you here after watching isai win smashcon 2023?
Oh yuh
29:34 the best Rest punish I've ever seen lol
23:02 link and samus play catch
Damn, Kurabba's Ness is like something out of a TAS nightmare... THAT is the potential that I'd dreamed the DJC characters could have for a decade or so after watching Jpleal's "Perfect Ness" and "Perfect Yoshi" videos.. so long as someone were talented enough: crushing pressure in neutral and a touch of death like nothing else in 64. Makes sense that a Yoshi main would be the one to really refine the technique to its pinnacle.
Props to both of them, though! Love seeing 12 char battle - imo it is the true test of mastery of this game, and as shocked as I am to see Isai lose one of these, he put up a hell of a fight.
Kurabba’s ness was filthy lol
Let us not forget. Ness was in the same Tier as Pikachu and Kirby on the first SSB 64 Tier List ever made. :)
Here Kurabba reminds us why :)
man I said this to my FGC friends. Smash 64 is the closest to and actual fighting game smash has ever gotten. Its fucking wild to me
I tend to agree with that
While I disagree. I'd love to hear why you think that
41:18 An ACTUAL "frame trap" with that d-air > jab lol
@@Stefinater thats just one example of many. there are frame traps in this game.
@@nathanl8769 im so glad you asked.
So i come from a more FGC oriented background. While i do play melee as well, i mostly play 3S, MvC1 XMCOTA etc. I could tell from just looking that 64 is different from other smash games. It is the ground work for the future entries in the series. but something about how it is played and observed is something so vastly different from the other games.
in 64, it feels like the players are generally about to play good footsies. Every hitbox and position on screen is made with caution and purpose. It feels more akin to actual fighting game footies than anything else, once a player gets their punish, they can go in with their confirms and BnBs
thats another thing. In FGs; most if not all of the games have basic bread and butter combos. 64 seems to have a whole kitchen worth of BnB combos for the whole cast. Not to say the latter games dont have BnBs, but they aren't that extensive as in 64. This game has, frame traps, guard breaks, etc. much like traditional FGs. You can kinda tell that this game has alot of traditional FG DNA. From the way it moves and plays, to the way nooch is played as well.
These players are both BEASTS, wow!
Isai's Link is such a pleasure to watch. Idk how he does it
I feel like he only got into his flow with Link when he was on his last stock. I always think of his GF set vs. superboomfan on Hyrule Castle whenever his Link comes out.
Isai's Link got completely shit on this game though? Maybe you're confusing him with Kurraba
All these battles are insane 🤯
isai didnt play like himself, was more defensive than agresive and dropped combos and confirms, even some z cancels. Still kurabba played like a beast, didnt knew he had a pro level entire roster, since he only uses joshi.
Amazing set.
Kurabba won the big 12cb round Robin in Japan
@@Thatsadarkhorse damn, didnt know, gonna watch that asap
thanks
Where can you watch that?
@@MrAltaopa don't know what was uploaded
kurabba IISS the best
The second I saw Mario take 7 stocks I knew it was joever
This is a cool game mode idea.
Spectacular game and show of skills! One of my childhood games!
The epic rematch! Yasssss
Kurabba's Ness is awesome
Gotta love hearing from the announcer "12 Character YOSHI!"
This mode is to awesome! I wish other games and tournaments untilized this rule! It get so stale seeing the SAME charaters played with every fight just because they have top stats! The fact these players have such a wide ser of skills per character is awesome!
Was history just made here? I have never seen Isai lose a 12 character battle, ever, against anyone
I don't play many console 12cbs, mostly online against players I can get decent delay with. Out of the few console 12cb I've played, I know I've also lost to Jouske in 2013 and kysk in 2019.
Dope man. I know Alvin came really close back in 2018 or whenever. Good fight and good night regardless
@@isaissb Hi Isai, I think many people would be interested in seeing you stream playing, reacting to the doc, etc. Good games!
This is Isai's second ever loss of a 12 character battle. The first was to Jouske, a Japanese Samus main and one of the best Japanese players ever. He's never travelled outside Japan unfortunately.
@@isaissbyou’re a legend
Absurdly hype
The main event of SmashCon.
After isai sat there for hours waiting for the Japanese crew to come back >
Wait what?
He has returned!
Did he ever really leave?
@@Thatsadarkhorse fair point XD
You both have amazing memory and reaction, skill, knowledge of the game, experience, spacing, and last but not least time on your hands. Those who know, know.
Pueden compartir el mod del juego!??? Esta buenísimo !
crazy DI @26:56
whats this mod called?
Smash Remix, you good sir
Wow que duro Kudabba, ganarle un 12cb a Isaí es un total logro
Sin duda. Jugó muy bien, la verdad.
how does heb see the game so differently
Every single match is on Dreamland lol.
isai beating kurabba in pika vs yoshi again!
Almost the only matchup he won in this 12cb. I don't want to make excuses because I can't read minds, but Isai seemed tired and not super into the whole thing. Don't want to take away from kurabba though bc he is amazing and won the 12cb round Robin in japan
Kurabba's ness beating Isai's Kirby was not in my books @@Thatsadarkhorse
@@etab8897 it was pretty brutal.
I made sure I tried in that one otherwise it would make previous night look like a FLUKE XD
@@isaissb yea that matchup looked and felt different than the rest

wait so they used smash remix for this yet not for the combo contest?? lolllll
This is a random side thing on a random side stream. Not the most viewed smash video of the year
@@Thatsadarkhorse true im just saying it would be cool to have smash remix for the combo contest cause its dope man, not sure why they don't use it
ISAIIIII
This is like chess…
Spent almost the entire battle thinking isai was p1 because the the youtube title lol. Maybe switch the names?
Look at the top of screen
@@babblingduck9235 yes obviously I figured that out but I've already finished watching the match lol. If I made the mistake then people watching after me will as well
Tru
Yeah I got mixed up too for some reason
I never noticed this 12 character Battle mode when I was a kid.
That's because the cartridge used here was modified! They use those in some tournaments to make some small quality of life changes. You can tell because Link is among the playable characters and there's no spongebob living in the pineapple under Dreamland. Hope this helps!
But I was told SmashCon can't run Smash Remix because Nintendo would shut down any event with mods? @@fabianzolezzirioja9191

Is Link that bad?
He's one of the worst but usually Isai's is very good. Rough match
This basically an iron man, right?
Yes, that’s correct
kurabba IS the best
Dang two hits on Link and he’s done. Smash modders need to make him more viable
He was viable until DL became the only stage. Poor link
@@Thatsadarkhorse idk man two hits from Dk and at 22%, and Link was done. Link sucks in n64.
@@happywheeler4268 thats the way shit goes bro. and most if not all 64 players dont mind link the way he is
@@jamesnubz if that were true, then we would see more link players in n64 tournaments.
@@happywheeler4268 that's just how fighting games go tbh, there are gonna be top tiers that top players will gravitate to.
That's like asking in 3rd Strike "man I really hope rom hackers make Sean more viable" (yea I know 4rd Strike exists but) the general 3S community knows Sean is bad, but that's ok, the generally wouldn't wanna change the game and buff or nerf characters.
This is sad
Wdym by that? 🤨
I've played a bit of this game. I'm sure I'd get my butt kicked playing these guys but they don't seem that good, lots of wasted opportunities and silly mistakes.
You should try to play online. Lots of people there. Discord.gg/ssb64 is a good place to find people and info.
These are 2 of the best players in the world so I don't think you'd do as well as you think but who knows!
