Hey, just wanted to drop a like an a positive comment. I actually looked your videos up because I'm going with a woman who has "mommy issues," because her mom sucks. And I wanted to know more about it, for whatever that's worth. But, while watching them I realized I had mommy issues too, lol. Didn't even know. But now that I do, I have discovered a whole aspect of myself that I can improve now that I know it exists! Thank you for that. Seriously.

My mother is extremely toxic. My two older brothers pay her bills, so she loves them. I have two small kids and can’t bankroll her so she definitely treats me differently! My family is also a bit colorist, and have always gave me weird treatment because I’m dark, large nose, etc. I love ur videos, so helpful! ❤️❤️❤️

ugh I'm sorry Namibia. Good for you for focusing on your kids and not getting wrapped in it. You are beautiful the way you are. People that are colorist are just mad they will wrinkle quicker haha Thank you so much for your comment and for watching! I appreciate you and hope to talk again

5:00 I’m realizing the reason I’m jealously upset that you didn’t show this level of empathy for men with mommy issues and how they might feel about their self worth or body image, IS because of my own slight misogyny due to what I went through with my mother. These have been embarrassingly insightful.

Im sorry Gumby. Don’t worry, like I mentioned in the beginning of the first video. You may relate to some of these no matter what gender you are. Some of them are just more prevalent in certain genders

What about women with the overly doughting mother that was codependent...My Mom was all up my ass and around the corner almost like she partially lived vicariously through me. it kinda sounds like i would be in the easily manipulated category tbh... let me know please thanks🙏🏼💗

she covered it in the first video, I think. Having a mother that invades your space = "They (the kid) feel like they are NOT capable of taking care of themselves".

what if you're mom has emotionally abandoned you as a child -- and you are living with her in adulthood, still experiencing new wounds around this. I've attempted to have mature conversation around it, but it isn't possible with her. what would you say is important to work on in this scenario?

    • @MissyTheLifeHelper

Sometimes you can’t talk to your parents about your feelings and the things they do that hurt you. They aren’t open to hearing it and won’t take accountability. In that case set firm boundaries with her (meaning set consequences if she doesn’t respect your boundaries), accept that your mom can’t be the mom you needed and grieve over her and focus on giving your inner child what it didn’t receive. That means love, soothing, self parenting, nurturing, fun time etc. whatever you felt was lacking give yourself that and talk to little you. I have meditations that also help talk to your inner child on my mindfulness with missy channel if you’re interested. Hang in there

Let me guess, Coddled all their life right? lol. I'm the baby in the family, and have siblings 15 yrs older than me, and i was overprotected by whole life and they still do this, but im 38🤔. Anyways, Im afraid to watch this btw, im afraid it might get into the s*xual aspect of it, which there can be and probably is, or else the term daddy issues wouldn't be a thing.

I found this video on the day I finally decided to walk away from my mom. I’m 54…she’s 75. Every single thing you said I exhibit and feel. So wild. I have a long journey of healing ahead of me. Thank you for this video series. 🩷
