This was a great explanation! Were you able to keep the stock ecu and just use n52 injectors? I have a 528e and not sure if I can turbo it without changing the an "i" head. Thx for the video!
yep stock dme and m52 green top injectors. Another person asked me about this kit on a eta car and I dont believe it would perform well. If you watch part 2 of this video i mention that it doesnt really build boost til 3500 rpms so theres just not enough revs with an eta.
I came across your video, you done an amazing job bro. I have a 1900 325 i and that what I’m planning to do. You got all Part’s list in your description ? What turbo kit you got ? Thanks man
Hello there. What kind of changes did you make inside the engine for the turbo process, did you change the top cylinder head's valves? Are your pistons tuned to the turbo? Or does it have a standard piston? and you bought the ignition system from its own coil and where did you supply the electricity to the coil? Could you help
The internals of the engine and head were all stock and held up great. ignition system is stock too, i just relocated the coil but used the same wiring from factory to power it. I essentially bolted on this turbo kit to a stock M20 with the exception of the few small mods mentioned in the video.
so, ik this is an older video but i happen to have gotten the same ebay turbo kit and i wanted to see if anyone could answer any of these, I have a 325es and it doesnt have the is oil cooler stock, can i tap into the oem 325is oil cooler for the turbi oil feed? Also the ebay turbo has a internal wastegate, how does he run 12lbs they say its limited to 8? thanks to anyone who reads this
thats the problem with a lot of things. people never actually try anything, but they have opinions as if they're experts lol. thats why 99% of the time ill try something myself.
I bought an M50 manifold and had it for like 2 years back in the day because i read so many forums talking about how hard it was and vacuum leaks etc. I ended up doing it in 2 hrs with $20 in parts and had no issues out of it lol.

You don't need a chip, you can run the stock ecu with obd1, easy to play with and do manually without tune. Injectors and turbo won't play with the ecu enough to screw it up and it will adapt
stock clutch, yes and i honestly dont know for sure on the size of the turbo. the ebay ad says .63 trim, its pretty big compared to factory turbos in today's cars.

It will bolt onto your car but you need to swap your head to a 325I head from an M20B25 and also swap the DME from the same donor car first so it will rev high enough to spool the turbo. 450+ is a reach without head work, studs, MLS gasket, serious fuel upgrades, and a good tuner/ stand alone.
