I added farmers walks over 6 weeks ago and they work,traps,delts,forarms etc amazing for me..definitely getting stronger doing them just 2 times per week..
Heck yeah Wesley! Kelso shrugs really brought my traps up. Dumbbells lying on incline bench and using MAG grip on a low cable. I'm old, 46, so I do 6 sets a week 13-20 reps 2-3 second negatives.

I love to do my shrugs seated on a bench, head pointed down. It can be a little weird on your neck sometimes, but it works wonders to target the whole traps

I never ever trained traps separately. 1. They already do a lot of work in a normal back workout as it's shown in the video 2. If the traps are bigger than the side delts, it destroys the whole frame. My personal opinion.
Wes, please, please, please grow your legs to match your upper body!! I know the look is perfect for a golden era but to win the Olympia you must have the legs. By the way that look of you is the one I look up to.
No the function of upright rows think of what your elbows doing now compare that to a lateral raise what's your elbows doing same exact thing so upright rows work the lateral head of your deltoids except your hands are positioned close to your pecs or sternum area so in other words it's a very ineffective exercise for traps your traps have one function that's moving straight up and down that's it shrugging shrugging and shrugging if you want to work the center portion of your lats that's a different story but that's not the portion that we're talking about here
dissapointed ur doing regular shrugs and not a variation with the bench for more rom. A rrplacement for the shrugs can also just be y raises which brings way more hypertrophy
I've tried all these fucking excercise a long back, but my traps still suck. So I have learnt that Traps are genetic and god's gift, if you got them then good luck, if you don't got them, then tough luck, focus on other body parts, because your traps ain't gonna grow whatever you fucking do. 👍👍👍👍
@@boostinggtirtime My brother I have tried behind the back barbell shrugs also, nothing works for me, because traps are not my strong forte. I have accepted it and I will regret it till the day I die. But thanks for the suggestion.
@@disturbed911 Yes brother, I have a Trap bar in my gym and I have done the Farmers Carry multiple hundred times, my traps still refuse to grow, so I have given up and I have made my peace that I will never have massive traps. Period

I like to stand in front of the seated preacher curl machine with the weight stack and do shrugs. The angle of the bars helps you really feel it.

I like Dorian Yates style of shrugs. Lean forward slightly a bend in the knees and you’ll get a similar contraction….. all traps activated!

try farmers carry
Do behind back standing bar bell shugs. 2 working sets. Then do one working set with a wider grip. Front barbell shugs are not rated comparatively.
