Ban's findings since recording this (in late October): The Face Buttons and D-pad are surprisingly usable, and I actually like them a bit. According to other users in the community, it's essentially an RGB30 Clone, so ArkOS and Rocknix would work fine. I haven't fixed the shoulder buttons yet (but filing away at the opening would fix the issue). The screen has fallen out once more in an attempt to kill my tiger electronics Sonic handheld, but since adding adhesive again, no issues.
My first, and likely only, Game Console product was the R36S. It felt great and had an amazing screen. I genuinely liked the little thing; but, it had garbage quality control too. The Volume Up button was dead out of the box. I did all of the recommended things like flashing AeolusUX onto a name brand TF card; sadly, that didn't stop it from randomly freezing up and never turning back on one day. People, not me - those other people, give Anbernic grief for making so many XX iterations. I disagree with that. I like the fact that you can get so many different flavors of affordable retro handheld from Anbernic. For almost the same price as this [expletive deleted] you can get a CubeXX from a real brand that actually attempts quality control. Even they, like with the 40V's screens falling out, sometimes get it wrong. At least they try though. Do you think Anbernic would've allowed multiple devices to leave their warehouse with rigidly fixed shoulder buttons? Sorry for the rant. As always I love when we get a new Ban Unboxing. His Nuts might be the biggest flop of the year, but, his new segment is one of the year's biggest successes.
They need to get the QC department in order cause I have the exact same device same color and everything and I have had no issues all my buttons work the screens in place in fact it’s probably become my favorite one to one3566 device
I see the appeal of a 1:1 aspect screen but every time each device the bezels are always show a rectangle instead of even on each side. I would be more inclined to buy one of these screens if it wasn't uneven.
Modern charge bricks are fine. They have a 5v mode. The device, even trash ones, will select that mode. Unless it can handle the higher modes. Charge bricks will not just select its highest mode on their own. They are told what to do by the device.
I should have mentioned it at the time, but you're absolutely right. This kind of thing happens to every brand. For me personally, it was usually just one issue at a time and not, "this device has multiple problems going for it". After using the R46S some more (sans shoulders) I do like the face only experience though.
This one is trash 😂 I have the ZPG Unicorn it's the best out the lot. Sure the RG Cube has a slightly more powerful CPU but for what it can do compared to the ZPG it's overpriced. Rather add a lil more money on top get a Retroid Pocket 5 or the Retroid Mini instead of the Cube. That leaves the RG Cube XX which is cute & a good handheld. All the other 1:1 handheld are not worth it. See how i intricately broke it down. Best to try for yourselves, keeping price in mind & what it can do/play for its price. Absolutely love my ZPG & I only paid £65. Bargain!
Un-fun fact. I opened the device afterwards, and I couldn't find anything off about it. Really just looked like something you'd find from Powkiddy. The most interesting part were the flying shoulder buttons!
just get a r36s or a 35xx-H i have both and they work out the box even better when you go off the stock HW and both are under 50$ i'm 40 and my 10 year old self would be crazy over this i have 10000 of roms in my hand all my favorite ones...
I mean, if you'd like me to send you the receipt of me buying the R46S I'd be happy to. A majority of the handhelds I show on RH are purchased by me still, so I have no reason to make something look good or bad. I may be a clutz, but I'm not that bad.

I can't believe "Game Console" would be destroying their reputation like this!
Who has the contact info to Generic? I want to make a complaint.
😂😂🤣🤣
I'd go for the CubeXX, looks WAY more comfy and reliable (great community also)
It has a flip out screen, lol!😅
Dude! I think these devices are in a new category :D DIY Quallity Check. As in the customer does the QA after he buys the product and fixes himself 🤣

"They passed A quality control". You crack me up Ban. 😆😆

LMAO the screen. Are you sure thats not a intentional feature? Users can easily replace the screen whenever they want to in seconds.
😂😂😂
Damn. What a dumpster fire.
🤣🔥
Something's definitely wrong on that boyhom factory's qc, I know it's from boyhom because of the orange 😫
"Oh no"

That’s a good piece of advice there! Thx
Great i ordered 5 all 5 people who are gifted these are very lucky.
I bought a miyoo mini plus. The screen fell out. The replacements screen fell out. The 3rd replacements screen fell out. Stuff happens with any brand!

@ban6756 that's fair.
Just wanna say that R36S also have screens that pops out, T-7000 to the rescue.

Sad that ZPG have those nipple shaped dpad and suaqre screen D:
It would've interesting to open it up and see what other surprises await inside.

Does it feel as cheap as it looks?

In a age when everything is sponsored xant really believe what happened with the device is bot your fault
Yeah Ban, you absolute shill! I can't believe you took big GKD money to make the Unicorn look great!

Ban Shands!
Highly disappointing from these guys! Had had hopes I could collect all of these as well lol
