- "Looking to the contribution of mobility in the climate change and to the challenges that it creates, the development of electric vehicles remains, more than ever, a relevant - and necessary response. Within this scope, the European Commission has suggested the ban of thermal vehicles in 2035 converging towards carbon neutrality in 2050. Hydrogen mobility, as a complementary solution with battery energy storage technologies, meets specific market needs, in terms of range and/or for intensives uses.
As a tier 1 supplier, Plastic Omnium New Energies division is fully engaged in the development & deployment at large scale of both Hydrogen Pressure Storage and Fuel Cell Modules covering a wide range of applications. The European Commission approved the IPCEI - Important Projects of Common European Interest “Hy2Tech” on July 15th, 2022. The project aims at the development of a European value chain in hydrogen generation, storage, transportation and distribution as well as conversion by using fuel cells and ICE in end-user applications. 41 projects operated by 35 companies out of 15 EU member states will invest 14.2 billion Euro - Plastic Omnium New Energies has been selected for 2 majors projects: 1 leading by Austrian team to address the development and industrialization of Fuel Cell Modules for Heavy Duty applications (mass production), 1 leading by French team to propose mass production of Hydrogen Pressure Storage. For both projects innovative solution will be proposed in term of production and/or technologies used."
