Good find! I have a 64--110 from original owner , Runs and Mows just like it did new. I retired and sold off all my collection but the 64 and a 61 Cub Cadet.

Scuffs on the fuel tank is because the fuel tank needs to be adjusted, the hood must be hitting it. BTW, the "Variable Speed" decal was only on the 1966 and 1967 round fender 110s and 112s. A 1965 wouldn't have that decal on the dash. Other than that nice restore. That muffler, as you mentioned, isn't original, but that's the muffler you would get from a John Deere dealer as it's the replacement muffler. HAPCO probably sells the correct "repop" muffler.

You are correct. I already moved the tank. It needed a good cleaning and a new sediment bowl. I find it weird that I’ve owned probably 2 dozen round fenders over the years and i have yet to see the “original muffler” that hapco repops. Every original paint tractor I’ve ever owned has had what i call the coffee can muffler. The replacements I’ve run into are the salt shaker mufflers. Not saying it isn’t true but I’ve never seen one. Maybe they were so cheaply made they didn’t last very long. Good catch on the dash decal. I didn’t even notice. Lol
