I was in the 3rd grade and I was still having so much trouble learning to read. Apparently a bunch of kids we’re having issues as well bc a teacher pulled a group of us aside and started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to us. Everyone of us were enjoying it. We all asked her to read us the 2nd book and she said that if we wanted to know what happened next that we would have to put in the work and learn to read. She reminded us how much she was enjoying the 2nd book and how she really hoped we would read it. I read the 2nd book about a year later. Since then I haven’t been able to stop reading. I’ve probably read thousands of books by now. If it wasn’t for JK Rawlings work, I probably wouldn’t have been reading for enjoyment.
That’s awesome. What a smart lady!! Great teachers like that make all the difference in the world, and clearly you’ve never forgotten her. Very cool 😊
My story is very similar to yours, except it was my mom. And she stopped reading halfway through the book to entice me to read the rest on my own
@@stefrondi1339 I’m glad the teacher read it all the way through 🤣. It would have driven me crazy if she stopped halfway through lol.
@Ricker’s Homestead A Hobby Farm lol, that's exactly why my mom did it :p. I'm extremely lazy but also curious and I loved stories so she knew that would be the right amount of encouragement
similar experience. for me it was the 3rd book that got me into reading. I started the series with the 3rd book because I received it as a birthday gift. it took me awhile to finish the first book but then I got to the scene between Lupin and Sirius at the Shrieking Shack. still my favourite scene. so same as you, still reading for enjoyment because of her books.
I work as a flooring installer and therefore spend a lot of time in other people's homes, where I must say there is a staggering amount of people displaying their fandom with pride... Roughly estimating here, but i'd say at least 3/4 of the homes I go to have something from the wizarding world on their shelves or walls. However, there are always a few who actively boycott the IP and try to shun me when I listen to harry potter audiobooks throughout the day. One woman told me that I should be ashamed for supporting Jk, and for obvious reasons, I couldn't argue with a customer, especially in their own home.. So instead, I politely asked her like I ask all the would-be cancellers, "Do you know why Jk was targeted?" and "Do you know what was said exactly to spark this whole movement?"
Then she, like so many others I have asked, couldn't give me an answer. This I find hilarious, you're willing to hop on a bandwagon and shame a total stranger for his preferences as a fan, and yet you don't even know why you take this stance in the first place? Suffice it to say, I finished laying her carpet with the half-blood prince playing loudly in the background, then she hid as her husband paid me for a job well done.
It is quite true that the activists have lied and exaggerated JK's words to a ridiculous extent, and that many have jumped on that bandwagon without actually reading JK's comments themselves. So, they end up in an echo chamber of lies. It is a lot like Fox "News", only on the far left rather than the far right.
That's amazing😂
I mean you either get the people that can't tell you what she said , or you get people who claim she said something really horrendous, which she never actually said. Its a free society so if you can actually quote something she said and tell me why you hate her for it, then i will still disagree with you but at least respect your point of view and that you have an actual argument. the sheer amount of people out there who have just jumped on the bandwagon and say they hate her and boycott all things HP without being able to explain why when pressed are just the worst.
Just say you hate gay people & agreed with the old bat JK so we don’t have to read this long made up paragraph
@@celticspike2522 she said some ignorant shit. When you don’t have a gay person in your family or circle you tend to say dumb shit because you don’t know anyone that will be affected by the ignorance that is being said. No one has to explain to you why they don’t agree with ignorance. If that’s the heart GOD gave you then fine but I hope you know he loves EVERYONE both you & that old ass bat JK hates. Now go get you some help!
I'm convinced that these "activists" who attack the likes of JK, or people with channels like this one, don't actually care about Harry Potter, JK, or JK's stance. The only thing they care about is capitulance. This was blatantly obvious when Evanna Lynch spoke about the "controversy". Not only did Evanna avoid condemning the trans community for their views, she extended them a great deal of empathy because she can relate to feelings of being born in the wrong body on account of an eating disorder that nearly claimed her life. They still crucified her. Because she didn't advance their agenda 100%, because she didn't put their target in her crosshairs, she became a target. It's ridiculous. I'm glad the older cast members are voicing their support and refusing to be bullied for it.
Yeah the mob is abhorrent, at least have the decency to have a two way dialogue instead of vilifying JK. It's ridiculous how many logical fallacies there are pit there.
I was banned from online spaces just for saying "I like Evanna Lynch." That's how insane these people are. Evanna is so much like her character, and so brave by saying what she said. She wasn't even transphobic. She was far more tame than Rowling was and yet... here come the wolves.
There is no f*ing trans agenda

I got into Harry Potter because of haters. People were saying not to watch Sorcerer's Stone when it first came out, so of course I had to watch it! Then I read it, and I've been hooked ever since.
Bingo.
@@Gigglingsiren lol what JK only started being transphobic atleast publicly recently.
Nobody was saying she was bad when philosophers stone released
@@queenbean7071 The more rigid religious people were saying not to watch it because of witches and things.
@@Gigglingsiren don't they do that with like any modern media lol
The continued hate for Rowling in spite of the sales boosts that they're causing for her products is scientific proof of the Streisand Effect.
Or it's proof that those voicing outrage at Rawling, and who are in fact convinced that men can menstruate snd give birth, are just a tiny minority.
I really wish that people would quit criticizing j.k. Rowling. Either you like the Harry Potter World or you don't. If you don't like the H P world then don't complain! I love H P;❤️. Well said Helena Bonham Carter
Imagine not believing in biological sex. I can identify as a wizard but that doesn’t mean I’m able to use magic
Look sex and gender are different things and they don't have to agree with one another, they can change. Sex is the biological part, gender is the mindset and identity part, which doesn't only apply to humans. We have gramatical gender for words (in certain languages) not gramatical sex, it is your believe they should be the same, but that doesn't mean they have to be. Wizards can choose to live as muggles if they want to right? And while the other way around is not so easy, muggles can still live magical lives. And I am certain they would want to be treated according to the life they chose, even when it comes with disadvantages.
I’ve said this before, whether we like or agree with it or not people will always have the right to their own opinions, beliefs, thoughts etc etc
Remaining in support of this channel and I can’t wait to watch the series
Exactly! Same here!
She has the right to her opinions, as do those who challenge her.
@@joeylafrond2472 Those people think they also have rights to threaten her and her kids, show at her house, stalk her etc. They are entitled (you seem to be part of that crew) so ofc they are the ones deserving of hate they throw at her. She only stated her opinions, they did much worse.
It’s absolutely critical to note how the activist boycott of “Hogwarts: Legacy” not only failed, but explicitly backfired! Between that fact and, on the other hand, the relative failure of the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise after Rowling and Depp were pushed out, we see the lesson that Hollywood has clearly learned from this controversy: that there is no profit to be made in acceding to the whims of cancel culture, but there is plenty to be made in *defying* them outright. Not to be cynical, but that virtually ends the debate right there, as far as the bean counters are concerned.
I always have and will continue to support JK Rowling! I adore her and HarryPotter! I can’t wait to see what she does with the reboot! Thank you JK for all the wonderful HP moments and memories 💜💜
More actors need to step up. She created so many careers just for those same people to turn around and slam her.
I want this do the actors who played the golden trio would be ashamed.

Those "activists" need to fix their own lives instead of trying to sabotage others. Now people are finally learning to stop pandering to them every time they stamp their feet. I hope Jo realises now that most people don't care and are excited to see the new show!
Yeah boycots don't work for either side.
Didn't work against JK, didn't work against Bud Light.
The truth is to the average person culture war issues aren't what make them choose to buy a product or not.
This is coming from someone who doesn't agree with JKs viewse
@@queenbean7071this comment aged beautifully. The beer’s parent company is just fine, but Bud Light?
@randdiamond8090 bud lights sales were expected to recover. Then they threw Dylan Mulvany under the bus and now they don't expect to.
The reason boycotts don't work because its very hard to convince large groups of people to do the same thing because people have so many different principles etc.
It takes serious effort to mess up to the point where both trans people and progressives aswell as republicans and transphobes all want nothing to do with you
@randdiamond8090 though sadly people ignore this and just act like it was all republicans.
For my srgument against I look to all the recent successful films that people tried to cancel over lgbt characters.

I will say this, today is full of a lot of reboots because a lot of companies have run out of ideas but when I heard about this I was actually really excited because I think the format gives us more of the books brought to the screen. I have been saying for years I want a Harry Potter series so that we can get more from the books that they could not fit into the film's. I don't think this is just a cash grab. I think this is really important to her and that is why I support it because I know with her behind it it will be done correctly. I don't see this as a cash grab on remaking something like what Disney has been doing lately. I see this as truly bringing the books to life in a new way. So it's like we have new Harry Potter that we have never seen before even though we already know the story. Seeing it and reading it to me is different
This is definitely a cash grab. If WB wants to continue making Harry Potter content they could do that without rebooting the movies/book series. Why not make spin-off shows like Disney has been doing with Star Wars? I think a story about Voldemort’s origin would be cool since a lot of that was left out of the movies. Reboots can be a good thing if the movie or tv show is improving on something that could have been done better like Percy Jackson for example. The Harry Potter movies were well received by general audiences and Potter fans so what’s the point.
@@Supherodude Every movie made is a catch grab by your description. They aren't made for free. They're made to make money. That's the reason they are made. And if it's popular, that means people want to see it. This looks like it's going to be very popular, so exactly why are you defining this as a cash grab any more than any other film venture?
@@fransmith3255 I understand that every movie is made to make money but that doesn’t mean these major Hollywood studios like WB should not attempt anything new. There are so many stories that could be told within the world of Harry Potter. HBOMax could have done a show about Voldemort, the marauders, the Hogwarts founders, heck I would be down for a show about Harry and Ginny’s kids (retconning The Cursed Child). Instead of making a show about any of those things I just mentioned they decided let’s just do the movies all over again but longer. What WB is doing is lazy and that’s what makes it a cash grab.
@@Supherodude That might not necessarily be because of the studio (not that I'm partial to defending WB - the company is pretty unethically run and behaves disgustingly - they aren't exactly worth defending in many ways). Also the company doing the remake is HBO, not WB. JK Rowling is pretty protective of her work. She doesn't generally allow off-take stories beyond what she herself has created. If she hasn't written it, she generally doesn't allow it. She has allowed this remake, and from her past behaviour, she's probably directing every nuance behind the scenes to protect her work in this, just as she did in the first Harry Potter Series, which isn't a bad thing. It one of the reasons why the Harry Potter Movies were so successful. Movies where directors and writers take ridiculous tangents with the stories they are supposed to be recreating loose a lot of credibility in the public eye, because those departures from the real stories usually detract from the movies, not add to it. My guess is that JK isn't allowing companies to go berserk with her franchise, which is a good thing because they would utterly destroy it, given free licence to play with it.
@@fransmith3255 HBO is owned by WB. Btw I don’t just have an issue with WB. Excessive reboots and remakes is a problem that every major Hollywood studio has like Disney and their live-action remakes. Also if JK Rowling is so protective of her work why did she acknowledge The Cursed Child which is the most universally hated Harry Potter story as canon?
I don't have much interest in the new series, I'm gunna stick with the original, but I'm happy for the people who are excited for it.
Rowling has been handling these ridiculous "activists" quite well and I've enjoyed her sarcasm.
Good on her for not letting these weirdos get under her skin.
Also nice to see some actors/actresses finally standing up to the nonsense, took them long enough, but better late than never.
Great video, Dean, stay awesome! ❤️
Great job. I appreciate the fairness you show to JK
I'm so glad to see Jim Broadbent support JK, He's such a good actor, I've loved him since Only Fools and Horses. Thank god there are some people with sense.
I'm going to give the TV show a chance. I grew up with Harry Potter, and while it may feel strange seeing new ppl playing the roles, I'll at least give it a chance.
I do find it amazing that the ppl who played the evil/bad guys in the movies are the ones coming out against the nonsense.
I’m not an activist, I’m just a trans guy trying to survive. I didn’t buy the game because jk Rowling planned to spend money campaigning to remove the rights of trans people. And I just couldn’t do it, hp played such a massive part in my life growing up. It broke me knowing I couldn’t bring myself to buy the game because child me would have bought it in a heartbeat. I’m not into politics, I just don’t want to l contribute money towards making myself and others like me face more hatred and discrimination, as with such a large creator such as jk her influence will certainly spread. I felt like such a large part of what made me a person was stolen away, the stories that were once my escape became just a constant reminder of the world I’m living in and that people would much prefer if I did not exist.
👍to Helena and Jim for their support.
The whole cancel culture garbage is straight out of 1984.
Is it going to be difficult to bond with new actors playing favourite roles, yeah, I'm certain it will be. As long as they stick to the books and characters however, I am up for the journey.
Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe will one day realise they were wrong.
All I have to say is, I don’t think it’s too soon for a reboot. The first two movies are old enough to buy alcohol if they were people. In the amount of time it took for the original movies to release Spider-Man was rebooted twice. Superman was rebooted twice. If it sells, it sells. And Harry Potter sells, it always has. Always will, baring some new age witch hunts. But I like to believe we’re beyond burning innocent people at the stake. Honestly I want a book accurate Hermione Granger, not some idealized version. Granted the casting directors couldn’t have known she would grow to look the way she does.
I never got into this woke stuff, guess because I'm a year younger than Rowling, and very much an old school feminist. Feminist as far as MY definition goes, and probably Ms. Rowling's, is equality, with pay, work, and under law. I loved the Harry Potter books and films, read them to my kids, and I'm excited about a TV series of HP. I've always thought that the series format would be much better than the films, as you could cover way more ground as far as the books. The films were good, but there was much left out from the books. So I will be waiting to see if we get something good.
PS- I saw Jim Broadbent in a fabulous miniseries called Any Human Heart and I was a fan from then on. The man is a fantastic actor.
I just bought all the books and am flying through them… love the movies and the theory’s- definitely will be watching the new show.. doesn’t make me an evil person 🙃
I've been in support of JKR since the beginning! That won't change. On the contrary! I have even more respect for her than ever before! I'm so happy that people are starting to stand up more and more at these woke, snowflake generation. It is pathetic and sad! Sadly enough, my English isn't that great, there is a whole lot more i would like to say. But anyway, the most important thing is that i'm excited for the new HP series! (And that i will keep going on supporting JKR!) 🧙🏻♂
I could be wrong, but didn’t they say they aren’t using any of the actors from the movies.
Not sure if theyre using a completely new cast, but we do know a coup,e things. Emma Watson will never work with jk again, she’s actually going to protest against it supposedly. She stated that the only way she would ever become involved again would be if JK would have nothing to do with it-not writing, producing, or even advising on the most trivial matters. Daniel Radcliff is afraid of losing his trans fans, so he came out against it too. Rupert Grint would like to do it, but only if both Emma and Daniel came back. THAT ain’t happening, and it’d be pointless having only one of them there, anyway. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) would be game to do it, as would Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), but I don’t think they will, especially if it’s without the big 3.
Good. Those that are angry, whether because they don't want a new series based on the books or because they hate Rowling for having opinions that differ from their own, need to realize two things:
1. She created the Harry Potter universe. It's her IP and therefore hers to do with as she wishes. If you don't like it then just don't watch it and pretend it doesn't exist.
2. J.K. Rowling doesn't hate and/or intend to harm transgender people. She has said so herself multiple times. If you believe otherwise you're part of a essay is essentially a cult that has brainwashed you and taken away your ability to think critically. This is not my opinion, this is fact. The sooner you accept that, the better. If you want to see change in the world, then you need to be able to understand what those who disagree with you actually believe. Seeing them as evil strawmen who to things out of hatred won't get your cause anywhere.
Its about time that we stop allowing these few self important Bullies who think their feelings and opinions are the only ones that matter, continue to attempt to push both individuals and companies around, forcing changes in their own "Mental" image. I applaud those who stand firm to reject these people and their agenda's. It's time we grow a pair.
We really should start abolishing the democratic party. This wasn't even an issue until they pandered to their useless asses during the pandemic
I just want Peeves to be in it this time, animated would be best to the extent that I've contemplated doing it in my spare time, so we'll see how this turns out
Be Luna! When no one seemed to believe Harry that Voldemort had returned, she stuck by him and encouraged him. We know what love is. The deatheaters don't understand love. Just like Dumbledore said, "Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love."
People talk about acceptance and equality for all, except for those who disagree with their politics.
More importantly. These trans fools preach about acceptance when they refuse to accept what's between their legs. They can't demand anything of anyone UNTIL they accept themselves for what they biologically ARE.
Good for her! I love JK and will support her for standing up for women.
I support JK Rowling and her HP Books. Amen.
It’s mostly Emma Watson on her high horse. if she wants no part in the project then off she can go because without HP she would be a nobody. Wouldn’t have the acting career or Prada adverts. If she wants no part in any of the reboot that’s completely fine but she shouldn’t be trying to cancel it and prevent other actors from getting work which could elevate their careers that simply just petty. I used to really like her but the more I think about it I haven’t seen her in a good movie outside of HP being honest.
Video suggestion: Could you go over EVERYTHING she has said regarding the trans subject. I’m curious to know just how bad/not bad it really was. Having a clear picture of the FACTS would probably help people that are on the fence. Be objective about it, the good and the bad
@@neko7606 I think he made his opinion very clear and decided to speak against those extremists.
She's made a few but the one that blew the top of the trans clowns lids was her saying the fact that biological MEN cannot be women. Which is true
I to am interested in what was actually said and how it was said and in what context because I have a feeling that most of this fiasco was blown way out of proportion whether intentionally to move along an agenda or whether some people just may have misinterpreted what was said or most likely a bit of both, but I would actually like to know what was said how it was said in the context then that way I can get a clear understanding of what actually happened but then again it is the Twitter mob we are talking about, and Twitter makes Chernobyl look like a regular garbage bin, so I’m also not surprised
These trans extremists have threatened his children. I can understand why he doesn’t want to touch this.
Honestly I think going with Steven Spielberg’s idea of a animated, or high quality CGI Harry Potter (like video game cut scenes) would be the way to go. That way more people could enjoy the show without comparing which actor is best, because you’d only have the voice.
it works better for character designs and it allows for great casting if you avoid stunt casts
I agree BUT prefer the idea of live action
I am a trans person. I hate J.K Rowling. And what J.K Rowling has said and done is so damaging that I cannot explain the details in a quick comment. I want to make it clear that the people actually attacking Rowling are a very small minority out of the many people who only speak out against her. I believe that influential people should consider how they voice their opinions because they are heard by millions of people. However I also believe that no-one deserves to receive death threats. I have chosen to protest her opinions in a peaceful manor, by not giving Rowling any of my money. I am just trying to live my life in a world where I can be who I am, and the people who put money into organisations focussed on eradicating my kind, I find disgusting. However that is just a thought in my head and shall be carried out in peaceful boycott. That is all
I stand with you. Idk if this channel and Dean have always been so right wing and all for jk, or if it's a recent thing but I am really uncomfortable reading some of these comments. It's truly scary what a bit of misinformation can do to people. Some of them seem to have really warped ideas about transness and what the lgbtq+allies actually want from society and from jk herself.. All we want is equal rights and to let everyone live life without fear of being harassed or killed bcs of our gender or sexuality. We want an apology and for her to listen and understand how she's hurt people. I don't condone sending anyone death threats or anything of that sort. But lgbtq people are angry because this is such a scary topic. Every day people get persecuted for just existing. If it were possible to just have a calm, honest conversation and educate the anti-lgbtq people, maybe we could get a better result out of this..
When people tell me to boycott something, I usually do the opposite and not boycott!
People are too sensitive. JKR was only stating her opinion. Like if u like apple or oranges. If a war was going on, they wouldnr care what rowling would say. Plus Jim is an old fanishoned comedian, where people could take the piss out of each other and have a laugh and not be offended
I originally wasn't interested or willing to watch the new show that will be coming out, but now I feel that I'm going to watch it just to spite those that are being hateful towards JK Rowling.
Let’s do Some maths Twitter + Activists - common senses = Irrelevant
Really happy to see the actors come out in support of her. Especially Helena, she's one of my favourite actors and I loved her performance as Bellatrix. It would have been really disappointing to me if she, in particular, threw JK under the bus. I support JK Rowling 100%. Team sanity all the way 🙏
Being transphobic and giving away a bunch of money to associations who harm trans people = sanity?
Helena, Jim, Ralph, and J.K. are living legends. I'll not deny Daniel, Rupert, and Emma have some talent but HP meaning they peaked as children has to be tough to live with. Since they want to willfully misinterpret Rowling's words so badly, replacing them with promising young actors is the high road. They want to demonize Rowling, well, HP can leave them behind❤

I definitely stand with JK Rowling, she just pointed out a few home truths that the firebrands of the trans community could not take. I am 68 years old and the Harry Potter series was, and still is a high point in my life, because I can rewatch a Harry Potter movie and still find something to marvel about. The same was with the books which I read maybe a quijillion times and still get to enjoy.
My only wish is that they will get going with the new series so I can watch it before I die.

YOU made the connection, I didn't. But on that we agree. Pedophiles often times are trans
Some of them are, some, like Blaire White and Rose of Dawn call out the predatory men in their community, then they get harassed for pointing out the creeps.
"[..] there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right."
Those in support of Rowling have not chosen an easy path, but the right one for themselves - which is voicing how they feel - not what they think what others would appreciate.
Thank you Dean. You make my day with your videos! ❤
It baffles me that we as a human race, the supposedly most intelligent beings on the planet, have arrived to a point where if someone disagree with you, you feel it is your right to send them hate mail, death threats, and start a movement for them to lose their job.
But yet, people feel they deserve kindness and respect, despite their choices. It's very hypocritical. If the human race goes extinct, it will be our own doing.
Regarding the reboot, I personally am excited for it. I don't think it's too soon. They are releasing it over 10 years, which means by the time the final season is released it will be 2035, which is 24 years from when the final movie was released (2011.) Twenty-four years is a long time. I think this timing is fine. :)
You're awesome for keeping us updated my guy. Makes me really happy to hear this!
I'm so glad older cast members are coming out in support of JK Rowling and above all the truth.
Actual trans men and women on TH-cam (no WOKE) are DEFENDING JK Rowling as well.
I'm excited for the new TV show! You're right, this will be a hit if done right ❤
For me I disagree with her on trans folk, trans men ARE men, trans women ARE women. But the part I agree with is that in embracing the trans community, try not to erase the experiences of cis folks either. Both must be heard and neither should be erased. For example, I as a bio female have experienced things that trans women won’t, for example my severe endometriosis and misery associated with it. Don’t erase my story, but she shouldn’t erase theirs either. I disagree overall with her. But I love the series. Also as a black woman , it’s very hard to boycott everything that’s racist caz otherwise you can’t watch anything more or less. I continue to enjoy the series, but I will still disagree with JK.
Good points.
I agree with you, but I also really don’t think anyone is trying to erase cis people’s experience, they’re just trying to have the same space to be heard. Same goes for women being now more able to voice their issues etc…
men with penises are not women, my elderly mother would be horrified to share a changing room with one. Call me a transphobe if you like, I find it horrifying that a a female should be forced to get changed with a biological male.
Sorry to educate you but trans men ARE NOT men and trans women ARE NOT women. That's a fact yall still need to acknowledge. Why tf should we embrace a community that tries to groom children more than anyone else in the lgbtq? Why should we embrace a community that can't even accept what's between their legs? There's a difference between letting live and being forced to accept gender disphoria
Love your videos and can’t wait to talk about the show ❤
Love your content! Keep up the great work
I'm okay with continuing the sequels but...
NO REBOOT!!! I don't want to see Harry Potter be in a tutu and his name be changed to Harriett Potter! I'm sure JK Rowling don't want to see a reboot either. JK better be the director of the new series!
My child is going to born in October, I'll eventually will be watching this show with him or her.
Congratulations!
@@Den.Vos.Reynaerde thanks.
Congratulations 🎉 🪄
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I personally stand with JK Rowlings view on transgendered community. You can change your gender with surgery and if that makes them happy then I say go for it!!
But to say there is no such thing as a gender and there is more then two genders I firmly disagree when science proves that there is in fact 2 genders.
Cancel culture is not the way to go!
I love Harry Potter and the series. I loved the books, the movies, the universe. And I’m not going to stop liking it because of a difference in opinion.
Completely agree with you👍
I agree except for the fact you can't change your gender. You can alter your appearance with makeup and clothing but you can't change your biology no matter how many surgical scars you have
Ok lets st this right, know what you are talking about gender refers to social and cultural differences not any biological stance ok, the word you are looking for is sex, ok, it is on the dictionary, if For you the gender of a person should reflect their sex is fine. But do not use a word in the wrong context, ok, people talk about transgender not transsex for a reason you know. Semantics are important, regardless of your views on the subject.
@@patax144 ok let's get this right. Gender is SYNONYMOUS with sex. Fuck the bullshit you heard last month by trans activists quoting articles written literally last year. Sex IS THE SCIENTIFIC term for Gender. Both ARE biological and both genders/sexes are biologically different from the other. Context and definitions are important regardless on YOUR opinions on the matter. The fact is left orthodoxy is battling to erase that FACT. It's isn't just a trans issue, it's a political one
@@patax144 semantics are important but yours have just been a long word salad, I'm afraid.
That's why I like the movies! Apart from the annoying kids, the adult actors are true legends of the theatre and screen, the likes of whom I absolutely doubts they can find for the TV show.
These legendary actors improved on the original material. Their characters are much more likeable/memorable than in the books. (my op).
Sloghorn is one of my favourites.
To be honest, my reason for watching the series was to see these amazing actors at work.
Come to think of it, my reason for watching The Crown (season 5), was to see Umbridge as Queen Beth II
Been with you this long. Won't give up now. Other channels with other options keep the actual potter fandom community alive!
Based slughorn
I just hope that the series will be better than the movies... It would annoy the activists to no end. I also hope that whoever is going to play the Golden Trio will be just as iconic or better than the old Golden Trio. Maybe that'll give the actors some humility (particularly Watson), and they'll realise that even though we love and appreciate their performances, they're can still be replaced by better actors 😀
I feel it will be better. Despite liking the movies a lot, I know a lot of popular parts of the books were cut so the show could amend that problem
Love your videos and as a young fan of 13, I am so excited there will be a TV series I can actually see come out because I was too young when the movies came out but obviously I watched them but it will just be extra fun seeing all of the hype for it
Agreed!!
I think reporters should stop asking actors from the HP franchise about JK Rowling. Is like they are trying to separate them in a group of "supporters and non supporters". This only brings more unnecessary hate towards them. Because they didn't have anything with what Joan said in those tweets.
I mean. Let's leave that behind and focus on the new series.
I think Jo Rowling is a total hero. A few psychos will not stop this clear-headed and courageous WOMAN and the incredible wonder that is Harry Potter.
I pity them!
20 years is never to soon for a reboot
I love when something is as simple as "are you a good person or not" and people still pick the wrong side. All people are people, everyone is valid. You're wrong if you disagree.
When did she ever say or even imply that trans people are not people?
@@RoaringMind so you know nothing about jk Rowling? That's a self report buddy lmao
@RoaringMind the first thing you learn besides "oh she makes shit up and lies to seem smarter than she is" is "wow she's flamingly bigoted and loves it"
Would you put violent males in women’s prison? They’re just as woman as any transwoman 🎉🎉
We love the works of H.P. Lovecraft despite the fact he was racist. We love Dr. Seuss despite the fact he hated Jewish people. We love Thomis Eddison despite the fact he was one of the biggest frauds in American history. We should learn to separate the art from the artist. Harry Potter is still an amazing franchise. No one can deny its fame. You don't have to like the author, but that doesn't mean we should stop watching these good movies or stop reading these amazing books. Am I telling you what to like or don't like? No. But I am saying we shouldn't judge stories we love because the people who made them weren't great. For instance, I really find The Persistence of Memory painting a unique form of art despite the fact Salvador Dali agreed with the nazis (look it up, it's true). Does that mean I like Dali? Absolutely not. I don't agree with him at all. Honestly if he was still alive I don't know if I'd be able to restrain myself from punching him or not. But still, I have learned to separate J.K. Rowling from Harry Potter and I feel other people should too. Sorry about all that, I just thought it needed to be said.
Honestly people are haters. She literally created the potter verse if she’s says no trans witches who tf is a better person to ask. reality check
Wizardly World is a fantasy. If y'all believe trans is just fantasy to them why can't they be included you know because inclusive matters since it's all love right? But it's not, it's all hate masqueraded by JK "opinion".
So activists are planning a boycott of the TV series. Wonderful! This will insure that many, many more people will watch it.
No reboot
I want a tom riddle movie or the marauders
I noticed something. When they were showing Professor Slughorn Mrs Weasley lookalike was on the left of the screen.
People tell me to stop my Harry Potter Fandom and I just make another wand
I can't wait for the new TV series, mainly as it will be able to be truer to the books than the films were unable to due to time constraints. Like millions of others, I love JKR and all her other work outside of HP x
I love the Harry Potter and all of JK Rowlings works. I will always be a fan and I’m not ashamed to show my support for the show. Haters will hate and I will watch with joyous love and enthusiasm for the wizarding world we all love ❤️
I knew I needed to go back to spec savers but your thumbnail has proved it. I thought JK Rowling was Cathrine Tate in the thumbnail.
it seems that the older actors are the ones supporting her. the younger ones think theyre entitled to everything and they seem to forget that if it wasnt for her and her books, their careers may never have taken off or may have taken much longer to get a well recognized role. the younger ones love to preach and spew hate but dont seem to do a damn thing about trying to change it.
Especially that Watson Woman !
@@stevenplyler6306 shes the kind of feminist that people cant stand. she thinks shes high and mighty.
@@JohnGamingFuntime Anti-youth bias. Evanna Lynch (Luna) has expressed support for Rowling.
Cancelling people for simply having an opinion. Disgusting.
🤷♀ Oh poor JK Rowling her series is about to make billions and she’s worried about a few lousy boycott people. Let me repeat this is the Rowling we’re talking about. Owns the biggest property in the world, that still makes royalties every time merchandising sells. She’s got a video game that just came out that sold millions. She has a new series on Max that will undoubtedly draw thousands upon millions of views because of how big the brand is. She’s got theme parks that are visited daily by Harry Potter fans and she’s the one suffering a fictional boycott that is not stopping the money flow that is coming her away because she still has royalties and everything that comes from owning this god damn franchise.
I support you. Continue to stand up for your beliefs-
Yay! I’m so excited for this reboot! I absolutely adore Harry Potter and I love that these will be more like the books. Good riddance to the old three that have lots their minds and gratitude, apparently.
Harry Potter is HER world, not theirs
While I don't support Rowling I am in love with the story so I am eager to get the TV show. I just not sure how will I be able to watch it as I am not connected to HBO max. Maybe at some point they will release it to other platforms like Netflix or TH-cam red. Regardless I have a question for you Dean if you please- Was my favorite (Severus) in the Slug Club? In the movies it was never mentioned and in the book I couldn't quite understand the answer. I have a feeling that he was as Severus Snape was an extremely talented wizard, it make sense to me Slughorn recruited him.
Cancel culture goes both ways, just look at the Bud Light "controversy" it's all just a bit too much. Every time I see that kind of stuff I get Taylor Swift stuck in my head "You need to calm down, you're being too loud."
excluding the woman out her own creation is such a slap in the face
It's curious how the actors that portrayed the villains embody the values of the series better than 2 of the actors who portrayed the protagonists, who to be honest are behaving kinda like pure blood fanatics
I'm a human rights activist. I shake my head at how activist are handling things these days. It's not all about listening to one side and their opinion is right. You have to listen to both sides and if hate is in play where is it coming from? Trauma/experience, environment, teaching? Your mind has to be 100 percent open because you are supposed a listener, non judgemental and compassionate and times you can teach them the correct (not opinion) facts and show them the beauty. It's also respecting their trauma and sometimes education. As a human rights activist you help people grow and you also listen. There more to it but that's the basics.
just so every one is aware there are 3 renditions of the Worst Witch, so why the heck not have a reboot, faithful series for potter.
i love and adore jk and her works, harry potter are the first movies i've ever seen in the cenima and the book are the first books i've ever read, harry potter has been my favorite movies since i was 8 and even now as an adult , they are still my favorite movies
great videos and can't wait for the series
I’m beyond proud of Rowling for standing up for what she believes. She has been respectful and well informed about it all from day one. The disgusting abuse she faced was horrendous and unacceptable
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE UPDATES. YOU ARE THE MAN 🤙🤙
Thank you Ralphe and Jim ❤
All harry potter fans need to support her...... Nothing wrong with a woman wanting to protect their rights
I'm in full support of the TV show, but I'm not in support of what JK Rowling said. And yes, she has the right to say it, just like I have the right not to like it.
So long as your right to not like it doesn't overlap her right to speak it. We are on even ground.
@@blacknonbinarydisabledlesbian agreed.
I am one of those people neither in favor of nor opposed to the idea of a reboot, I just think it is too early in my opinion. I will say that I 100% support and agree with JK's comments. It is also oddly noteworthy that it is the older actors who are open minded and supportive of those, even with different views, and not the younger actors. Something to think about.
Yep those with more experience and wisdom are supporting her.
@@Ceddidulli Also fun side note, its the Slytherins that are the most level headed and open-minded
@@nategraham6946 I think the younger actors/actresses have mostly decided to just move on with their careers.
Luna's actress also voiced support for Rowling.
@@0816M3RC Well, yes and no. A couple want to move on, but at least one is vitriolic. And more points to Luna being the best character, sad she showed up so much later.
