I'm so impressed with the automated processor. I wish they made them with a slasher saw n cut longer lengths of firewood n was available here in the states. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Any repetitive task that can be refined is how you make money. As a bricklayer thats the difference between making money or making a wage or less. You are at the point now where your pretty close to as good as it gets now. Well done keep her lit.
Nice work from Peter giving you more herbs. The processor that I worked on decades ago I always wanted to do some tweaking on it so that it would have a wood diameter dependent cut rate. It was painful (to me) watching the saw cut through 6" diameter piece as what it was cutting the full capacity of about 24" x 12".
A lot of what successful businesses do is about refining process and maximising efficiency . If you can do that without significant outlays then that’s a big win!
@@oakfarmfirewood - Simple Maths = Approx. extra 1.3hr per day production throughput x 5 days = 6.5 hrs per week, so 1 day x 48 weeks. Potential, you are not splitting 6 hrs per day x 5 days per week.
Basically, you are getting an Extra Day, even if you were only splitting 3 or 4 or 5 hours per day. With that Extra Day, you can use that for Deliveries and Sales.
@oakfarmfirewood only if there isn't a bottle neck in taking the wood away. All other processes need to keep up now too. I am sure you will be able to keep up. Love this machine.
need to cut a hole in the blockwork small roller shutter door, line of empty ibc's on a type of track so you only need to take the full 1's out with forklift
Think I’d eventually look for a longer conveyor and feed it into your star cleaner then you could run that as a bulk filler, turning it on and off as you fill ibc’s/bags
you have made a great processor even better,,, nothing to touch this system,, .. did you have to increase the speed of the conveyor to keep up with the avalanche of split firewood

Thanks
Love the overhead shot
I found this really interesting! Thank you for filming and sharing......
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great video. Noticeably increased production. No more sitting around drinking coffee.
You got that right!

Sure is! I’m now thinking about other bits in the yard we can tweak

An Extra 40 to 50 days of Production per year on a 6 hour day and 5 days a week.
When you put it like that! Wow

Enjoy that. Have you worked out yet how many extra IBC's you would fill in a typical shift.
I haven’t yet but 14sec down to 10seconds is very close to a 3rd less time so in theory a 3rd more?

That’s the plan for next spring when we do bulk bags again. Keep the machine running and 1 guy just on the forklift dealing with bags.

Yes I sure did. Tightened the belt and sped her up a little bit
Have you ever tried putting vented bulk bags into the kiln ?
I haven’t, but just can’t see good enough airflow for my liking
It's great you're working out your bottlenecks.
Always!
Good video 👍 Noticably faster
Yeah thanks
I think this is close as you can get to a firewood slot machine. It’s like printing money. Peace
🤘
