- Is Dhaka safe for solo travel? As a street photographer, I've spent a lot of time exploring the streets of this bustling city. So I thought I would share my perspective and some general travel tips for Bangladesh.

Love from Bangladesh .
BangladeshI are most hospitable people in South Asia 🌏🇧🇩🇧🇩
You speak good Bangla btw, It’s actually sound so cute😂
your videography and the way you showed Dhaka is amazing, thanks for your optimistic view on this new Bangladesh.. waiting to see more positive videos... love from Canada... Have a good one!
Bangladesh might not be the best place for your honeymoon. But if you like adventure and drama, then Bangladesh is definitely the place for you! THIS COUNTRY IS DIVERSE yet weird at the same time. One Tip: Try to visit countryside and also Sylhet, Chittagong, Chandpur. These cities are very different than each other and you will get an idea of how people of different income bracket lives in this country! And ask the locals for suggestions. Try to interact with younger people cz they will most likely speak some english.
Good advice bro 😊❤️
Bangladesh isn't for beginners 🗣🔥🔥

Thank you for your positive and good notes
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for visiting mate
Thank you!
It's sad this has only 16K views. You deserve way more.
As an Irish - Bengali, and I come across as more Irish, it can be very overwhelming even for me when I am there. At least outside of the DOHS area (which is great) we have property. But outside of such areas, Gulshan, etc, just getting outside of Dhaka is always a relief lol.
Hey thanks very much! As a fairly small channel, I'm actually pretty happy and surprised by how many people viewed it 🙂 I must have underestimated the interest of Bangladeshi viewers, compared to my predicted audience (other outsiders planning to travel). Yeah I can imagine! There's a bit of a culture shock or adjustment period each time I've been. I adjust to most aspects quickly, but I think other facets are more difficult (like the noise and air pollution). I love the craziness of Dhaka, but getting out is definitely is a nice break 😁
Thank you sir... Always welcome here in Bangladesh.
Thank you!
I have spent my whole life in Dhaka, I have visited India maybe like 50 times, but the only 2 places where I was about to get duped were Paris and Athens..... so it's kinda racist of the world when "is Paris safe for solo travel" videos are not made but "is Dhaka safe" is a concern
Hey I see what you mean, and appreciate the feedback. I actually wanted to help oppose this stigma (and funny enough, I've heard a lot about Paris being unsafe) Perhaps another title would be better for the video? I'm open to suggestions.
@@hashemmcadam you can give a title like " My experiences of Dhaka as a solo traveler." keep the original one if you must. As a Bangladeshi I don't mind any. After all No one can force anyone to change the presumption of Bangladesh.
@@risvymahi3118good suggestion, I was actually thinking something along those lines 🙂 Yeah you're right! As they will about any place really.
Awesome!
Nice video Hashem.

hey bro welcome to bangladesh and come to dhaka uttara i want to meet you
Thanks bro! I hope to come back again
@@hashemmcadam ow am exited and wating for you love you luke bro. Hope youre come again. And meet with me
You better visit Chittagong for nature and adventure, Dhaka isn’t for peaceful relaxation
I've heard great things about Chittagong!
Great video, Hashem - as always! :)
I was not aware that the Luke.D incident got as much airtime locally as it did. I wonder why it invoked so much attention?
As disappointing as that was, I think you're right in highlighting that its not a unique aspect of traveling in places as textured as Dhaka. Provided you can keep your wits about you, travel in Dhaka (with a camera) is oh so rewarding. Especially with a 28mm!
I'm not sure! I think because people there are so hospitable and don't want to be misrepresented. Agreed, that's the way to go 😁
That cng driver charging 500 tk was diabolical
Try to visit sylhet once
Bangladesh ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩

bangladesh is safe as long as you don't get too much involved with politics .

welcome to bangladesh sir,
Dude your Bengali is pretty good
So I’m not from Dhaka I’m from a part of Chittagong that’s CHT -Chittagong hill tracts pretty beautiful place to visits
So whenever I travel to Dhaka is full of chaos the city vibe is good in certain places like old Dhaka for historical places and foods but overall the traffic jam and everything feels really bad compare to Chittagong city
I’m blessed to Born in Chittagong
Chittagong is the best division you can say it have mountains lakes ,longest uninterrupted beach in the world ,way more cleaner city and more greener have places to hangout in the main city you can go to patenga sea beach which only takes 30 minutes there is roofless govt bus service for tourist from the city to beach area you can take that
And overall it’s a different vibe chittagonian people uses multiple different languages
Like I’m my region cht we have many ethnics groups like chakma, marma, tripura, rakhaine, bom, lushai etc etc they have different languages cultures cloths and foods they looks different and many more
We have kaptai lake you must check that place also sajek valley
We have 3 district 1.Rangamati 2.khagrachori 3.Bandarban
All the ethnic group majority buddhist people lives here
Rangamati have mountains and kaptai lake
Khagrachori have plain lands where the city is located also have beautiful landscapes and mountain where from you can watch the city the best city view you can get from Alutila view point
Pretty cool place with cool structures in Greek style
And in Bandarban ban you have the beautiful mountain scenarios beautyful roads and dim pahar -highest road in Bangladesh
Thank you! It sounds great, I hope to visit some time (and go for a surf too 😁)
Please also consider visiting outside of Dhaka especially Chittagong and Sylhet. There is more to Bangladesh than just Dhaka. Dhaka is the capital city, like many other capital cities in Asia it is overcrowded. In terms of safety try to go out after 8 to 9am in the morning and try to be back at a safe place within 8 to 9pm at night. There are specific areas where the possibility of occurring crime is higher than other area, try your best to avoid them. Hope you will enjoy your time in Bangladesh. Good luck.
For sure! I've visited some parts as far up as Sreemangal, but many others I'd like to see yet. 🙂 Thank you
Hey, thanks for your visit in Bangladesh 🇧🇩 ❤
I suggest try to be in crowded places’s and avoid narrow alleyway’s in let night. Like 11/12 at night.
Your new subs From 🇧🇩
Bro come to Gazipur
Welcome to Bangladesh 🇧🇩

brother i am a bangladeshi who has travelled around the world.
People come to dhaka and say very negative stuff about Bangladesh, please visit Sreemangal in Sylhet, and visit Rajshahi and Chittagong
I've been to Sreemangal, it was great! Looking forward to visiting more areas.
Love From Moulvibazar 🫡🫡🫡🇧🇩🐅❤🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing this perspective … I really hope you also visit our villages as well. They are what makes our culture and the true essence of Bangladesh can only be experienced in the villages
I have visited some villages like Munshiganj in the past, it was great!
@@hashemmcadam thats great ..

Travel Dhaka less and other popular districts more. For safety: always listen your sixth sense and look around. Try to research a little of any place that you like to visit. People are mostly nice and you will get help in any situation hopefully.
I am from Bangladesh and Dhaka (or any other place in Bangladesh) isn’t the safest place for solo travel. It’s better to hire a guide and talk to the younger generations because they will speak English, the university students are the most reliable option, they’ll try to help you as they are educated, their behaviour is more moral and ethical. People here get over excited when they see a foreigner. They will try to scam you (like what happened with Luke) and absurdly overcharge you for even the smallest products. It’s not the best place for tourism, but if you want a different wild experience maybe you should visit.
Brother where are your From?
@@blackpinkff Australia 🙂
I am a Bangladeshi and have been watching Luke's videos for a long time even before he travelled here. It was really disappointing to see some of our people's reaction to that incident. A lot of people were taking the beggar's side saying that Luke did all that for attention and what not. When in reality that beggar was clearly a scammer.
But a lot of people were fooled by his physical appearance such as him being an old man with white beard, wearing the traditional dress called panjabi and a white cap. Typically this type of outfit is seen as religious in our country, so many people thought that was just a poor innocent man asking for some financial help. But that was not the case in Luke's incident. And Luke handled the situation quite well as well, he stood firm and didn't cause a scene. It wasn't his fault that the police later arrested the beggar, he just highlighted a real incident that happened and can happen with any other traveller.
Anyway, thanks for travelling to my country, and showcasing the good things that it has to offer.
Interesting! Yeah I would think if he noticed Luke was filming, he would have not followed him as much. Oh well, a minor incident at the end of the day. Thanks for the encouragement!
not safe for a women at all, i will tell ya that much.
dhaka is depressing . come to rajshahi . it's better
Come to Chittagong u will see the real beauty trust me🥰

Thanks for taking the time out of your day! 😁

Great
Beggar is around the globe even london, New York, Paris, munic, Tokyo etc.
Even if you go to Paris lots of crawly.
This young gay out of Bangladeshi mentality , he did not inform how is Bangladeshi people hospitality and honesty, most of Bangladeshi very innocent & very helpful.
If you go to Sydney you can find lots of bagger asking money for drugs, food.
In london Metro lots of drug addicts sleeping in the underground.
Young people out world information.
