    I knew the tip vinegar tip but forgot ALL ABOUT IT! Didn’t know you could do the baking soda in place of the detergent!Thanks for sharing!:))

    Hello, thank you for your video.
    Will my towels still get fluffy if I don't have a dryer and have to put them on the clothes drying rack? And is fabric softener actually good for anything?

    To prevent detergent from spilling out when you close the tray, here are some tips:
    1. Don't fill it over the "MAX" line
    2. Close the tray slowly
    3. Wash whole tray with warm water to clean the siphon if there is any buildup that makes siphon sense "activation circle"
    (When you close tray fast, that way, you will push water to the back and siphon will pull a little bit of detergent and that will suck all the detergent from the tray)

    Is there any need to add detergent as well? Or you just wash it with vinegar and baking soda, no detergent at all?

    i am confused-- vinegar and baking soda neutralize eachother, correct? is there a benefit to the baking soda? i've seen articles saying not to mix the two when washing clothing/towels

      Your correct Baking soda is actually the one that does the softening, The Vinegar is more of a stripper to release built up detergent and fabric softner.

    Hi I was wondering if you think this would work to “revive” towels lol mine are so matted down and dingy…. I may try this method before buying brand new towel 😊 they feel like sand paper by now! Haha

    Do you put baking soda directly in the machine or the detergent dispenser. Also, how much of each. Thanks for the great tip!

    • @realNikkiMichelle
      @realNikkiMichelle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I put the baking soda directly in the machine and I do about 3/4 a cup for a large load. The vinegar I just kind of eyeball. I usually fill it to the max line on my dispenser

      Try 1/2 cup baking soda to 1 cup white vinegar as a first attempt. These results have worked for me! Let Baking soda soak with clothes on hot wash cycle at least 30 mins, before adding in detergent and then running the wash cycle. Add vinegar at rinse cycle stage to remove any residues and any mildew smells. White towels and white bedsheets come out refreshed and sparkling clean!

    I’ve never used fabric softener and my towels are still stiff after doing this. What am I doing wrong?

    • @realNikkiMichelle
      @realNikkiMichelle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Put distilled vinegar in the fabric softener spot when you wash, they wont smell anything like vinegar when they are done but the vinegar will make them soft

    Do dryer sheets damage the towel fibers as well?

    • @realNikkiMichelle
      @realNikkiMichelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, the coating on dryer sheets melts off and coats the fibers on the towels and flattens the towe fibers and also giving them built up product

    PSA: Vinegar is just diluted acetic acid (around 3.5%) and herbs.
    You can buy 30% acetic acid and dilute it instead. It also doesn't smell like pickled cucumbers.

    Why didn’t u use any soap- only vinegar?

    • @realNikkiMichelle
      @realNikkiMichelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Soap builds up on the towel and mats the fibers over time

    Can I use apple vinegar? We don't have white distilled vinegar in my country, and getting it shipped online would cost 20 times the price of a fabric softener.

    With how many white towels you put in, I get the vibe that you're a hotel maid, or you are a full housewife (supplying you're big family with professional fresh & clean laundry).😊
    I know you said that you're a full working mum(UK pronoun), but you could be working from home
