Skydive Vibes well I guess I do have a question. The drop zone I signed up for has a weight requirement of 235 or less do you think weight is a major issue in the AFF course?
My new G4 just arrived and initial fit is snug as a bug. Very quiet and nicely built. Visor is difficult to open and will take some operation before it loosens up. I think I am going to love this helmet!

@@jimmaddox5958 I live in ND. My son is in Wyoming. I was planning on visiting him and going to NM for my second tandem and my son's first. I don't know of any DZ closer to Wyoming that would most likely be open during the winter months
im using the cookie m3 for a while. it also has the crash protection, just open faced. really happy with it, sits well and feels good on jumps

Hopefully fits better. I tried G3, and bought KISS instead. The field of view on KISS is unbeatable.

I will grab the g4 for the improved protection. Just because I had a snell rated helmet that saved my life in a motorcycle accident.

@@SkydiveVibes Its my first full face helmet after AFF and he feels for me really comfortable and quiet. Buut the quality of the color is not that good. Afer a few jumps I got some ugly deep scratches on it because the laquer layer is verry verry thin. Thats for a expensive product a little bit dissapointing.

@@SkydiveVibes Matt black. But this quality issue affects all G4 Helmets. For example, my motorcycle helm is matt black to. And he looks better after 2 years of usage than the G4 after 1 week. But luckily we can put some cool stickers on it😂

in april i wll be going to Lodi with my instructors and 7 other friend skydivers, and i was looking to get the g3 as my first own helmet, but a bunch of people, skydivers and wind tunnel guys that have g3s have told me to not get a g3 because of its lack in security.. thing is.. i love the way the g3 looks.. but not really sure if i should sacrafice safety for a little better looks.. so yeah.. g4 might be an option.. but will have to personally try it before buying..
Yes, it's a good thing to try it out first. Personally, until not long ago I didn't see the need for extra safety protection. It is still rare to have a hard enough collision where the impact rating would come handy. I would say that I see more its necessity in the tunnel than in the sky because the chance of collisions is higher. But we never know...
After trying the Kiss, G3, and the G4 I went with the G4 as it was the only one that fit comfortably with my big noggin! I may in the future void the impact rating and install a camera but them again they do make a lot of really nice open face purpose built helmets for that....we'll see.
Can you review the Bonehead lines...like the Aero Full face helmet.

If someone already owns a G3, other than being impact rated, would you consider actually upgrading for a cost of $440USD before tax? That seems like a lot for some minor changes.
Not necessarily. I guess you would need to wamt to have this protection. Other than that it's a similar helmet I agree. On the pricing side, I know that getting such a certification can be costly. So this might explain it.
The mark up on skydiving helmets it's insane. We shouldn't buy into it's bullshit. More than 100 dollars is insane. This Hemet cost less than 20 to make and the skydiving community needs to stop giving into it.
Looks nice, but I'll stick with my Kiss for now :) I hope they changed the inside, only reason went with the Kiss is cause the G3 didn't feel right on my melon. Great vid as always :) keep em coming.

@@callsignblaze4388 The Kiss fits my head (and anyone elses who's tried it on) perfectly, I could fall asleep with it on no problem! Highly recommend :) but I've not tried the G4 on so I cant say if that issue still exists with some shape heads I guess. All I know my Kiss is amazing and worth the price! I've got the clear visor and the silver tinted visor and its SUPER simple to change them on the fly. Not bashing the G4 at all, I jus recommend the Kiss. I'll come across someone who gets a G4 so I'll definitely try er on :)
I’m currently in STP and about to start wearing a full face G4 oppose to the open face student helmets! But I know when I get to my 200 I’m going to want a cam to record for coach and video spec. Any suggestions on what camera and helmet choice would best suit that function?

Why?
I have a Bonehead too, can definitely recommend it. It has a superior field of vision and it is more adjustable to the shape of my head (compared to a G3). On top of that it uses more reliable materials for the locking mechanism and shell in terms of strength, impact and wear. They also have several 'hybrid' versions between open and fullface helmets, which some people are into as well.
How does one mount video camera on the new Cookie G4 without risking voiding the XP S 72-600 certification???

I started to look to buy a Cookie helmet. I am currently hesitating between the G3 and the G4. I was wondering if there really is a big difference between the two, especially for freedom of movement. I am a beginner in sport (Brevet A). Do you have something to advise me?
I think it's a little bigger than G3 in my humble opinion looks like motorcycle helmet. G3 the best!!
In fact, the G4 is not that bigger. So it won't affect any mouvement. It really is a question of price and if you want a camera PLUS the impact certification.
How accurate is the measurement chart tool????
That's a good question since the units aren't sold yet so we can't compare. If you already have a G3 I can say it run a bit smaller than the G3.

The first though i had when i saw the g4 was that i neeeed it, but after this review about it you got me to think otherwise. I think it looks way to big and clumsy, and i dont really care for the slightly improved protection.
Ok. Like I said, it is surprising how it's not that much bigger than the G3. You should see it live. What did you see that made it seem clumsy?
@@SkydiveVibes yeah i think i will have to see it in person. What i mean by clumsy is the size for the most part. And also the way I will void my warranty if i mount a cookie roller mount to it is absurd... they're basicly forcing us to go grellfab then...
@@TheMagnusNeergaard It voids the certification about snag hazard but not necessarly the warranty. Even if you use the Gellfab you are creating snag hazards.

IAM checking your videos for a while now and they are really nice!! Doing my aff soon and looking forward to this sport! (Waiting for this for years! Didn't pass health stuff because of broken bones hehe...) Thank you for making me more excited to do the aff! Hope to buy some gear soon as possible! Only besides your nice videos how do you can afford Al those "expensive stuff?" I know it is necessary but some things cost quit a lot of money? What is your opinion about this? Should I buy some equipment? And a rig later? Or do you recommend buying ma one rig asap after the aff?

Yeah don't do that .. motorcycle helmet will be MUCH better because it absorbs more force. MC helmet is also thicker
