12:04 that's actually a really cool video idea. "10 digimon that should share an attack" or something. There probably should be some digimon that share attacks, and it's honestly a little weird that Bandai has never explored it.
Wonder what's next evil mega evolution counterparts like blackwargreymon and megidramon or a step crazier and look at the other digidensted as digimon emperor variants?
I wonder if there are any Digimon outside of the main cast and Death X-style evolutions that would make for good Death Digivolutions? More variants of Huskmon for other Incestoid Digimon? Actual reaper and skeletal forms for Undead-like Digimon? Digimon zombies (kinda surprised that one hasn’t been done)? Not only are there plenty of ideas that could be used (some of which wouldn’t even need censorship for international release) but it’s kinda surprising no one on the official teams has thought to do this before! Happy All Hallows Eve!
Loved the video, Karn. However, it also reminded me of a small pet peeve I have with Skull Greymon, that he's technically not dead, unlike Skull Baluchimon and Skull Mammon, and should not be classified as an Undead type.
Partially Incorrect. The whole point of dex digimon is aside from dexmon who made them they are basically zombies. Theres lots of digimon classified as undead but dex digimon are the only literal undead in digimon and ones like skullmammon, skullgreymon or skullbaluchimon are just born from data taken from fossil data stored on museum servers and such. Similar to how digimon like bakemon or vamdemon are taken from data on folklore or horror films etc or how many machine digimon are born from data from stuff like robot schematics or tank blueprints . Most digimon are like that in fact. Source: try reading digipedia entries on wikimon or heck boot up an old completed game file and read the digipedia there. Theres tons of references to data on fossils being skull digimons origin.
@@Coomamon_Memes Well, I believe that, the DeX line its considered Undead-type because in the manga Digimon Chronicles they were born when the main Dorumon killed his clones. If I remember correctly, when Raptordramon killed a cloned DORUgamon he was revived as a Death-X-DORUgamon, and the same thing happened to DORUguremon and DORUgoramon, that when they died they where revived in their Death-X's forms, hence the Undead type, and the name Death-X Evolution. What I meant was that unlike Skull Baluchimon who was "born" from the data of many fossils or Skull Mammon who was revived from a dead Mammon, Skull Greymon's profile is pretty clear on the fact that the Greymon that became it, did not die, the quote on the profile even says: ...and as a result of its combat instinct it CLUNG TO LIFE despite its body rotting away, becoming Skull Greymon. So unlike the other two Skull Greymon never died, like Skull Mammon, or had data from dead creatures infused with its body, like Skull Baluchimon, and with that information, I believe that Skull Greymon shouldn't be classified as an Undead Digimon, instead it should have retained its Dinosaur type classification. I personally believe that Raremon and RareRaremon should be Mutant-type Digimon, as their profiles mention that they survived both the mechanization and decomposition processes.
@@EpiusAgrios hard to say because theres a few contradicting digipedia entries but stuff like death-x greymon, vilemon and others exist too as actually undead versions and theyre very consistent on this with deX digimon while they flip flop on flavor text for the skull digimon. Digimon doesnt have the best track record for translating too so id trust the deX digimon info more than the couple skull digimon entries that call them undead then say theyre just based on undead later on. Theres skull digimon in the games that talk and such too but deX digimon are always shown as snarling zombies. Official info even says deX digimon lack a digicore aka a digimons soul. Theyre truly undead. Animate husks of what was once alive. You gotta also remember that undead is a species like dinosaur or angel species but obviously they arent actual dinosaurs or biblical angels and just look like them. Same with undead. Id chalk up the handful of skullbaluchi and skullmammon entries as poorly worded or badly translated flavor text referencing species. DeX digimon info is also pretty consistent while ive seen skullballuchi and skullmamon talk and have a personality in the games. Imo cnsistent lore directly shown in manga, anime or game plots is far more credible than inconsistent flavor text from old discontinued tcg or game menus most players never even touch.
@@Coomamon_Memes I know but the classification of the undead Digimon, in particular, is always strange, or like you said inconsistent on one side you get zombies (Dex family, Oboromon, and Troopmon), Vampires (Vamdemon's and Dracumon's family), mummies (Mummymon), and those who were dead but came back (Skull Digimon). On the other side, you get Digmons that would fit better as Cyborgs or Mutants (Breakdramon, Mad Leomon: Armed Mode, and the Raremons), out-of-control Digimon in Skull Greymon and Mad Leomon, and Skull Knightmon. What makes Skull Knightmon an Undead Digmon and not a Warrior or Dark Knight type? I have no idea. Honestly, you're right, it seems that if a Digimon looks dead or has a skull theme, it gets classified as Undead, regardless of the official profile.
@@EpiusAgrios well thats true but what im getting at is classification is basically just a name to lump it together with other similar looking digimon. DeX digimon are basically true undead while undead species are just called that and the references to revival or reanimation is likely saying how it evolved. Its basically the pokemon joke about how a ghost type eeveelutions evolution stone would be a brick. Lol. Basically an upset greymon might go spooky but one that pops a vessel, strokes out and keels over gets a guaranteed halloween makeover. deX-greymon on the other hand (not dexdorugreymon) caught a zombie cold. Also i always viewed digimon like madleomon or metalgreymon blue as based on stuff like the cyborg zombies in resident evil or some depictions of frankensteins monster. Weaponized zombies with machine parts to make then more effective or replace body parts that fell off.
I feel Thanatosmon could not only refer to the Greek god of death but also, coincidentally, there's an actual abelisaurid dinosaur named "Thanos" (Thanos simonatti). Whether or not it's named after the Greek god or the Marvel villain is up for debate.
These are great concepts and the artists did an amazing job! But if I could nitpick for a moment, I wonder if these feel quite as related to their base digimon as Ponchomon does to Togemon. Obviously they're based on them, that's clear. But if Death Digivolution is a digimon dying, then Ponchomon doesn't really feel like a Togemon that died somehow. It's definitely a ghostly Togemon with some mexican inspirations, but it's also a lot of fun! It doesn't really feel malevolent or even really undead at all. So I feel like you could have given these forms a fun spin as well. I don't know, just my two sense. Great video as always!
I am LIVING for Shinumon, what a cool design and I love Bleach so that is just icing on the dead cake. So cool to see new artists! They fit right in and I love them!
I thought Bakemon and Mephistomon were a Death Evolution, though that said I had the idea of a Digimon who evolves by either dying or coming very close to it.
Love these. But I think Erebusmon would work better as a name for Thanatosmon. Keeping the same Greek inspiration, but using the name of their underworld instead of the entity just to make it a little more connected to the fire theme.
Great video as always Karn! I liked the art of the Death digimon and your explanations of how they became those evolutions. Do Death digimon usually have only one form or do they evolve to Perfect and Ultimate? If so will you do another video of the Death Adventure Digimon evolving?
I feel shinumon probably hit the mark the best out of these without falling fully into a dark esque evo since panchomon still feels like a good digimon despite its undeath
This is really cool and throughout the video I began to imagine the 02 partner digimon getting death digivolutions So if you ever do that maybe these could help inspire something First up is Wormmon. I like to imagine this would take place during the Kimeramon fight. Where instead of giving Magnamon the last of his energy Wormmon in a defiant act forces his dying body to digivolve to help save his former master. Thus he becomes DeathBeemon. Why DeathBeemon? Simple. Stingmon is a bee. How do bees die? They lose their sting. And there is a thing known as Dead Bee. Thus DeathBeemon. A Stingmon who lost his sting but desperately fights to live as his body suffers convulsions trying to drag him to the afterlife. Ankylomon becomes Borealmon. Rather then become a fossil Ankylomon instead becomes mummified becoming a walking stone corpse. This is based on the iconic Borealopelta preserved fossil found some years back. Aquilamon becomes Chindimon. Chindimon is the ghostly remnants of Aquilamon who refuses to pass on. Its feathers are all disshelved and pale. It's face now covered by a cracked skull. This is based on the thunderbird legend as well as the navajo word for ghost known as Chindi. Last is Exveemon. This was a tough one. However I had a fun idea. Exveemon is the digimon of victory. It is never meant to know defeat. So even in death it fights out. Thus we have X-Ceptmon. Name coule use work but its meant to be based on Exception. This is an Exveemon who's body keeps fighting even in death. It won't succumb to a loss. Its hands are nothing but bone and its iconic V is now an X. Yet its glowing blue eyes show even in death he will still keep fighting. Are any of these good? I have no idea. I'm sure you could do better. But your vid legit inspired me and I hope to see more of these in the future.
Shinumon with that design could work as a Tactimon pre evolution. It's said that Tactimon's katana can control spirit, so what if a Shinumon who defeated enough opponents and absorbed their spirits in its sword, could regain its living form and become Tactimon?
I think I found some inspiration. I was thinking of doing a variant of one of my digimon OCs. As it is a young animal that eventually turns into a nature deity, I wanted the variant to have a winter theme but I didn't want it to simply be a recolor like how BlackGabumon and Psychemon are to Gabumon. Then I found this video and thought maybe I could throw the undead aspect in there as well as a nod to sleeping/dead trees in winter. Maybe the digimon succumbed to the cold like your Garurumon did, or perhaps it lost a fight with an IceDevimon or something, and his ice affected it's data.
I really loved thantosmon. This made me think of a thing I would find cool in the digimon card game, a black and purple digimon line for virus greymon's with skull greymon as the ultimate,
Thanatosmon reminds me of Shin Godzilla which I find awesome, the molten look will never go old imo. Everyone did such an amazing job on the drawings too!
better name for the dub attack coulda been Necro blast, necro being short for necrosis or necrotic (one being the body actively dying and the other causing the body to start Dieing)
This was fun. I hope that, in addition to seeing Death Digivolution for the other seasons, I'd like to see what these fan-made Digimon & Panchomon would look like if they had original Digivolution lines, as in Digivolving into Ultimate and then Mega.

@@Coomamon_Memes
Well, I believe that, the DeX line its considered Undead-type because in the manga Digimon Chronicles they were born when the main Dorumon killed his clones.
Greymon and Garurumon's death digivolutions are awesome 🙌
I feel Thanatosmon could not only refer to the Greek god of death but also, coincidentally, there's an actual abelisaurid dinosaur named "Thanos" (Thanos simonatti).
Whether or not it's named after the Greek god or the Marvel villain is up for debate.
Shiroadimon also sounds like Schrodinger, like the cat? That’s what I thought the name was based on. And the Birdramon one reminded me of Sabredramon.
Pochomon: vibing
The rest: dying
I thought Bakemon and Mephistomon were a Death Evolution, though that said I had the idea of a Digimon who evolves by either dying or coming very close to it.
buzzardramon and ponchomon looking like they belong on a more dry, dessert area fits well too
Love these. But I think Erebusmon would work better as a name for Thanatosmon. Keeping the same Greek inspiration, but using the name of their underworld instead of the entity just to make it a little more connected to the fire theme.
Start of video: Oh this is gonna be fun.
halfway through video: *Hugging my cat and crying*
Neko Devimon would be such a nice name for Gatomons death form/evo. I can hear it go , Neko Devimon 超進化 (chou shinka), Lady Devimon...
Shiroadmon is so messed up lmaoooo
Birddramon and Kabuterimon's arts look official ngl, they actually nailed the digimon art style
I love death digimon. Amazing job
This is really cool and throughout the video I began to imagine the 02 partner digimon getting death digivolutions
So if you ever do that maybe these could help inspire something
First up is Wormmon.
I LOVE Kabuterimon, Gatomon, and Garurumon's death evolutions. They're metal as hell!
Kabuterimon’s is giving me major Hollow Knight vibes and I LOVE it
Your videos never fail to entertain. Keep up the top-tier content. Your other channel is fantastic too.
Glad you enjoy it!
"Togemon shouldn't have to die alone" 😂 come on everyone get in there and perish, it'll be fine!
All his friends are doing it, it's cool!
Shiroadmon is obviously a Chuumon armor evo... the trashy boy meets a trashy end... 😢
I love abyssmon and Husk Mon Such bangers
That Sans jumpscare nearly gave me a heart attack.
Shiroadmon just through phonetics could also equate to erode like an eroding body
Waw!
That new artist knocked it outta the part with Shiroadmon
better name for the dub attack coulda been Necro blast, necro being short for necrosis or necrotic (one being the body actively dying and the other causing the body to start Dieing)
A fantastic set of spooky digimon! I love Huskmon and Thanatosmon
Karn I was wondering if you have done a video on making name accurate attacks or even changing the names of some of the adventure digimons abilities.
i also like how the purple-black skin on gilgamon also references how severely frostbitten skin looks like
Shirodmon also has the “erode” sound. It could be ShErodemon
This was fun. I hope that, in addition to seeing Death Digivolution for the other seasons, I'd like to see what these fan-made Digimon & Panchomon would look like if they had original Digivolution lines, as in Digivolving into Ultimate and then Mega.
Now I just gotta figure out what I’m gonna do with Kabuterimon’s Legs…
