my list is that *all* of them have great presentation and build-up, but fall flat in gameplay aspects for me. I still like all of them a lot (except Storm King), but maybe not to the same degree as others. I would say Yhorm is overrated like you did if the popular opinion wasn't that he was lame, I thought he was OK.

    DeS - Maiden Astraea. Love the story and atmosphere, too, but it's no more than a solid B for me.
    DS1 - Gwyn and Sif. The former is a mess that is the greatest showcase of the game's heavily unbalanced nature, while the latter's gameplay is just nothing to write home about.
    DS2 - Old Dragonslayer. I really don't understand why so many put it as one of the best in the game.
    BB - Gehrman, but only a little bit. Great fight, but I just find the gameplay doesn't reach the heights many claim it does.
    DS3 - Abyss Watchers, also a little bit. Mostly the presentation. Music and room full of dead watchers is great, but the arena is otherwise unremarkable. Mechanically very fun, but also doesn't reach the heights of the best in the game.
    Sekiro - SS Isshin, but by default. 2nd best in the game, but I find his entrance and reasons for fighting Wolf rather abrupt.
    Elden Ring - None, in all honesty; I'd sooner say at least 50% are underrated. MAYBE Mohg, but that's the biggest "maybe" of my life, as I freaking love the guy; he's just not in my top 3. I've tried so many times to fight him from the front, but the camera just makes it impossible to see anything, so I always resort to going back to his tail, which might be my problem. His moveset is pretty uninteresting in phase 1, just him breathing fire and a couple claw and slam attacks that always seem to miss, and in phase 2, he's just annoying with the constant teleportation and flying away, which just feel like artificial ways of prolonging the fight. He's still the best dragon fight in elden ring, but I have no idea how someone could like him more than Midir.

    I think Billy's feelings while narrating this video showcase the problem with any "most overrated" or "most underrated" boss list in FromSoft games. Yes, it's easy to look at his choices on this list (O & S, Ludwig, Owl Father, Godfrey) and get angry because they are all such fan favorites. For my own part, Ludwig is my all time favorite boss in a video game, Owl Father is my favorite in Sekiro, and Godfrey/Hoarah Loux is my third favorite boss in the Soulsborne series, and I still LOVE O & S all these years later, but that's the thing....the FromSoft community is so huge and so diverse and our opinions are all valid because what should be most important is that we all LOVE these games. So, calling any boss overrated or underrated in these games just feels....off to me. Yes, you can take the pulse of the entire FromSoft community, get a general consensus, then contradict that consensus, but at the end of the day, I feel there will always be a very large and very loyal group of people who disagree with those points. Is there anything wrong with that? No. Discourse and engagement are amazing things. I just never liked the idea of these lists because sometimes people take the choices too personally when the reality is....WE ALL LOVE THESE GAMES AND LOVE THESE BOSSES!!! End rant

    • @BillySYT
      @BillySYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm, I can see your point when it comes to overrated, but I think underrated is a different topic entirely. When you call something overrated, there's this negative stigma that comes with it, which is what causes a lot of toxicity and a lot of fights to break out in the comments (it's why I likely over-emphasized in this video that I'm not coming at this topic from that perspective).
      But Underrated videos are generally just a way to platform bosses that don't get discussed by the majority of players. Sure, you've got people who enjoyed those fights anyway, but there's no downside to calling a boss underrated, as the goal is to get more eyes on the fight, and to give them their flowers.

      @BillySYT That's totally true. There's nothing wrong with giving a boss flowers that you feel not enough people give them. I think my point there is that, surely there are actually a very large number of people in the community who do actually love that boss and do give them flowers, no matter what that boss is. I think about Dragonslayer Armour as my primary example. Every prominent FromSoft content creator I follow loves that boss and puts them on their list of most underrated....which to me means they're probably just...properly rated. Although I think I'm just a DSA hater who finds the boss to be a bit forgettable and maybe that bias is showing :)

    So refreshing to see Owl Father on this list. I always thought that he was overrated, and I get A LOT of hate for that stance hahahaha

    Soldier of Godrick is overrated for me. I just feel like people only like him because of his difficulty. I get that's the Soulsborne community's bread and butter but just because a boss is hard af doesn't make it good.

      The reason everyone loves him is because he's the true git gud experience. After you beat him, you know nothing else stands in your way. I guess you just didn't git good.

    Hot take: Sekiro should not be counted in 'soulsbourne' it's nothing like the souls games.

    6:06 describes exactly how I feel about Lady Maria. A great boss for sure, but quite easy and the whole game prepares you for hunter fights, on top of her just not being as visually striking or as unique as some of the other Old Hunters bosses.

      That's fair - I honestly think if I had to pick one of my Top 3 Bloodborne bosses for this slot instead of Ludwig, Maria would have been my pick. I adore her, she's fabulous, but she's the only boss I feel who could have benefited from a tad more health, so we could see her phases longer.

      I recently played through Bloodborne for the first time in a few years and I was really disappointed by Maria honestly. It was clear within a few moments I could destroy her easily with parries. So I thought, "ok, I wont parry her to make it more interesting." But as I went on I realized how hard she is to react to without it. So many of her moves are just a long, static wind-up then an instant attack. It was clear I'd need to just practice over and over to memorize the timings because even if I could see what move she was going to do, there was basically no cue to follow for the dodge timing. She got me twice in phase 3 with just a few hits to go before I decided that wasn't fun and just parried her. Fight was over easily on the third attempt. It made me really reevaluate the image I had of her. Both too easy and frustratingly hard (rather than enjoyably hard) at the same time depending on how you choose to fight. To me that just feels... bad.

    This is a wicked tough topic. I admire your gumption in taking it on. Yhorm is a favorite for me just because of Onion Bro. But I really like most of these bosses.

    Most of the praise for Lost sinner probably comes more from its a boss with a gimmick you can influence from ouside the stage witch was unique and rare even in ds2 itself than the fight itself.
    Its a shame its so underused in the series with only Dragon Rider, Lost Sinner, Mytha and Fume knight ever havin some sort of such gimmick and well its probably Lost sinner then that does the gimmick the best.
    Dukes Dear Freja can also get a honorable mention for showing up early in ng+ and actually retains dmg done.

    for sekiro, my overrated boss is great shinobi owl. its the only boss that other people like but i despise. on a first playthrough he's fun, but on ng+ he's just a nuisance. i missed owl (father) on my first playthrough so i hadn't fought him until ng+, yet still took more tries on great shinobi than on father. i believe the only reason for this is the anti-healing bomb that he throws during the fight and disables your healing.

    DeS- I’d say false king is the most overrated because he’s the one that gets held up the most while still being a rather simplistic fight. His visual design is great but his move set is limited and the AI is pretty dumb.
    DS1- This is a hard one because, in general, the boss fights are typically overrated. O&S is a solid choice just because of the sheer amount of praise the fight gets while being out classed by many bosses later on but I’d say Sif and even Kalameet. Sif’s move set is very simple and is more about the lore than the fight at this point and Kalameet, while still quite good, is just not as good as many of the dragon fights in the later games and can be quite clunky.
    DS2- I’d say Velstadt or Mirror Knight. They’re both good bosses but only stand out so much because they’re in DS2. Very simple move sets and are just not as fun imo than later bosses, even later DS2 bosses like Fume Knight and Sir Alonne are much better.
    Bloodborne- I can definitely say it’s not Ludwig, who is a fantastic boss, aesthetically, lore wise, and most importantly, the fight is just amazing. I’ve played the game well over a dozen times and just don’t see there being a problem with the camera here. As for overrated, it’s hard because I think most bosses are at least near properly rated, bad ones are considered underwhelming and good ones are beloved with some variance so I don’t have an answer really.
    DS3- easiest answer of my life, Abyss Watchers. This is one of the few times I simply can’t understand the praise levied on a boss. The OST is great and they look cool, but the fight isn’t that good. The first phase is a complete mess and often defaults to them dog piling each other while you wait for something to die and then having a boring gank. The second phase is just discount Lady Maria. The arena isn’t as cool, the OST isn’t even as good, the aesthetics are lamer, and above all, the boss fight itself is simpler and less complex. Overall, it’s a fine fight but the overwhelming praise is lost on me.
    Sekiro- Another game where a lot of the general opinions I think are quite accurate. However, maybe the first Owl fight just because the arena is ass. Way too small for all of the area denial abilities but is still a good fight. Owl father is an amazing fight and easily top 2 in the game. Maybe Divine Dragon is a bit overrated because while it’s a solid gimmick fight with great visuals, the first phase is a slog and the second phase is painfully easy. Based on my experience, people seem to let the spectacle skew their opinion on an otherwise just pretty good fight. But perhaps all of these line up with the general opinion.
    Elden Ring- I believe the remembrance bosses are pretty amazing and, along with Sekiro, is the only time main game bosses stand firmly with the best of the dlc bosses in their previous games. I’d have to say Placidusax is slightly overrated though. I don’t really see how plenty of people think he’s on par or superior to Midir and again I think the spectacle clouds peoples’ opinions a bit here. He’s a great boss with amazing visuals and some of the most memorable attacks in the game, but is quite easy. This wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t for him just letting you sit by his ass most of the fight, continuously hacking at him until he dies which isn’t as fun or rewarding as Midir. I also find it bizarre at the hate Elden Beast gets while Placidusax is pretty similar in just having the player wait around for a long time to disappear, fly around, and teleport constantly for a brief period of time. He uses his disappear and dive bomb attack A LOT and it does take awhile. I don’t have much of a problem with it honestly, but it does amaze me how hated Elden Beast is even though Placidusax does the same thing for even longer.
