Love this sort of “vacation” When I was twelve my dad had been laid off, our air conditioner was broken…we lived in Los Angeles …it was hot. We spent the afternoons in our backyard eating popsicles and reading books from the library. One of my favorite summers ever! We as a family spent our time together outside in the back yard…oh yeah and few sprinkler runs too. ❤
That pizza supper on the porch totally had a 1930-40's down south vibe, just in color.😂 Loved it!

Greetings from the middle of Nebraska! You guys are to be commended for taking your children on a trip where you created so many memories. No doubt it is a ton of work. Megan when you were sharing your lemonade and your hair was out a bit and your bandana on, you looked just like a sweet homemaker from the 1930's....right out of Good Housekeeping magazine. A Norman Rockwell family. The campground looks so fun especially the water slide area. I totally get how you feel around water parks and water. As a grandmother of 7, it does create anxiety when the littles are scattered. And when Yvonnie wanted to ride her bike away from the cabin, I felt anxiety then!! I don't want kids out of my sight. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. You and Josh make a wonderful team!! God Bless!!

This video was so much fun to watch. We were there the same weekend, but Im terrible at taking the time to get photos and videos. Getting to watch your video is next best thing to having our own. 😂 it was fun getting to meet your lovely family while we were there.
How frustrating they made you switch after giving you the wrong keys. 🤦♀️ they gave us a camp site and had us move further from the rising water after we'd already set up camp. It just wasn't their weekend. 😆

Yes! It just takes a little planning and forethought, but the little special touches are how I like to show love to myself and my kids!
I LOVE reading church and Junior League cookbooks just like novels for ideas. I keep small post-it notes close while I'm reading to mark wonderful ideas found.❤❤❤❤❤

This is such a fun video. We grew up every summer visiting relatives in Watsontown. And often as a treat we’d go to Milton for the ice cream🍦That cool mountain air at night catching lightening bug’s. So glad your family enjoyed your vacation time😊🪵🌿

I live just north of Milton and grew up just west of Lewisburg.

I'm so pleased you managed to have a few days away with the kids and all have a lovely little time, my daughter was very poorly from 3 until 12 but she grew out if it as the drs said she may 🙏 so I really feel your anxiety although trying to continue as normal. Your little chap will be ok and kids are so resilient and just bed into a new way of doing things straight away,it's us the parents who fret so much, anyway I'm really pleased you all managed to get some you time and celebrate Josh's birthday and not forgetting the posh golf cart 😂.
You hair looked absolutely beautiful Megan with it tied back and just a few bits out at the back and wearing a bandana in your hair tied in a bow, it really suited you and you should do it more often.

What a terrific voice Josh has! I know you've said he often leads the singing at church but he is a really good soloist. Your vacation will no doubt be remembered by the bigger kids as a highlight and you will be pretty glad to be home in your own bed with happy memories.

We have a Jellystone campground here in South Dakota, about 5 hours from us. But not near as many fun things that this one has!

I want to cry. I miss Lewisburg. I have family that live in Lewisburg and Milton. I haven't been there since we moved in 2005. Hopefully if all goes well my one daughter and I will be going back there next summer ❤.
I sympathize with you ❤ I grew up and lived in the Mifflinburg/ Lewisburg ( Cowan)area for 40+ years before moving to the Midwest, still have lots of family there so we get to visit once or twice a year .

Reading cookbooks is my favorite thing to read! I love that Preserving by the pint cookbook. Her cookbooks are all awesome if you want to do more cookbook reading at home🙂 I am with you about getting sleep on vacation. Crabbiness just ruins a vacation and so does a tired mom. That is funny! We live close to Milton and were camping in Lancaster county that same week! We were supposed to leave that Friday but after looking at the weather forecast we stayed an extra day.

Of all the things i could comment on(( our trip to Rome 1980..best ever lasagne in a messy cafe that spoke no english after hosting a huge private party before we came in..then we wanted the " tourist menu" ( cheaper than a la cart)..chef yelled at the waiter for not up selling!!!!!!!))

I am older than the internet. We went outside to play. Maybe help Noni or mom bake, but not usually. Lol. It's funny to say I am older than the internet. We always read cookbooks. Magazines in paper form was how we learned about other things. And we bought cookbooks from the different Church picnics or received them as a gift from family who lived away. Life was super different with zero internet.
So happy you guys got to get away. I totally lived this post. It looks like you all had a great time. Yesterday my sister and I went to the Lancaster area. Purchased a bunch of fresh veggies and I plan to freeze. Also going to can tomatoes. Since I retired I and getting back into home preservation. And totally enjoying it. That peach lemon ade looked so yummy. ❤

Love your videos Megan! My husband and I taught in the Milton school district for over twenty years. We lived in both Milton and Lewisburg. I was fortunate enough to go to college at Bucknell too. We currently live in Mount Carmel which is right near Knoebels Amusement Park. They also have cabins and cottages that you can rent. I am sure that you are familiar with Knoebels. A great family friendly park with no admission, rides for all ages, and award winning food! Their pool is also awesome, has slides, and an awesome splash pool for younger kids! My husband is the public librarian in Elysburg and the Knoebel family has been a great support of the library!

In the Delgado coffee the coffee makes a huge difference. I won’t make it without tasters choice instant coffee. It’s more expensive but it’s definitely worth it 😊

We visited a Yogi Bear resort in Virginia this summer ( a few weeks ago - we also had to postpone our summer fun because of my daughter breaking her wrist at the beginning of the summer) The park you guys went to has so much to do! Ours had a lazy river, water slides, jump pad, and playground. They did have some kid activities scheduled too. It looked like yours had more to offer though! Looked like a great time :) Sorry you had to do all that moving around, but that's cool you made the best of the situation. Enjoy the last bit of summer! I can't believe its almost over, but fall is exciting too so we can look forward to all that has to offer!
