I have one right now, purchased by my father in 1999 and still working perfectly in present…all is original, engine, interior, etc and everything is still workin now😊 I’m gonna make retro car this year,it was made in 93’…😊Very good cars 🚘
The mk2 was an alright car but I like the mk1's front better, I also liked that style of front when it was used on the mk5 escort and Grenada Scorpio (not the bigeye version). It all boils down to opinion I guess.
The Ford Mondeo was sold her in the U.S. as the Ford Contour and the Mercury Mystique and later on as the Mercury Cougar. It only came as a 4 door sedan and the 2 door coupe which was the Mercury Cougar.
It's unusual how you didn't get the 5 door liftback and the 5 door estate versions as well. The interior of the mk1 Mondeo looks identical to the mk1 Ford Contour really from what I saw on Google Images. I'm from the UK by the way and my parents had a mk1 Mondeo estate in dark blue when I was about 6 I think I was then in late 2000 I believe this was. I've always thought it was a very classy and advanced car for its release year, kind of like a car NASA would design.
There's a 94 Mondy local to me. In very nice nick - no rust anyway on passing. It steams up on sunny days so it presumably leaks like a sieve when it rains. Very dated looking though, although I think the Mk2 facelifted one dated worse. Rare to see one (Mk1 or 2) nowadays
I driving this Mondeo for 10 years and i love it. And will drive 2 years more i hope, because it started to rust... Despite being so old, this car looks very good not only outside, but also inside. Tried MK2 also, it felt more stable than mk1, maybe because of r15 wheels and other things. Also what i don't like about mine Mondeo is fuel consumtion 12l/100km in city with 1.8l 85kw engine. There is an option to put Gas system, but it cost like 200 euro, while car itself worth 300 euro. Don't know if it's worth to invest.
The start of Ford's comeback, followed by New Edge styling on Ka and then the amazing Focus. Vauxhall went into the exact opposite direction with Vectra in 1995.
I bought a 1994 M plate in 2006 from my former brother in law for £200, spent £350 putting it through the MOT, had it for 7 weeks until it was written off in a accident thanks to a boy racer who pulled out in front of me from a side street in torrential rain, another car went into the back of me damaging the rear axle and fuel tank
I 'm going to buy a car.It will my first car.Yet I am not good at driving. Which one is better for me?>>>Ford Mondeo mk1 1.6 , ww polo 98 classic 1.6, fiat palio 1.6
I love the first Mondeos - Pure elegance.
I also love the roads of the 1990s - pure smoothness, not a pothole to be seen.

Christ I miss the 90s!!!
Still the best Mondeo made
Best looking....performance, not so much...
Callum Pearce Yeah, the mk2 has good performance, even though mk1 ha great performance but i really think the mk2 has an improvment including mk3 :/

The suspension on these old mondeos were actually very comfortable.
Mine still drives very well and it is older than me (1.8 85kW, 1993 saloon).
The Ford Mondeo is the Best car
Adaptive damping in a 93 mondeo!? Just wow
I had an M reg 2.5 V6.Smooth and good looking, just like its owner.
I have a facelift mondeo. Mk2 i love it. It keeps on driving no problems

That advert at the end is magnificent!

13:22 a pen holder! 😂 I've just put a deposit down on a Mk5 Mondeo, where's my pen holder? I want my money back!

So true!
True but they are going same way as Vauxhall now.
Thanks to Richard Parry Jones!
Miss my dads 95 mondeo great car
I used have a Mondeo 2.0Si saloon mk2 in Panther Black.
The son of the ford Sierra and the first generation mondeo was my favorite
I had a 1994 Mondeo estate. It was a rusty wreck already in 2004.
You didn't read the manual that came with the car then did you.
And i got a 96 spotless 🤗
@@warwickstingray waxoil it weekly?
I don't recall ever seeing this AMERICAN car here in AMERICA.
Oh wait, I did and it was called the Contour.
@@MichaelOKeefe2009 Exactly. Contour/Mistique/Cougar. World car, with different design details for the american market.
How the hell jackie stewart won three world titles with no eyes is beyond me.
Does anyone know the name of the music that starts at 0:59?
has anybody seen the jim clark vversion with the corsair?
The sweet spot was the 1.8 Ghia with the optional 15's. The 2.0 was geared like a dick

Muhammet Tan fuck off Mohammed or whatever your name is! You would be a menace on the roads
I associate the Mondeo with something a council estate person would drive!👌
Delboy Trotter then you’re a fucking snob! I lived on a council estate in 1993 and my mum had one of these brand new. So what’s your point?
Drive through a council estate you will see more BMWs and Audis than ford's these days

Still prefer the ford sierra! The mondeo is just not nice looking with a bland shape
The Primera was a far better car...
