Surprised that for the Mirrormon to Mercurimon entry you didn't mention how Mirrormon looks almost like a mini AncientWisemon thus fitting even more with the line
Never watched Appmon myself, but I feel like a lot of them could work as Digimon. Plus, I'd love to see a piece of media pitting Huckmon against Hackmon.
The Pro and Con between Appmon and Xrosswar is that Appmon doesn't consider themself a true digimon-only sharing a universe. Like Karn says Digi-beetle is digimon but not actually digimon. While Xrosswar are digimon but digivolve as parts add-on; Appmon censiders themself digital beings that varied from digimon. That's why they somehow works and Xrosswar almost didn't. I consider Xrosswar below average because of this and because of digimon design that doesn't require evolutions... why did they make it that way? Anyway its not too stale of a series give it a try... I consider Xrosswar watching and still hated the decision but its an experience...
I mean, I just dont see why not. Who cares, they basically already are, yknow? I mean the card game is introducing X Digimon, so that aint going anywhere so why not do it to Appmon.

It made a lot of the new digimon feel disposable, only good for enhancing the main characters and being tossed aside afterwards. It made me resent the main digimon, Shoutmon, because he usually dominated the design whenever it didn't look like a mash-up mech that made me want to go watch a random sentai instead. I really wish we could have seen some of the new digimon of that time actually be developed beyond maybe 1 pure evolution (if they were lucky) and into true evolutionary trees.
That train line seems like an awesome idea. Resshamon - trailmon - locomon - gran locomon. If this digimon line could get some story in some digimon series, it would be awesome. Not only protagonists and their digimon can grow and become better. Their friends can too.
It could also work in Ghost game. In Japan, you have the story of a ghost train that transports the dead to the afterlife. A train digimon that transports digimon from the digital world to the real world and back could work perfectly in the series
I really want some big project where humans, Digimon, X-Antibody Digimon, Appmon, and even the Witches of Witchelny get to team up. Ideally to fight Eaters.
Right here with you wishing Appmon could be more than just a spinoff. I'm a little surprised you didn't mention AncientWisemon at the end, as Mirrormon is very clearly inspired by its design, if not directly based on it, and AncientMirriormon is obviously the ancient spirit that Mercurymon/Sephirothmon descend from. I honestly love how so many of the appmon look like squished down normal digimon. Really makes the universe feel more connected.
I have an idea where you could actually have the Appmon remain as their own thing, and instead have them act as living power-ups for regular Digimon using AppLink, kinda like those irl crabs that attach anemones to themselves. Child/Rookie level Digimon can only carry maybe one or two Standard grade Appmon, while high-level Digimon can hold more Appmon and of high levels, and the right combo of Appmon will have them AppGatti to an evolved form. As well as the usual stat boots, the Digimon can also summon an Appmon into battle to fight alongside it, much like how summons work in Final Fantasy X. Thoughts?
Appmon was great! I actually really enjoyed the season. Such a fun, different spin on Digimon. And it would be pretty cool if they merged it all together somehow, like adding them in to certain lines. It's been a while since I've watched it, so I can't suggest any of my own, but I think you made some great picks here!

Have to agree here, Appmon was good. It had problems but which show doesn't but overall it was perfectly fine as a standalone. Could have done without the whole TH-camr stuff though that stuff was pretty cringey after a while.
If you're digimon fan, you should watch Appmon. Yes, it's different from previous seasons, but it's good, really good. If you can accept Xros wars in which they erased level system, you can accept Appmon, too. After many years, Xros wars digimon got their levels, so maybe one day, Appmon would get same treatment. I would say that Appmon is better than Adventure 2020. And, you know, franchise must live; Xros wars, Appmon and even Ghost game change digimon drastically, but that's good.

Appmon's biggest flaw is trying to separate itself from Digimon. As far as writing goes, it's the most Digimon-like season of Digimon since Savers, possibly even since Tamers. Even though it looks different and doesn't reuse designs, writing-wise I think it deserves a spot right up there with the original three seasons. The writing style, pace, and quality is right up there with Tamers.
I’ll be honest, Appmon is probably the one Digimon season I’ve never seen, and I’ve only seen bits and pieces of it while also jamming out to it’s amazing theme songs. And the only Appmon I’ve seen are the actual partners, so I didn’t actually realize there were Appmon that were so visually similar to pre-existing Digimon. A lot of these pics make sense to me, with my personally favorites being Resshamon from the different trains, and that one that connected to Witchmon since I’ve always liked that design. Maybe I should give Appmon a shot, just not sure. Great video as always Karn!
Witchmon to Warudamon is one I've liked for a while too, but personally, I'd change the Mega to Rafflesimon and have the Rookie as Palmon/Alraumon. They look a little witch-like with the plants on their heads, but it is a little bit of a stretch, though the final form of Rafflesimon I feel brings the plant and witch/magic aspect together pretty well. Another one I like is Navimon eventually becoming Fujinmon, as they look fairly similar in my eyes. Going with the ninja and green theme, I'd have the full line as Navimon > Shurimon > Ajatarmon > Fujinmon. The only out-of-place one for this is Ajatarmon due to it being more of a plant and a hunter rather than a ninja, but coming after Shurimon, I feel it's a good connecter to Fujinmon. EDIT: Beautymon going to QueenChessmon I think is a pretty good one too, solely due to their stave/hammer thingies.
Mirrormon looks like it's final form should be ancientwisemon. Also yesterday I bought 6 packs of the new classic collection set and in the last pack I opened I pulled machinedramon!
kinda frustrating that the only thing bandai has to do is officially say that appmon can evolve into digimon and vice versa and then there would be no reason why they couldn't also appear in non-appmon exclusive media
I also really like gatchmon as a rookie for Dorulumon, who has no real rookie line. The construction theme works perfectly and would set Dorulumon to possibly go loaderliomon and eventually heavyleomon

Seems like just yesterday I thought Appmon was gonna cause a Digimon renaissance in the West. But Bandai of America or whoever owned the rights at the time apparently weren't as impressed as I was.
This was awesome seeing more of Appmon on the channel, I've not seen the series so I'm very unfamiliar with it (other than by name) but I certainly wouldn't be against seeing more content about it someday 👀
Very cool video! Really appreciate the topic and particularly like the ideas for Virusmon and Compassmon! As for me, something that comes to mind that isn't covered in this video would be Tapirmon/Bakumon --> Dreammon. They both share they same inspiration (tapir/baku), they're the right levels (Tapirmon is normally a Rookie and Dreammon is a Super-level Appmon, which would be converted to Champion here), and Dreammon would be much better suited for Tapirmon than any of its current "canon" evolution options like Boarmon or Monochromon(?) or whatever. It's just so perfect and would easily fit in there, and I'd love to see it (and with Ghost Game currently featuring a Tapirmon as a recurring character, now would be the perfect time, but I know that's not going to happen).
the fact that appmon borrows desgine from digimon but changed slightly makes it so they work so well if they were used in official digimon line, and bandai would save money by not needing to make entire new digimon. lol they should go ahead and do it
I feel like the Grades for Appmon have different power scaling compared to the Levels for Digimon The Standard Grade is obviously equivalent to the Rookie level and the Super Grade is Equivalent to Champion, maybe even an in between Champion and Ultimate but the reason I'm mentioning this is because of the Ultimate and God Grades. Personally I believe the Ultimate Grade is equivalent to a Mega level, since the Ultimate Grade Appmon we've seen have accomplished stuff that Megas could do, one notable example is Globemon erasing an entire virus that was infecting all of the Planet's technology in under a minute, and thus that would make the God Grade Equivalent to an Ultra level, which I think is more fitting for something referred to as "God"
If I remember correctly didn't DoGatchmon a Super Grade punched his enemy into several floating islands that some of the pieces of the island start to fall of. That sort of thing is no easy feat for any ordinary champion. Also Globemon feels like he has traits to omegamon and ulforceveedramon as his analysis capability is so fast that it appears as future prediction according to the wikimon and the only appmon able to rival him in analysis is sateramon and charismon and his armor was able to fly to space within seconds
I still haven't seen Appmon, but the first thing I saw in Compassmon was a Rookie for Clockmon. This might be wild, but I could really see Mirrormon as a Rookie for Wisemon; Mercurymon could still slot in as the Champion equivalent, but something about Mirrormon's little hat and sleeves really gave me the vibes of the Wisemon from Xros Wars.
I don't mind the idea of just tweaking them slightly to make them into digimon . IF we can have an appmon counterpart to Hackmon why cant a Digimon counterpart to Offmon exist for example. Before Jokemron was Canonized as a Perfect level I dif feel he was a solid champ for piedmon- and thne Fakemon was an amazing piedmon perfect. Warudamon for me is def a solid witchmon evo hell i thought that as soon as i saw her, i tihnk i personaly went with witch>Waruda>lilith but only due to not really having many female megas at the time.

They should really just break the glass and start with putting them in the vitual pets, they've already done it with Xros Wars and they fit into them a hell of a lot better than Shoutmon X4
Seeing the appmon integrated in digimon evolution lines is such an interesting possibility. While the appmon you've mention are interesting , there are some appmon that really should be included such Tripmon and Satellamon to Beelzebumon or Docmon to Vamdemon or Roleplaymon and Sakushimon.
What do you think of fangmon evolve into shutmon or eyesmon evolve to charismon because of the eye aesthetic than maybe charismon could evolve to abbadomon core as an evolution line
I need a Digimon app/game that kinda half takes over your phone like Siri or Google Assistant. You get 1 digitama/baby that you choose. And over time, or by completing goals you unlock evolution lines for your 1 Digimon. You can then use it to battle bosses and other players and decide how to digivolve based on conditions. But then reverts back to rookie and continues to act as your assistant.

I personally think Petit Mamon should be the canon Rookie for Barbamon since "Mammon" is the demon prince representing greed and plus they both have a staff. Vegasmon would slot in pretty decently as gambling fits that greed motif but I'm thinking there should also be a male version of Vegasmon to go with Petit Mamon/Pal and Pul themselves being brother and sister. That or make Barbamon transmasc, either is fine by me.
Based on Nostalgia 125 video, I saw Wisemon being Piemon’s ultimate and Jokermon being Tactimon’s. In Jokermon’s profile, it states that if Jokermon is on the battlefield then whatever side he is on is mostly likely will win. This is similar to Tactimon’s profile.
Didn't Appmon established that Agumon was Haru's partner digimon due to him playing a Digimon game in his childhood? For Eri, I can guess a Liollmon/ Gaomon to Bancholeomon for the fighting theme or Swimmon to Neptunemon for ( theme naming with Poseidomon) and Angoramon ( rabbit theme with Musimon) or Coronamon to Apollomon( light focus to match with Ouranosmon) for Torajirou.
feel like Beautymon to Venusmon would be better. Seeing as Venus is the Roman form of Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty. Both Mons cover their eyes as well giving a parallel in the forms. EDIT: And let’s be honest, the Olympus 12 need more love. We have seen full evo lines for like maybe half… not including Plutomon and Titanmon as they aren’t considered to be part of the group.
I love the appmon series. I remember in my d&digimon campaign we had diaboromon digivolve into rebootmon. We also had a fakemon in the campaign and he was a menace.
I know CatchMamemon and Datamon are both Ultimates, but Gashamon reminds me more of Datamon...but I also see the Japanese game connection...split Digivolution paths maybe?
Fun fact: In the Appmon anime and card game Ultimate Grade Appmon are shown to be comparable to Ultimate (Mega) Level Digimon, potentially suggesting the similar name may be intentional. Meanwhile Super Grade Appmon obtained via Super Appliarise sounds similar to how Perfect Level Digimon are obtained via Super Evolution. And, when looking at their placement in the shows, a lot of Standard Grade enemies take on similar roles and threat levels as Adults in earlier series, though some are also obvious parallels to Child Levels, the 2 standard Digimon growth Levels (besides Baby). And, as for God Grade: It not debuting until the series finale is a mainstay of Ultimate+. Ultimate (Mega) Levels always appear much earlier than the finale. This seems to be rather intentional, as if they are supposed to lineup: Standard=Child/Adult, Super=Perfect, Ultimate=Ultimate, God=Ultimate+. This isn't a criticism of the video, I liked it, I just notice this info gets regularly overlooked when discussing Appmon Levels, and wanted to bringing it more attention.
I just watched Appli Monsters recently and yes! So many designs feel like they could be part of actual Digimon canon. I think Hackmon's and Sleepmon's design fits really well for Digimon Edit: Can't believe I forgot Coordemon and Effecmon, I'd say their design fits just fine with maybe some minor tweaks
Top 10 appmon i want as Digimon in no order. 10. All of the main characters partners and lines. Didn't want them to hog the list so I put them in one entry. 9. Onmon line. 8. Batterimon. We need more machine rookie Digimon. 7. Weathermon line. Just look at his line they all have so much potential as Digimon with some redesigns. 6. Auctiomon. He makes a great NPC. He could be in charged of all the shops in the Digital World and his design is great. 5. Crafton. Good design and purpose in the Digital World. 4. Ropuremon. A rookie hero, a great start to many Digimon lines. 3. Tarotmon. A good wizard Digimon. 2. Mirrormon. Its too good to ignore. 1. Charismon. Its too cool.

I always felt like Protecmon was a blatant reference to Guardromon. Why don't they just add the Appmon to the greater Digimon lore? They'd work so well.
Just like other V-pet creatures are part of a kind of multiverse and can sorta cross over to one another (while changing in some way), I think the same could apply to Appmon. I would rather see that explored as a whole (with other V-pets) than just have it with these guys. Either way, this was a great video!
Personally I feel like Appmon would work great as beings actually native to Cyberspace, with Digimon being usual extraplanar interlopers. It would be a great way to spice up a future Cyber Sleuth style setting.

I have seen the evolution sequence for Appmon. The sounds for it were horrible when they went to obnoxious levels of high pitch. Everything else was fine.
When I watched appmon for the first time I was kind of shoked to see mirrormon in opening thinkig it was smaller ancient wisemon, now im just angry that it doesnt evolve into it or mercurymon (i think thats how its written?)

I think Mirrormon looks like a small AncientWisemon, so that also adds to fitting with Spirits of Metal
I think Hackmon (Appmon) would make a much better rookie level for Wizardmon than Candlemon.

Actually, Alraumon to Witchmon makes a lot of sense because Alraumon is based on the mandrake, a plant commonly associated with magic and witchcraft.

Yeah I think the fact Fusion didn't do super well was already setting Appmon off on the wrong foot to succeed outside of Japan

This was awesome seeing more of Appmon on the channel, I've not seen the series so I'm very unfamiliar with it (other than by name) but I certainly wouldn't be against seeing more content about it someday 👀
Very cool video! Really appreciate the topic and particularly like the ideas for Virusmon and Compassmon! As for me, something that comes to mind that isn't covered in this video would be Tapirmon/Bakumon --> Dreammon. They both share they same inspiration (tapir/baku), they're the right levels (Tapirmon is normally a Rookie and Dreammon is a Super-level Appmon, which would be converted to Champion here), and Dreammon would be much better suited for Tapirmon than any of its current "canon" evolution options like Boarmon or Monochromon(?) or whatever. It's just so perfect and would easily fit in there, and I'd love to see it (and with Ghost Game currently featuring a Tapirmon as a recurring character, now would be the perfect time, but I know that's not going to happen).
the fact that appmon borrows desgine from digimon but changed slightly makes it so they work so well if they were used in official digimon line, and bandai would save money by not needing to make entire new digimon. lol they should go ahead and do it
I feel like the Grades for Appmon have different power scaling compared to the Levels for Digimon
The Standard Grade is obviously equivalent to the Rookie level and the Super Grade is Equivalent to Champion, maybe even an in between Champion and Ultimate
but the reason I'm mentioning this is because of the Ultimate and God Grades. Personally I believe the Ultimate Grade is equivalent to a Mega level, since the Ultimate Grade Appmon we've seen have accomplished stuff that Megas could do, one notable example is Globemon erasing an entire virus that was infecting all of the Planet's technology in under a minute, and thus that would make the God Grade Equivalent to an Ultra level, which I think is more fitting for something referred to as "God"
If I remember correctly didn't DoGatchmon a Super Grade punched his enemy into several floating islands that some of the pieces of the island start to fall of. That sort of thing is no easy feat for any ordinary champion. Also Globemon feels like he has traits to omegamon and ulforceveedramon as his analysis capability is so fast that it appears as future prediction according to the wikimon and the only appmon able to rival him in analysis is sateramon and charismon and his armor was able to fly to space within seconds
@@sleekemu356 there is also the episode where Globemon fought side by side with Wargraymon and they seemd about on the same level of power

I still haven't seen Appmon, but the first thing I saw in Compassmon was a Rookie for Clockmon. This might be wild, but I could really see Mirrormon as a Rookie for Wisemon; Mercurymon could still slot in as the Champion equivalent, but something about Mirrormon's little hat and sleeves really gave me the vibes of the Wisemon from Xros Wars.

I don't mind the idea of just tweaking them slightly to make them into digimon . IF we can have an appmon counterpart to Hackmon why cant a Digimon counterpart to Offmon exist for example.
Before Jokemron was Canonized as a Perfect level I dif feel he was a solid champ for piedmon- and thne Fakemon was an amazing piedmon perfect.
Warudamon for me is def a solid witchmon evo hell i thought that as soon as i saw her, i tihnk i personaly went with witch>Waruda>lilith but only due to not really having many female megas at the time.
PSA: If you haven't watched Appmon and love Digimon, watch Appmon. Its a great season. Don't let the slight name change keep you away from one of the brightest gems in the franchise

They should really just break the glass and start with putting them in the vitual pets, they've already done it with Xros Wars and they fit into them a hell of a lot better than Shoutmon X4

Seeing the appmon integrated in digimon evolution lines is such an interesting possibility. While the appmon you've mention are interesting , there are some appmon that really should be included such Tripmon and Satellamon to Beelzebumon or Docmon to Vamdemon or Roleplaymon and Sakushimon.
Jetmon and Shotmon look like a rookies for Pteramon and Deputymon.

I need a Digimon app/game that kinda half takes over your phone like Siri or Google Assistant. You get 1 digitama/baby that you choose. And over time, or by completing goals you unlock evolution lines for your 1 Digimon. You can then use it to battle bosses and other players and decide how to digivolve based on conditions. But then reverts back to rookie and continues to act as your assistant.
That could be really cool!
Just really tired of the Pokemon method of "gotta catch 'em all". I want my 1 Digimon partner that grows adapts. Like we see in the show.

I personally think Petit Mamon should be the canon Rookie for Barbamon since "Mammon" is the demon prince representing greed and plus they both have a staff. Vegasmon would slot in pretty decently as gambling fits that greed motif but I'm thinking there should also be a male version of Vegasmon to go with Petit Mamon/Pal and Pul themselves being brother and sister. That or make Barbamon transmasc, either is fine by me.

Based on Nostalgia 125 video, I saw Wisemon being Piemon’s ultimate and Jokermon being Tactimon’s. In Jokermon’s profile, it states that if Jokermon is on the battlefield then whatever side he is on is mostly likely will win. This is similar to Tactimon’s profile.
Always thought it would be cool for Sateramon to digivolve to Magnakidmon, since they both give off similar vibes

Which Digimon partner would App Drivers have? Rei and Hack obviously but what about Haru, Eri, and Asuka?
Didn't Appmon established that Agumon was Haru's partner digimon due to him playing a Digimon game in his childhood? For Eri, I can guess a Liollmon/ Gaomon to Bancholeomon for the fighting theme or Swimmon to Neptunemon for ( theme naming with Poseidomon) and Angoramon ( rabbit theme with Musimon) or Coronamon to Apollomon( light focus to match with Ouranosmon) for Torajirou.

feel like Beautymon to Venusmon would be better. Seeing as Venus is the Roman form of Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty. Both Mons cover their eyes as well giving a parallel in the forms.
EDIT: And let’s be honest, the Olympus 12 need more love. We have seen full evo lines for like maybe half… not including Plutomon and Titanmon as they aren’t considered to be part of the group.

I love the appmon series. I remember in my d&digimon campaign we had diaboromon digivolve into rebootmon.
We also had a fakemon in the campaign and he was a menace.
I know CatchMamemon and Datamon are both Ultimates, but Gashamon reminds me more of Datamon...but I also see the Japanese game connection...split Digivolution paths maybe?
What about Coordemon > Bastemon > LovelyAngemon? That would rock 🔥🔥
Fun fact: In the Appmon anime and card game Ultimate Grade Appmon are shown to be comparable to Ultimate (Mega) Level Digimon, potentially suggesting the similar name may be intentional. Meanwhile Super Grade Appmon obtained via Super Appliarise sounds similar to how Perfect Level Digimon are obtained via Super Evolution. And, when looking at their placement in the shows, a lot of Standard Grade enemies take on similar roles and threat levels as Adults in earlier series, though some are also obvious parallels to Child Levels, the 2 standard Digimon growth Levels (besides Baby). And, as for God Grade: It not debuting until the series finale is a mainstay of Ultimate+. Ultimate (Mega) Levels always appear much earlier than the finale. This seems to be rather intentional, as if they are supposed to lineup: Standard=Child/Adult, Super=Perfect, Ultimate=Ultimate, God=Ultimate+. This isn't a criticism of the video, I liked it, I just notice this info gets regularly overlooked when discussing Appmon Levels, and wanted to bringing it more attention.

I just watched Appli Monsters recently and yes! So many designs feel like they could be part of actual Digimon canon. I think Hackmon's and Sleepmon's design fits really well for Digimon

10. All of the main characters partners and lines. Didn't want them to hog the list so I put them in one entry.
9. Onmon line.
8. Batterimon. We need more machine rookie Digimon.
7. Weathermon line. Just look at his line they all have so much potential as Digimon with some redesigns.
6. Auctiomon. He makes a great NPC. He could be in charged of all the shops in the Digital World and his design is great.
5. Crafton. Good design and purpose in the Digital World.
4. Ropuremon. A rookie hero, a great start to many Digimon lines.
3. Tarotmon. A good wizard Digimon.
2. Mirrormon. Its too good to ignore.
1. Charismon. Its too cool.
I feel like gashamon works amazingly as childish rookie to datamons more serious ultimate there isnt really anything to work as a champion but visually they are really similar

I always felt like Protecmon was a blatant reference to Guardromon. Why don't they just add the Appmon to the greater Digimon lore? They'd work so well.
Just like other V-pet creatures are part of a kind of multiverse and can sorta cross over to one another (while changing in some way), I think the same could apply to Appmon.
I would rather see that explored as a whole (with other V-pets) than just have it with these guys.

Personally I feel like Appmon would work great as beings actually native to Cyberspace, with Digimon being usual extraplanar interlopers.
It would be a great way to spice up a future Cyber Sleuth style setting.

I have seen the evolution sequence for Appmon. The sounds for it were horrible when they went to obnoxious levels of high pitch. Everything else was fine.
Its an intresting evaluation line where you are required to get a load of digimon to sacrifice for an evaluation

When I watched appmon for the first time I was kind of shoked to see mirrormon in opening thinkig it was smaller ancient wisemon, now im just angry that it doesnt evolve into it or mercurymon (i think thats how its written?)
