    I remember something which happened to me in childhood, I would have been about 3 or 4 years old and myself and some other boys dug a small tunnel into the side of an old embankment near to where I used to live, it was summer time and I remember later that evening as the sun was setting looking into this small dugout and it seemed to go a lot further back into the embankment than had initially been made, there was a red glow at the back, I always thought this may have been a glow cast by the setting Sun and suddenly a face with a mask on looked at me from the back of this tunnel as I remember this, it seemed to 'peep out' from around a corner at the back and I ran off. I remember thinking at the time that it was Spider Man I don't know why though. Afterwards some of the adults collapsed this tunnel telling us that it wasn't safe for children to play in there.

    Really enjoyed the video. This childhood experience evokes the 1973 tale of the Sandown Clown. A supernatural or possibly alien encounter that happened in swampy grounds around the outskirts of Sandown on the Isle of Wight. The transcript and details of what the two children saw and experienced is mind boggling. I find things like this fascinating.

    Very interesting story from such a historical location 🙏
    I've visited Wollaston Hall on many occasions with friends and family over the years, but I never knew of the stories of the gnomes 🤔 a few months ago i meet up with the lovely Kate at a Paranormal convention in Hinckley to listen to her stories which were very fascinating indeed.
    On watching this video I noticed a change with the camera trying to focus in on something around the 21 to 25 minute mark, I've experienced the same on investigations when there is energy pulling & pushing in different directions, plus being a sensitive myself, i felt the pull of energy just by watching this 🤔 I know alot of sceptical folk out there would say what a load of rubbish, but I say it only takes one amazing thing to happen in your lifetime to make you question things more & more.
    I for one will keep searching & meeting up with some awesome people from around the world 🌎 and to share our stories together 🙏 many thanks to everyone involved in making this interesting video.......

    Awesome, really enjoyed that. Glad you found that area. When I was there last year I wasn't sure if I'd found the right area, but there was something about it that I couldn't explain. I consider myself as sensitive as a brick, but even I could feel something in the air there. A vibe that felt a little bit uncomfortable. Like I was being watched closely from the woods. I'm keen to get back there on the next trip over.

    I was only a child in the 1970's in Belgium but I have seen similar things such as a man with long silvery beard surrounded by children. You are right Jo children seem more open to these experiences. Mine continued into adulthood. That wall in the photograph at night reminds me of the old wall outside Forty Hall estate here in Enfield, Hertfordshire. Is the well in Wollaton also called the caves? The Hollywood movie "Dark Night" was also filmed in the caves of Wollaton estate. There was probably something that attracted the location manager to that location. Maybe it was the same entity that followed you Jo. I worked as an Extra in the subsequent "Dark Night Rises" but not at that location. After reading some of your replies here Jo and receiving an automated email today i know you are quite busy at the moment. Just to let you know I have also send you an email today.

    I was born in Wollaton in 1968. When I was a small boy, we moved 'up the road' a few miles to Bilborough. I've always had a strong affinity to Wollaton Park. I played there in the 1970s and early 1980s. I also played in the nearby woods (the no man's land between Wollaton and Bilborough), the old empty canal and the ruins of Wollaton Pit. Most of this is gone now. Raleigh Wood and pond still exist. As does Martin's Pond and the woods that connect both places. Old Coach Road that links Wollaton and Bilborough also still exists.
    I left the Nottingham area some 20 odd years ago. I still, at times, feel the pull of Wollaton Park on my spirit. I sincerely believe that the park and hall have an energy that is quite different from the rest of Nottingham. It literally feels like a portal for energy/entities, both good and evil. It's hard to explain, but if you dig a little deeper into the history and the generational tales passed down through time, you'll see that Wollaton Park and its grand hall could be the centre of some dark forces and nefarious activity. In the video, you discuss the tunnels underneath the hall that run to St. Leonard's Church. What many people don't know is that a main tunnel continues to the site of the now demolished Wollaton Grange in Bilborough. From there, the tunnel continues to Strelley Hall. Some people believe that this is nonsense and just local folklore. However, I find it quite feasible, with Strelley Pit and Wollaton Pit being owed by the Willoughby/Middleton family (plus the pits that stretched out towards Cossall, Babington and Ilkeston), that they would have easily had a personal tunnel built if they had so wished. All these pits were linked underground. They had the wealth, resources and man power to build and engineer anything that they wanted or needed. I hope that time will expose the truth about these tunnels and that one day, they will be found.
    Kind regards, Tony

    Really enjoyed this revisit and everyone’s experiences 😍 Something I noticed and wonder if that’s something any of you have looked into, was the possibility of many portals/ley lines in that swampy area. the way the trees curve and shape around energy ‘portals’ - there seemed a lot of them in that area but could be just the way it was filmed 🤷‍♀️ 🤓

    • @themodernfairysightingspod8421
      @themodernfairysightingspod8421  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks would be good to work out the ley lines. I think Dan Green may have covered this in his essay in the book - The Wollaton Gnomes - A Fairy Mystery. I do know that they dowsed around the park but I think they were at the other end of the park. Also those ‘trees’ are actually rhododendrons which is why they are shaped that way. Not the kids would have referred to them as trees too. They make for interesting shapes!

    Last year I decided to gift local woodland with gemstones and crystals. The area I did this is near to Pleasley Mills, near Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts. The area is rich in history, there are caves, traces of Roman settlement, and reported hauntings.
    I've never seen anything myself but instead, felt something in the energies of the atmosphere there. I'm often drawn to the tree branches. Almost expecting small creatures, beings to be sat observing. I believe that they do and along the ground too. Us humans fascinate them :)
    (There is a quarry there too that I've always felt disturbed the fairy/nature spirit realms )

    Back in the early 90s I was friends with a young woman who told me that some years earlier while a passenger in her mother's car she saw a classic gnome figure walking by the side of the road. She told her mother, who was driving, what she'd seen and wanted her mother to turn and go back to get another look. Her mother told her she could not have seen such a thing and refused. Some years later her mother admitted she too had actually seen the gnome, which of course annoyed the daughter. One of the things about the Wallaton case is if children were making it up they'd make up something more plausible, for example cars have steering wheel but the children's description said the "bubble cars" didn't have them. One criticism is that there were discrepancies in descriptions among the children's statements, however this would be expected among different eye witnesses, indeed too close correlations in separate statements raised suspicions of prior collusion, so discrepancies would be expected from actual observations.

    I wonder if gifting in these areas could yield a good result. When you think as humans we only interact with a fraction of the true reality out there, and we now know matter as we perceive it with our senses isn't what you think it is. The only thing in existence is fields of energies which collapse down as a wave function upon observation. The world is by far too chaotic and complex for us to safely navigate through which is why our brain has evolved just enough so we can survive.
    I wonder what could we 'gift' these beings to show we want an interaction so we can learn from them and communicate through love and friendships. I imagine they must be curious about us and I once read a story about a Fairy falling in love with a man. Do these encounters tend to be male more than females? Most of the accounts I have read and listened to tend to be male so does anyone know this to be true?

    • @themodernfairysightingspod8421
      @themodernfairysightingspod8421  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're right the encounters do often involve male looking beings. There are often white ladies and other forms of The Lady at sacred sites too. They enjoy offerings of home baked goods, especially cake! And they love dairy products like cream, butter and milk. They seem to take the etheric essence of the act of offering and of course then the wildlife come along and enjoy the material remains of that. This is my understanding. Go with your instinct and give from the heart. It does not have to be material. You could write a poem or sing a song or leave some kind of natural art like an arrangement of leaves for eg. Just ensure it is organic and will not harm the environment. These offerings are both welcome and powerful in resuming a healthy relationship with our natural environment.
