    Too many years as a pilot has left me with some hearing issues that come into play when using your method of finding my focal point. I used a decibel app on my phone and placed it near the site I was lasering. I could watch the decibel levels change as I adjusted the height. Worked like a charm. I’d like to use the twin red light lasers to assist focus but I haven’t figured out how to turn them on.

      Very clever! Nice problem solving! Check under the lens while looking up at it from below there's usually a little plastic toggle switch on the galvo head housing.

    I know this video is already a year old, and laser engraving has been out for several years now, but I just got my 1st laser platform, an OMTECH 30W split, and had no clue of the setup. I've watched a ton of your vids now and this video alone is already worth the Patreon sub. I am now a patron and will continue to follow your guidance. I am an FFL and I believe a lot of your videos, that I have yet to see, will point me to the right direction. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

    also?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      95% of what we cover in EZCAD2 is compatible with EZCAD3. In a few cases a button might have a different label or be in a different spot but the vast majority of the settings (converted of course) and techniques will be the same. For more information on your specific machine join the discord as there are many members with your exact source.
      You can also support the show by joining the patreon which includes instant access to my entire fiber laser library as well as a converter to convert the settings for your 60w unit. The converter would be quite useful when watching my videos to get you close to what I'm getting on screen. Let me know if you have any other questions - link to the discord and patreon are in the description of the video.

    Hi.. Loving the simplicity of your tutorial. Can i ask about the Max and Min PWM on my machine. I've been told it's an "F-Tech FO-30 150 X 150". There is a plate on it with the model number DRK30F
    Can you advise please? :)

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  ปีที่แล้ว

      It has less to do with your machine model number and more to do with your laser source model number. You need to find out if it's a Raycus, Max, or JPT. If you Google that model number you should be able to figure it out.

      JPT sources have a very specific look and the fakes are not convincing. If you send some photos in our discord server we can verify its genuine but if it has a sticker I honestly doubt it's a fake

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  ปีที่แล้ว

      One of the many downfalls of Ezcad is it's window sizing. You SHOULD be able to drag it out into the main work area to undock the window. If not you may need a bigger monitor (or a TV would work) to get the screen to expand enough to grab it. Super annoying. Highly recommend you look into upgrading to LightBurn, we have an entire free course on the subject. Much easier to use.

  • @anthonyboffice4007

    I have a brand new fiber and on my small test images or text only half is focused. Right half is darker and louder when marking. These are pretty small test prints so i'm not sure if its out of level inside somewhere, the workspace, or field warp adjustments. What should i check first? I marked a big test square on stainless and it looks square and oddly enough marked pretty even. But the smaller hatched images did not. I'm very confused

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  ปีที่แล้ว

      The first place I'd look with this issue is actually the galvo scan head. Get a level and check the scan head, then check the bed. They should match. They do NOT need to be level with the ground, just level with one another. If they are not you should be able to loosen the bolts on the scan head at the neck and adjust accordingly.

    Could the 160mm focal length lens with a 110x110 marking area that was pre-installed in my equipment be replaced with a lens that would increase my marking area to 150x150? Should I be looking for a lens with the same focal length? Or, does a different marking areas necessitate a change in the focal length?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Different marking areas necessitate changing the focal length, don't try to focus on the focal length when picking a lens. Just focus on the marking area all similar sized marking areas are going to have similar focal lengths so you don't even need to worry about it just focus on the marking area and call it a day.
      Definitely pick up a few different lenses they're super cheap and allow you to do much more than just having one lens and relying on that. I recommend the cloudray f-theta lenses for fiber lasers. You can view them on my online buying guide:
      www.lasereverything.net/buyingguide
      Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Do I need to do the Corefile calibration because I don't have any of the correction file loaded or there is some settings I can tweak? Thank you in advance.

    • @LaserEverything

      Yes exactly. This video came out before our corfile corrections video so we didn't show it as a solution at the time of recording but a corfile would go a long way in correcting this issue. Hi I changed my lens and I adjust the red point light as you explain in this video, so then if I mark a shape and then I light it, the red light perfectly fix the shape. However, when i don't light the shape, the pointer is not centered; in other words, if I would like to mark a circle around a point, i can't just use the red light pointer as the center of my cricle. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks and congrats for your videos, they're so helpful!!!

    • @LaserEverything

      F3 Param on the first page it says "Go to pos. after Mark", that's where the red dot returns too after it's completed all marking and framing.

      That's just the cost of air freight. You get your laser in a week instead of three months. If you're buying from them that's the only shipping option. With the way the ports are these days you don't want your machine on a boat.

    • @LaserEverything

      I do have a video on that, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/iAgj6T4eH80/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=LaserEverything
      PLEASE do not buy a 220 lens for your 20w you will hate it! The 20w doesn't deliver nearly enough power to mark anything at 220mm. I can hardly use my 220 lens on my 30w machine without issues. At 20w you want to stay between 50 and 150mm max. The video I linked explains it all in a little more detail.
      Of course I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have - just let me know :P And thanks for watching :D

  • @clintbonnett3449

    Thank you for such a great video. One problem I am having is I am setting up a 150x150 lens. Have all the distortion taken out and it makes nice straight lines. I made a 120x120 box while setting up everything just to make checking the straightness of the lines easier for me. Problem I have is that the box actually measures 122.5 on the x axis and 131.5 on the y axis. I know it has something to do with the scaling settings in the configuration. But every time I've tried to correct this things go south, can never get it to be a perfect square. Negate is NOT checked on either galvo. If I go into the scaling drop down menu and enter the desired marking and actual marking settings for galvo 1. Then do the same thing for galvo 2. The parameters that I enter in galvo 1 are overwritten by what I enter in galvo 2. What the hell am I doing wrong?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well the first thing I'd say is that you want to be making your scale adjustments FIRST and your warp adjustments second. Adjusting your scale after setting your warp adjustments is always going to mess with your warp. Get the scale as close as you can, then the warp, then scale, then warp again. You'll have a more accurate finished product.
      As far as the overwriting issues go it's really hard for me to tell without looking at it. Feel free to post a few screenshots or a short screen capture to the discord and I'd be happy to take a look for you. There's a link in the description and we can get that sorted. During the setup video, you mentioned selecting the Source under "Fiber" and "Serial". I believe you selected JPT. The lens should have either the lens size or approximate focal distance printed on it which we would be able to help you out with if you post a picture in the discord or Facebook group. For the laser wattage there isn't usually much you can do except open the case and inspect the laser source. Most sources typically have a sticker that lists the model number which we could then use to tell you what your laser power would be.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use lightburn exclusively, but unfortunately they do not currently have a utility to take the output, accept measurements, and properly scale and adjust the lens output (like you see with the corfile utility). so with lightburn, you have to test, and then guess the change you need to make, and test again, and repeat that process until you get the output you're happy with. If you're a perfectionist, you could spend hours doing each lens.

    Great video, I have a question. how to know my machine PWM?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is typically specific to the laser source itself inside the machine. Among each brand there can be similar models that have different frequency ranges, so you'll either need a spec sheet/hardware list or may need to open your side panel of the machine to confirm your laser source model. From there, you can use that info to validate your frequency by using the spec sheets supplied by the manufacturer of the source. We have a lot of them linked in our resources on our website to help make that easier. You can also ask the machine manufacturer you bought it from, but if they mix parts or didn't keep track of components, you may need to use the methods we mentioned previously to have an accurate set of values.
