its a clone and the mechanic that pieced it together used a tbi car and a tbi harness/computer to control a 90 style tpi efi, so im in the middle of a Holley stealth ram upgrade and a stock 7730/ 90 harness swap which includes repinng the bulk head as it was an 89 tbi car.... ive got the manifold and throttle body on just need to repin and figurte out the wiring!@@RamblinGarage

I just picked up a 91 GTA and plan to restore the original 16" diamond spoke wheels as well. They don't look too bad either. I'll save this video for reference till the time I plan do the process. There is alot of other repairs that are needed at the moment. I would consider buying those hawks 17" wheels and I think it will look good on a 91-92 GTAs. Especially like you said when its lowered, I bet look even better.
So when you say compound, did you mean rubbing compound like what is used for the body? I see that your using a Meguirs product which I support and used when I had my 89 GTA long ago. Just never used it on the wheels which my 89s wheel were pretty close to perfect so I never needed buffing other then polishing compound. Anyways thanks for posting.

Oh sweet, that'll be a fun project! Yeah these wheels are clear coated, so treat them like you would the clear coat on your car. You can even lightly wet sand if needed. I did test prior to this video with ultimate polish and it wasn't enough so I slowly used more and more aggressive compounds until I was happy with the result. I still need to follow up with a polish and wax or sealant to make them really pop, but they are improved already quite a bit. Next step for me is to put factory style turn down pipes on my magnaflow exhaust and then I need a new ypipe soon. I hope your project is good to you!

@@RamblinGarage appreciate the response. I'm hoping to post up my own videos on youtube on the restoration process as well.
Right now I'm just documenting everything and writing part numbers down on what I need before I begin.
      Funny you mention Y pipe.
I'm looking for one myself. I'm removing the long tube runners that was installed for stock manifolds (for the time being) and of course I'm going to need the Y pipe.
I havent decided if I want to make this car into a completely stock car or turn it into a resto-mod.
All i know it's going to look much better then how it sits right now. Keep that ride of yours looking good! 😎

I just subbed and I'll keep an eye out for videos in the future!
Make sure you keep an eye on Rockauto, I generally use them for parts numbers and will check prices elsewhere such as ebay or Amazon.. Amazon has been beating Rockauto as of late, which is a little surprising.
My car is a dual cat California car, so I'm going to be going with the factory style Magnaflow dual cat y-pipe. I usually try to keep my cars mostly stock, with the exception of intake and exhaust, I enjoy the noise.
      Best of luck on yours!

I prefer the look of the stock 16’s their so iconic. The hawks don’t look bad, but it loses some of the charm

I agree with you! I think this is your typical 80's muscle car, not very fast, good bit of torque.. the 17's took from that look with a skinny tire. Factory 16's add the thicker sidewall and just look better in my opinion.
