You can match with other cables on the PSU but only that is conected to the wall. The power from there is always gonna be the same Power and also first need to go through your PSU.
The not being able to install windows on TNAS part was about installing windows as a virtual machine for remote desktop on other clients, not installing it as the server's primary OS

Hey G, Windows is completely installable using just a keyboard. Use the tab key to cycle forward and shift+tab to cycle backward through controls (buttons and textboxes and stuff). Also, it's possible Windows didn't have the drivers for the onboard LAN chip controlling your ethernet port, which is why the port didn't work at first.

Honestly though you can use the PC wall power cables universally. They do have different fuse ratings in different cables, but its never an issue worst case the fuse burns out. Just realised that In America you dont have fuses in cables. Anyway they can be plugged from monitor to pc, laptop power adapters ect if all use the same power plug standard.
You can use what ever cable you have for the psu they are all compatible the only time it becomes an issue is when you’re using 1000 or more watt power supply that needs a lower gauge wire

fun fact: you can actually make a pretty decent and very affordable $400 gaming pc with a server cpu (xeon e5-2650 v4, xeon e5-2680 v4, 2690v4 blah blah blah) and a rtx 2060 super gpu

I got a thinkserver for free and it has an i3 4170, 24gb ddr3 and integrated graphics, thinking about slapping in an rx 480 in here in the future or something
