Love these. I tweaked my right side shoulder in my sleep and nothing worked, not even M & M (Massage and Motrin) and it was affecting all my other workouts. I wanted to change up the routine. This is one of those exercises that I knew about but have not done for a while. I dropped the ego and did as John said, 10lbs 8 reps at the end of the shoulder workout. My shoulder feels great now. Hit an area that gets slightly overlooked with the larger movements. Definitely will not forget these again!

I'm 250lbs and been lifting for some years. People in the gym were looking at me like I was a fool as I dropsetted. I went down to the 1lb grandma weights and was making more noise than Ronnie Coleman.

I do these with 5 pound dumbbells. I like light weights better for my shoulders because one of them pops out of the socket quite easy and I’m worried about damaging it more and my other shoulder as well if I do anymore than that . 5 pounds and high reps is enough for me.
I kinda have the same problem, my left should feels weaker and less stable, plus it hurts sometimes, any recommendations?

I’ve literally been doing this workout for over 20 yrs. I owe a lot of my shoulder developent to this exact workout. If you use a 10lb plate your shoulders will grow like weeds.
But how can you do it with a plate?

I had a guy show me this 10 years ago at a Planet Fitness in Midland, TX, specific I know, but it seriously changed the way I trained shoulders from then on.
