when it comes to perfection, I think it comes down to our era of its perception, a day of fully electronic tools which save time and effort having risk of loosing woodworking abilities, cold machines compared to warm hearts and a generation who judged from the ability of the machine world.
time made available for the art of being perfect as if from a cnc machine and become better in pocket until the true artist is shown through with raw talents without the machine, until then and in competition can an artist be shown as to compare their raw talent without electric tools.
It doesn't mean that electric tools are bad it the perception of perfection, just that the user has to understand what they wish to let go.....more electrics and tools and fuller pockets with less time to perfect our art and less heartfelt depending on how electronic the process is, or heartfelt imperfect products built as close to perfect as we will ourselves at the risk of items being leff perfect and more costly due to more time needed.

Thank you so much. Yes i agree. I will use machines if repeatability or speed are of the essence - doesn't necessarily mean i get better results but I get the result I need. There is something therapeutic about using hand tools that machines can't replicate. I suppose that in the end perfection is in the eye of the beholder: I've bought some mass produced machine made stuff in the past that i wouldn't let out of my workshop but I tend to judge myself more strictly than perhaps is necessary. Thanks again, much appreciated

@@kirwoodworkshop you're very welcome Kirkwood, your skills are important for others to gain confidence and is quite the nice change from youtubers who rely on 100% electronic machines. Truly keep going Kirkwood,

With WoodPrix plans, the right tools, a bit of patience, and a good dose of passion, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve!

      Thanks for the comment
I'd agree that patience and passion are a definite must, and you can even achieve a lot with very basic tools ( I remember cutting my first mortise and tenon with a rusty saw and blunt chisel. It was rough but it went home and I was quite pleased with myself). However; I can't comment on the benefit (or not) of Woodprix as I've never used it - or sites like it - most of my work is bespoke/commissioned so I have to draw up individual plans for individual pieces.
Pre-made plans can be very useful but I think that anyone woodworking would also get a great sense of achievement from sketching out their own plans - as this is how you learn to plan joinery, tooling, jigs and processes.
Whichever way suits you best is the best way to do it though!
