Great looking pattern and a great technique. I noticed that the inside cone is angled up from the hook shank. Is this to angle the materials upwards to reduce fouling?
Very nice innovation. I used to make the Popovic version. With very fishable results. Even have an old bottle of Photoflo left. This version however looks fantastic. Very smooth without the wool. What are the heads made of? Are they also silicone?
Hi Robert thanks I still have bobs version in my box and they are very fishy . The heads are made by myself, they are a flexible plastic., and available on my website with the link in the video description.
Could one use UV Flex Resin in place of the silicone which looks like a messy and complicated process? And secondly where are you from, your accent is very similar to South African?
Hey yup I'm a saffa. Silicone is not actually that messy , some guys have used uv and I have tried it. But adds a huge amount of weight. But the main issue is lining up the fibres and shape the head, once it with the light it's set for good no adjusting.
Great fly and explanation of the tying steps. Very interesting to watch. Thanks for your effort in filming and sharing your knowledge!
Awesome tutorial and detailed explanation. Well done. Thank you! 👍
Cheers

From my tiling work, soapy water works as well on the finger.

You can but it's you only get one shot once it's set zero chance of moving the fibres
