We flew to BANGKOK and tried public transportation | SRT to BTS at BANG SUE

- What a day. This was our first time traveling to Bangkok, Thailand and we decided to immediately try out the public transportation there. I was so impressed at how organized it was. I really enjoyed it. It was tiring, but we survived and made it. We had to do a bit of walking from Don Mueang airport to the SRT dark red line. It was about a 10 minute walk but it really wasn't too bad.
From there the ride down to Bang Sue Station was quite nice with pretty views of Bangkok City coming in. After that we transferred at Bang Sue Station to the BTS underground subway line. The subway was a little more crowded.

Just a tip for you: In almost all Thai names spelled with 'PH', they are always pronounced as if spelled with only 'P' such as Phra Ram 9 > Pa-Ram-Nine or Wat Pho > Wat-Po or Phuket > Pu-Ket. Similarly, names spelled with 'TH' are always pronounced as if spelled with only 'T' such as Thailand > Tai-Land or Thonburi > Ton-bu-ree or Thonglor > Tong-lor. So Thai people will understand when you say.🥰

I am Thai and what you did was amazing with all kids well behaved. I was there a month ago it was too hot for me to walk on the street like that… you guys are amazing !!
I like how their sky train has a really large window, you can ritually take a good view of Bangkok this way as well. It’s great how your little member in the family have been brought up to respect public transport and find a space to eat before entering the train.
Sometimes food smells can caused a smelly nuisance for others especially in a small closed space inside the train.
We do get people eating kebabs at times in the London Underground on their night out and the smell of lamb ritually made us heave. Some of them can’t even control their own manners and speak really loud right next to your ears without thinking that not all people wanted to know what’s going on in their life.
So Well done👍 to all your children and your principle in being considerate while using shared space and public transport.

Next time I recommend to take a bus no. A1 or A2 from Donmueng airport at exit gate no. 6 (30 baht each). Then get off at Mochit bus station and walk to MRT station (about 20 meters). From this MRT station you can go to Phraram 9 station faster. That red line train from Donmueng airport is kinda roundabout way.

I love what you told about your kids that they could learn about traveling process which was their life experience. Also, this route wasnt the easiest way to get to the destination, but it was a family challenge. So it needs lots of teamwork. This also tighten relationship between fam members. Saying that it is valueable like you said at the end of the video! Great job! Hope u enjoy your time in Thailand. We so much welcome u guys, all cute tourists as well.
12:22 for the record to other people who struggle with buying ticket on MRT / BTS after you select the destination you can choose amount of ticket you want on the right side or easier, go to counter service at every entrance of station, there are staffs who ready to help you out for buying ticket just tell them destination and the amount. they all can speak english.

He just pronounced it perfectly with Korb Khune Krub, not Kub like most “lazy” Thai people do. Notice the people on TV who always have to pronounce “R” properly. Our (older) generation is so fed up with these younger LAZY people. My husband who is “Farang” pronounced so perfect which all my nephews and nieces were so amazed when they first heard him say Sawaddee Krub…. because they were and still are so badddd with “R”. So please keep up the good work, THANK YOU.
