Trey! We are so glad you are sober, happy and still playing music for us. Thank you for all that you do!
I just got into Phish, went to my first show a couple weeks ago actually. Since that show, I've been slowly gathering the history of the group. Every interview with Trey that I read or watch, i just get this sense that I've somehow known this guy my whole life, that he's some kind of long time friend. Get the same feelings with Jerry interviews, even though he died before I was born. It's a very cool and somewhat perplexing phenomenon that perhaps speaks to the relatability, humility, and honesty of these individuals.
Same man I’m 22 and went to my first phish show ab a year ago. They’re easily the best band I’ve ever seen live.
I am so glad that my favorite band is composed of members as smart, articulate, and compassionate as they are. Long live the Phish!!!
"Keep what's important, and know who's your friend..."
Love Theme…been listening to Memphis ‘99 Theme the last few weeks
Never met you, probably never will. But, I consider Trey to be one of my best friends. I love his music, I love the band, I love this man. God Bless.
You might though! If you get to the show early, they sometimes walk around the parking lot where the vendors are. I saw Mike last year.
Treythoven. One of the best musicians of our time. Thanks, Trey.
Trey’s got an enormous heart, while remaining grounded in logic. I would love to get an opportunity some day to speak with him, although I know it will never happen. I don’t think anger directed towards Trey was fair of the phans. Trey needed help, and it was a life or death decision. He did the best thing he could have in that moment.
I was recently reflecting on 2004. My second Phish festival ever was Coventry, and the end of the weekend felt like the end of my youth in many ways. I think it was really Trey’s desperate attempt to somehow stay alive, even though he went on tour not too long after. I remember sneaking into Palace theater for 70 Volt Parade and getting to talk to him for a little bit. He was a sweetheart to me and my friend but I knew there was a glow missing from him. So grateful they came back, and he isn’t the only one healthier these days, with a different perspective. This MSG run was so incredible and my mind continues to get blown. To think this almost never happened, and there are so many memories still ahead of us, just makes me very emotional and very grateful.
what an amassing guy. the post when he said how he sober was open and great. i got sober twice and it is not easy and probably harder if you are a musician. it is very important for us see the sober musicians whose careers sky rocket after they get sober. thank you.
I have more respect for this man than any other musician.
Trey is an awesome man. I am glad that he took time off to get better and now he is so much better off. Many musicians like Hendrix, Morrison, among others were not able to survive their hardships, but fortunately Trey was able to. That is rare sometimes in the music world.
Man, I am so glad that Trey is an intelligent individual who actually cares about himself and his life. Good to see him still alive and healthy, happy and still playing with Phish. The crimson dago is here to stay!
Here stands a humble man.
You seem like an amazing guy trey. Incredibly humble.
WOW. He's really a solid dude.
Familiarized myself with the music in 2002... Became passionate in 2003... Saw them for the first time in 2004... Then they broke up basically when I started college. Yea... i was a bit disappointed to say the least back then.
I wasn’t mad at Trey. It was this epic letdown though and I never really recovered all the way. I love Phish and Trey and the whole crew and it made me have to redirect as Phish tour was what my whole life was modeled on. I had a family and life went on. Halloween 2016 it finally felt right again ❤️🐠
i love this man so much there's just no words.
We were sad... And we knew, we knew it was the right move, yea we didn't want it to end, but deep down we all could see that the band and Trey were going down a bad path... Thankfully he made it through those dark days and we have the Phish, from Vermont, back in our lives 😊
Honestly the drugs in general around 2003-2004 in the jam band scene was really bad. I used to go to Phish, WSP, SCI, Disco Biscuits back then and the drugs were getting really bad. It was just the way it was in that era . Hard to explain to the younger phans who got into them during 3.0 era how dark and negative the vibe was back then
I love you Trey! I'm so glad Coventry wasn't the end. Thanks Big Red!
It's good he had the wherewithal to close up shop and get healthy (well, I'm sure the arrest didn't hurt either). This is something Jerry was never able to do. The GD machine just had to keep chooglin' to keep all those people secure in their jobs. The deadheads killed Jerry in the end and I'm glad Trey knew enough not to just keep the status quo when that status quo wasn't working.
I agree except please don't include the idiots that deified Jerry in the later years as deadheads. That freaked us old veterans out when the shows got so big. All the kids came for a party. Don't get me wrong,we made that happen but that's not why we were there. If you think the deadheads killed Jerry, your confused
Jerry killed himself with his own drug addiction, no one made him.
Top 10 guitarists of all time- yup, I said it. Dude invented the phrase "Hose!!"
Something I took away from this video is how Trey feels like he let the fans down.
What a great guy to defend the fans and take all responsibility
So glad Troy is healthy and happy again!
Troy Pistachio. Best guitarist ever.
trey is such a class act
The man. ❤️ you
Thank you Trey !
It's easy to love Trey
They broke up a little over a year before i was born. My dad got me into them at such a young age. Ive loved them for so long. If they never got back, I never woulve gotten to see them live 22 times.
Wow - you must be like 17! I'm 18 and have only seen them twice. My dad did the same - I listened to Junta, Billy Breathes, and Round Room a bit when I was young.
Trey became Wilson. Glad he's back and better.
It was no suprise to me when Trey got busted and it all came out that he was an addict. I mean phish is the band that took the deads place the whole scene and music genre is based on the drug culture and it always has been so of course one of them had to be an addict. I am just glad he put the breaks on before he killed himself like Jerry. Now the boys are back and killing it like it was big 1997! I hope he stays sober it has to be hard fronting the biggest jam band on the planet.
We love you trey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dammit this man is amazing

No Phish with out Trey no Trey if he keeps playing with Phish easy math just show up and play at any Trey concert you want to
Did Banana Republic outfit both of these guys?
Quite ironic that you say this, when Trey was on probation he had to stay somewhere that was close to the court. If I’m not mistaken tray had rented an apartment that was above the banana republic store in Saratoga Springs
@@benbruhns192 lol for real?! Crazy
Yea, I had a friend that was in drug court with him. I saw him once in the guitar store, which unfortunately closed due to the owner passing from Covid. My exes father in law was in rehab with him and got to jam with him. I briefly said hi and told him that I am a fan, I did not want to bother him, he seemed really pleasant, definitely looks kind of like a Muppet in person.
Keep Trey Sober
I wouldn’t trust Trey as far as I could throw him - never trust a redhead
troy!!!!!
why pay 40 people to do the work of 5 peeps??
and yes i took it personally. not proud of that but its the truth
Good job recognizing.
hey snl guy you were at the bottom of the list 2013
end or top of the list
his hilarity is unencumbered cucumber
poor sue
Break up lol. If there's enough money to be had, bands will always reunite.
Phish is noise!!
idk man, I know its stupid. but im still kinda pissed off about the whole 04 bullshit. i still havent been inside a show since coventry. but having started in 95 i must say i do like the "new" phish
Have you seen them since you posted this??
I hate when squares interview people like Trey. No talentless hacks.
Who do you want to interview him? Wavy Gravy? You realize this guy is the Phish of journalism, right?
Couldn't disagree more. Mason is a pro.
Mason is perfect for the job and is well respected by the "non-squares".
