The linkage from the handle to the latch probably fell off. If it has plastic clips they often break in the cold weather if someone is hard on the door - like slams it.
I believe these are the clips. Pop one in the hole, insert the linkage, rotate the clip to snap it to the linkage or arm of the linkage. Let me know if this helps if not, give me the year, make, model and I'll look it up :)
Showing how those clips are released was helpful, that's for sure. But you didn't show releasing them with the handle installed and the window supported upwards, and the interior panel off, and all that crap. Getting to those two clips with that bracket for the end of the window is a B if you know what I mean. So what's the secret to that poorly designed mess?
Thanks for showing how the clips are removed great job
Thanks - have a great weekend :)
The clip tip is divine. You can wiggle the latch past the window track to get it out. Be careful
I appreciate your time on the clip detail. Thanks
You're welcome - Have a good week :)
Clip detail excellent, saw another video where someone pulled inside handle open and held while they took out outside handle didn’t know hey
my window track is directly in front of where the linkage hooks up. total nightmare.
Dealing with this right now and it is the worst
What is the cause of the outside door handle not working

It's the door handle actuator clip I'm having a hell of a time behind non removable window runner
Yes... that's a tough spot to get to but don't give up - you'll find a way :)
how do you connect the linkage to the bottom lock?

Here's a unique way to remove and replace the handle too - may be just what you are looking for - th-cam.com/video/SLuXUtNNys8/w-d-xo.html
