    Can you make a video on how smoking can effect your skin? A couple months ago I stopped smoking and it’s like my skin went from oily to dry 😨 I know it’s winter but this happened when I quit for a while before and even to the point where people commented on my skin not being as oily. It would be cool to have a deep dive on it 🌈

      Did you change your regimen? I went cold turkey after smoking for 14 years and I feel like I cant say whether my skin changed in that kind of way, but I can say that my best friend was oily until he stopped overwashing and started moisturizing and the oil production slowed. It turned out he had dry skin all along that was trying to protect itself from all the acne cleanser and dryness.

    • @nightasmr9073

      @@SSNUTHIN Honestly no not really 😱 I’ve used a ton of skincare in the past three years and I’m pretty aware of what my skin likes and what it doesn’t like (Niacinamide mainly) I was kind of thinking maybe it was a change to my routine but it’s been so drastic I don’t think it could just account to a product 😥 a majority of my family has dry skin and I’ve been the only one with oily and acne prone skin 😮 and now that I stopped smoking I have normal to dry skin 😱 luckily I know how to manage it but it’s unusual

    • @taliaabu1531
      @taliaabu1531 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@SSNUTHIN I also went cold turkey, after 16 years, and my dark patches, malasma, have really faded: they're not gone completely but it looks much better. Also, my nose has gotten much less porey. My regime remained the same: cera ve or the inkey list, and sunscreen. So I'm sure it's quiting smoking that made the difference.

    I try to keep simple my skincare routine and use just an cleanser, essence and mosturizer and sometimes retinol. My face isn't healed yet after the acne that just appeared when COVID19 started. I had acne in the past but it was just for several years. Now I have it and I can't just help myself with it. It is not so bad but I have a lot of hyperpigmentation. Hope all will be alright this year for everyone. Love you Cass

    I was burning my skin off a lot, especially in summer. Then I realized I can't use chemical sunscreen. For some reason my skin changed, maybe my age, maybe because I started using more actives and my skin would burn, get red and peel. I finally found some moisturizers that healed my skin and now I'm not using my exfoliating skin wash. I'll wait until tretinoin and vitamin C can be used daily before I exfoliate again. Vitamin C is very irritating to me too. I'm using Mae Love 3 serums and I'm doing better, but I don't have a routine I can use everyday right now. I can't use Cervave either. That burns like crazy.

      Based on what you described, i think it's not hyperpigmentation. It's tanning. If your skin tans very easily, wear sunscreen religiously. Make sure the UVA protection of the sunscreen is high. If the UV index is really high, you may want to wear a hat. Vitamin C can help brighten your complexion. If your skin also looks dull, you may want to use a Lactic Acid serum 2-3 times a week. It takes months or even years to see drastic results, though.

    just a quick comment in reference to being overwhelmed shopping for skincare. Sephora always gave samples of anything someone wanted to try, before they bought something. In addition, the consultants there are pretty well trained to figure out what you may need, prior to offering product suggestions . Just thought I’d clarify that for your viewers. Sorry you had such a bad experience using the “goopy” stuff.
