Yep" its gunna be a pain, truck sitting in a field no help, think I'll drag my Knuckles against the concrete first to get the blood flowing, I just don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything unless I bleed a little bit.
This truck was all manual and the focus was on the hinges and lifting the door itself. For the wires on a power model you would need to remove the door panel, disconnect everything, and feed out the grommet facing the door jam.
Good idea with the rafters! I think I'll use my engine hoist because my garage doesn't have rafters visible. Thanks for the idea, tho. I was thinking of jacking it from the bottom and doing something sketchy with zip ties before lol edit: it would have been good to show how to take the electrical connections off first
@@better_than_nothing I found out it's actually easy. Just take the rubber boot thing and yoink on it until you're getting the wiring up and out of the inside of the car. Pull it out of there until the connections are free and then undo them. Not bad, just I didn't know that's how it's done.
Was my first time removing a door so I used this video for my 89 GMC 1500 yesterday-appreciate it! Thanks

Great Video!! I like seeing more realistic approaches to working on these.
Very good video, helped me to get 2 doors for my 91 Sierra from a Junkyard and install them myself

What About The Wires That Goes Through The Door

If you look closely, you'll notice that his doors are manual locks and manual windows. He had no electrical connections.

I ended up using an engine hoist and some rope to lift the door off and on.
Works for me. Thanks for the video.
Do you still have the doors...
great video thanks a bunch
Wouldn't it be a bit easier to drive the pins out with the door closed?? You had full access with the fender off.. 🤔 you knew that right?
Yeap, but many may not want to remove a fender to get at them :-)
Hey man I need that door panel😂
Dont we all.. haha
