It's crazy how this dude was playing professional smash bros when some in the smash community were still in diapers. You're never too old to do what you love. Long live Isai the goat
I think what I love most about Isai is that he genuinely just loves all of Smash 64. Every character, every stage, the minimal single player, the game means so much to him.
Isai is a real champion. Not to hate on the melee greats like Mango and others but sometimes even they can come off dramatic. It’s like they’re rock stars with a brand they built, selling swag and blinged out on their fancy stream set ups. They have personalities they built to be entertaining and appealing. Isai just shows up with his metal folding chair and stomps you with the whole cast. He doesn’t make excuses or go online and cry. He just does his best and shakes your hand. He truly is a humble master.
His celebration to the crowd after 6-0ing kurabba in grands was so funny to me. He like motioned and lifts his hand to the right, hand on hip, then motions left. For all of his legendary play I believe he’s still a jokester at heart
Forget all the stories and memes about this guy and just watch him play. There is nothing mythical about Isai's reputation. It's all right there in front of you. He is on another level.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate he had become a meme like he was some overrated old timer. I think this is good indication if he still played melee he would be stomping fools.
I mean it doesn't matter, he plays SSB cause he enjoys it more, and I support him in that. The game is sick, it's not worse than Melee, it's just different.@@itsbmeGaming
isai still holds up quite well for his time actually, going from dominating break the targets and board the platforms back in the early 2000's and is still at the top level today, but damn, isai's dedecation to the game is undisputed, although he's old, inside the game stay inside in him for the years to come, he's the champ we all needed!! much love isai, never stop playing ssb64!
beautiful stuff, jason. very happy to see you still love the game as much as i do. if i was to put together a list of your contributions to the community i would need a scroll as big as santa's. ty
I honestly get emotional watching this and thinking about it all. Him winning this year felt like the closing of a book for some of us older guys. I know he's not done or anything, but it still just feels like that storybook ending we've all been waiting for
@@Thatsadarkhorse do you think the turnout for 64 will still be this great going forward? I want in on the fun, and I’d be bummed if some of the OG players see this as a sort of symbolic ending to something that I’m just ready to get started in lol. Also epic video
I don't think most of us are going anywhere. A lot of us are getting older and busier with adult life but we still find time to play even if it's just once a year
@@mrmarbles444 yea i dont think people will actually stop playing. It just feels like we all let out a breath we didn't know we were holding in. Finally feel content
@@hadesthegod9181 this game isn't going anywhere. More and more people are picking up netplay, smaller console events are popping back up, ssc numbers are up from last year. No worries
Hes the reason I learned how to L cancel, I watched him play link and wondered how did he not have end lag on his down air's; He got me into professional smash, and I rooted for him always. This year was a great year, im so happy for him.
It’s fitting that Isai left Melee and exclusively plays 64. He’s one of the most veteran smash players left, and he also so happens to dominate the game that started it all. The entire situation is like looking 20+ years in the past for us old folk. Those were the good days. Regardless, it would be fun if he still played Melee. I understand why he doesn’t, though. 64 is a much more fun vibe than the cutthroat nature of Melee’s scene.
In the time before youtube, my friends and I would play melee casually until we heard about Isai. He is the one who inspired us to start to play competitively and discover the beautiful world of competitive smash.
To me Isai is the goat of smash of all time. He’s literally an anime character that is the most powerful of all time but does not use this power for the sake of other people. He only unleashes when he needs to which is very rarely

its so funny how he circles the whole character select screen
his opponent doesnt know who he's going to pick
even Isai doesn't

Of any Smash game. It's crazy how much better he is than everyone else too. He's amazing with every character!
This is going to be Isai VS Kurabba SmashCon Grand Finals, in the year 2023
This is like the best moment in my life

"Pivot down tilt" has been permanently engraved in my mind.
Isai has always been my inspiration to play competitve 64. So happy to see him win the biggest event of the year. Long live 64

That moment with the Luigi pivot down tilts on the platform still cracks me up

It's always great to see Isai, I know he might not compete in Melee tournaments anymore, but like him, 64 is my favorite competitive Smash
Thanks for inspiring us older smashers, Isai. Never stopping

So many incredible, and electrifying players across Smash-dom, but, none I’d rather watch more than Isai.
The music background is pretty inspirational. With this music you can be whatever you want to be.
John Murphy is pretty great
No way he combod falcons upb thingy into his own egg
so glad to see this guy succeed after all this time. goats come in many forms.
The King
I don’t even follow 64 that closely but this video still got me right in the feels. So happy for Isai.
Can't help but like him
I only wish always the best for this man, long live Isai and smash community!
When I saw Isai at SuperSmashCon this year I was like dude is that Isai! Such a legend!
Imagine how excited he was to see the legend Shane
@@Thatsadarkhorse lmao you mean Darkhorse!!! The man the myth the legend!
Isai is like the michael jordan of smash community, i think he doesn't even know the big influence he has.
ngl Isai being number 1 current feels like a movie. I dont think there is any denying that Isai is the 64 GOAT tbh.
This video is too beautiful.
